A good hard fought win, we needed that .What a difference it made when Buendia came on for Bailey, better movement and much better on the ball . Cash had a good game and once again Mings was there with his goal line clearance. Once again McGinn was all over the place, getting a foot in and winning 50/50 balls.Ollie played well, his hold up play is great, also took his pen well .
Palace next,5 points clear of them now, have to keep it going .

The problem is Buendia hasn't been great when starting matches due to his lack of pace.
Bailey at least stretches the play which helps tire the opposition out and benefits the likes of Buendia as the game goes on. He needs to take care of the ball more but he also needs other players to help him out when opponents rush 2 or 3 out to crowd him out.

RK, i'm really surprised that you still back Bailey, there is absolutely no place in the premier league to pick a player to stick out wide just to tire the opposition out. He was absolutely woeful again today his touch is poor, his passing is poor,he has absolutely no defensive awareness, he just offers very little. Just remember, both Smith and Gerrard gave up on him and Emery will shortly follow.

Disagree Scotty. Bailey always wants the ball, he stretches defences with his pace and always trys to beat his man. Dare I say he's like a young Tony Daley.

Without Bailey there we play everything too slowly through the middle and it becomes easy for defenders to double up on Watkins.
Buendia is a top player but recently there have been a lot of times early in games where defenders and midfielders at full energy dispossess him too easily. He then gets frustrated and loses his focus until eventually being subbed.
Duran looks quick so maybe it's worth giving him a shot for a game but I'm guessing his fitness isn't there to manage 60-70 minutes yet.

i agree with you guys on bailey he can be frustrating but his numbers are decent,plus we don't have a lot of players with pace like he has and like buck said he streches defenders with his pace apart from ollie they isn't another player with good pace
