Something really stinks about our fan base at times. At times I have been infuriated with players, but some of the abuse they are given now is sickening. Last season I believe it was away at southampton, everyone saw El Ghazi bottle it, used a potential eye injured, one in which didn't stop him being available the week after, in order to get subbed when the going was getting tough, we were all fuming when we saw the video replays as it backed up the thought that he had bottled it. However what I've just seen on Twitter is a disgrace. Analyse the cup game against Stoke independently, El Ghazi was the only player who attempted to make something happen, he had three shots from outside the box, none of which on target, and two inside, both on target, he went looking for the ball and for once put effort in, both defensively and attacking wise. As a one of game he had a damn better game than some who will be exempt from criticism, Ramsey, Guilbert etc. Now he has had to delete his social media because the non stop abuse he's gotten. Remember this is a man who showed up when we needed him to, in order to get us back into the big league. Worth noting for that exact game he broke his faith, breaking Ramadan in order to be at full strength for the game, does this man deserve death threats?

I'm the first to say he isn't good enough for the Prem, and at times especially last season he didn't seem interested, a typical winger so to speak. However he's one of ours as we speak, for gods sake leave the man alone. The abuse his getting will only effect the whole squad, as they will feel they need to rally around him.

We have spent years trying to build the bridge between fans and the club, finally when we seem to have it back, some fans are determine to burn it down. Baffling.

Chris agree wholeheartedly, I think it’s a problem, not just at Villa but in general . people today, especially younger ones, are very angry and need someone to hit out against . We have had many posts, about Villa and it’s fans, we all agree they are quick to turn . I was one with others, who have said before about El Gazi at times, that his work rate could be better . But to use language and threats that some have, is beyond what anybody deserves. As you say i hope this doesn’t have an effect, on the whole team’s morale.
We are, as we keep saying, all entitled to our own opinions
But this goes beyond that .

I can’t argue with that Chris, these people are complete and utter morons and it is them who do the club far more harm than any player.

I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments Chris El ghazi is one of our own and whilst I agree he is both inconsistent and not premiership quality he does not deserve to be treated as he has been. Once the idiots identify a target a number of others jump on the bandwagon. I don’t use social media myself so I might be talking rubbish but could the club not identify the worst culprits and ban them if they are season ticket holders or in the most extreme cases put it in the hands of the police? I know that in some of the really extreme cases people have taken their own lives because of this kind of s*** and whilst I am not saying that El ghazi is in that type of place these idiots have got to be stopped and a few high profile prosecutions might make people think twice.

Glad you agree lads, like I said, El Ghazi has been useless at times and is way off premier league, but if someone gets a promotion at work to a level they aren’t fit to be at, they don’t get thousands of people talking about them, their family and giving them death threats.

When we went down the club was so separated from the fans, since the promotion season with the likes of Deano, Jack, McGinn, I honestly don’t think we’ve been closer in the last decade! We only really overpaid to get Mings because how much of a fan favourite he was! Yet one loss by the reserves to a decent stoke side who already knocked out a good Wolves side, and certain section want to turn the club against us.

I saw the Villa admin read the room brilliantly last night, posted El Ghazis play off goal with a “💜” caption, and he got a lot of love in the comments, hope someone shows him.

Makes me sick to b honest, I didn’t see the game just the commentary and el gazhi was the name that kept popping up trying to have a go, it’s 1 thing for us to b on here voicing our opinions and as bad as it gets is usually “not good enough” or some similar comment, to directly aim that kind of abuse at his personal page is as low as those idiots can go, reflects badly on the rest of us also, I would love to see all social media platforms banned completely it does more bad than good, I for 1 will always b grateful for his contribution to getting us back to the PL.

Well posted by one and all.
Social media is the only way people have of issuing threats and crass comments without being identified.
Only cowards make these comments. They don't have the balls, male or female versions, to stand infront of someone and verbally abuse them.
However if you join the crowd and use these sites you leave the door open for these comments.
I don't want to know what people had for dinner, when they go to the bog or why they are unable to communicate with their mouths.
You can guess that I am the older generation but I am proud to say that I only use one site to post my views and it is this one.

The guys not good enough we are moving on, banter fine but nobody deserves abuse not even troy deeney.

Totally TOV, the problem with these social media sites is that most stuff is not genuine, by this I mean as an example, Blues fans have always been envious of us and I know for certain they post things that can put Villa fans in a poor light. I accept that a lot of the bile regarding Elghazi was from villa people, however it is so so easy to highjack and exaggerate the number of negative comments.

03 Oct 2020 15:06:52
The comments made to El Ghazi, and I might add to many people are indeed shocking, and I agree with all that has been said about it.
But the post from Oldvillan has said it all for me, and I applaud him for saying it, you have hit the nail on the head mate, very well said Oldvillan.

Not on social media but been reading about the vitriol being sent to these players and it is disgusting. We all vent our displeasure about players who we feel have let themselves and the team down but don't stoop to the levels that's been mentioned. Hopefully they'll be outed and suitable action is taken by both the club and the authorities.

We don't need these sort bringing the name of our great club down, but it just shows them for what they are:keyboard cowards! Put them face to face with the players involved in their spewed bile and see if they're so brave.

Social media stinks.
WE are breading a generation of narcissistic self centred pieces of sh.!
Idiots recording details of the most vile actions, even young children at school are making recordings.

Girls and women showing themselves in very little clothing. Is it any wonder that we this sick society.
Many have no concern about lives, theirs or others.
Look at the TV games that play. They in theory kill thousands of people and get rewarded. And they get "killed" but get another life.

Life is not like that. When you are dead, you are dead, full stop.
Sometimes I am glad that I have less years to go than I have lived.
SO Villa come on. Give me and all supporters what we desire
Top of the table and silverware to match.
Rant over.
