Obviously most of us are still smarting from todays result,on reflection, a genuine question that i would love to hear from you guys. If we get all of the the quality players we desperately need, which of the players who featured today would be definitely, without question, be in your starting eleven for the first game next season? Ill kick off, Kamara, Martinez if he is here, Ollie because of his recent form, i am genuinely struggling with any more, answering my own question honestly. Remember players definitely without question.

I would also like to see Duran given more minutes.
Bailey made a difference today.
McGinn deserves another season as he’s been injured and overall been decent for us.
We need at least one central defender, creative midfielder, winger and quality centre forward in the summer imo.
We didn’t get the rub of the green today. Arsenal got their chances and took them (Odegaard miss excepted).

If we are talking purely the staring 11 then this what I think Emery will target in the summer - 4 players, a RB, CB, MF, Winger / ST.

McGinn, Kamera, XXXX, Buendia
XXXX, Watkins
I'd be absolutely amazed if Pau Torres and Guendouzi are not on the list and, if rumours are to be believed, we'll go back in for Williams. That's a massive outlay however so we may need to prioritize in the summer and target further reinforcement in January.

No way will Mings be a starter for Emery. Too clumsy and slow.

Konsa has completely gone.
Martinez will possibly go but hopefully we’ll get top dollar.

unai didn't look happy in the press conference,how can u be happy with mings n konsa as our cbs there championship level and sum people reckon on here apart from top6 other teams would want them not a chance in a blue moon,mings shouldn't have got a new contract awfull decision,
rumours that I've herd is that unai is going to get from 150mill/200 in summer to bring in quality,plus there is some quality players also on a free aswell,this summer is most important window in along time,if we bring 3 players in then it will be same as this season,if we spend like we should then we could have a good season nxt season

Scotty I can't see us buying 6 1st team starters. We'll get a winger a right back and a centre forward. I'm correct with the starters that I listed.

I doubt anyone that you or any of us know personally are going to know anything about how much money unai will have to spend on players mate it’s all pure speculation just like all the players we were buying in January nobody knows how many players or how much money.

Mings would get into most teams outside of the usual top 6. Every newspaper has at one time reported we're going to spend £200m in the transfer window just like we were supposed to in January.

I get the frustration but if you look at it objectively, none of the Villa 11 are championship players, they are just inconsistent mid table players. Any would get a game in another prem team.
The premise of the question is impossible because suggesting a certain starter for our team without knowing who we might sign between now and next season doesn't make sense. If we add 4 genuinely class players to our first 11 it will lift the whole squad. As most have pointed out, that probably involves a cb, cm, winger and striker as priorities, hopefully with a few more up and coming players too.

If those rumours are true Jonny then I think we'll go for Torres, Williams, Guendouzi for sure - Wouldn't he overly surprised to see Konsa converted to a more defensive RB like Emery did with Foyt- If this is our starting 11 come August I'll be delighted:

The big question then is what does our bench look like? I don't see mass sales of our current squad (more the players on loan) as it would simply be too big an overhaul so could see a strong bench / squad of:
Olsen, Chambers, Mings, Cash, Digne, Young, McGinn, Ramsey, Iroegbunam, Coutinho, Bailey, Duran etc

I don’t see many of your benchwarmers being happy with that role particularly current internationals like Cash, Bailey and McGinn. I think the mood music is that Emery is looking for a significant squad overhaul in the summer and I think that will in all probability include some established first teamers.

I'm sure some of them will look for pastures new LotM and that's fine, the only way we improve as a club though is when our first team players are replaced in our starting 11 and move to the bench as part of the squad - Some players like Ings, Targett etc will want to move on inevitably but i'm confident next season we'll have much better squad depth.
