Looks like Kalvin Phillips back on the agenda. Him and Kamara as the holding midfielders strike me as a pretty formidable base. The only question is what you do with Luiz? Play him in a more advanced playmaker role?

Do you think he’s he sort of player we need LOTM?
I liked him at Leeds but not sure he’s top of our priorities.
If the fee was right I would certainly consider him but not at the expense of quality striker, although with Ollie bang in form UE might change his priorities?

I guess it comes down to what you like 37. I like Phillips as a player he would certainly add steel in front of the back four, I think he is stronger in the tackle than Luiz and better at breaking up play but having said that he is not great at bringing the ball out and getting forward and won’t chip in with as many goals. However I think our real problem if we sign Phillips is who do we play in midfield? If you take Kamara and Phillips as starters whether we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2 you have Coutinho, Ramsey,Buendia,McGinn Bailey chasing 2 maybe 3 positions I know it’s a squad game but given the stature of these players I can’t see them setting for a place on the bench. In terms of our priorities I think I agree with you given how the Luiz and Kamara partnership has worked if we are going to break our transfer record I would rather it be on either an out and out centre forward or else a top quality winger

Yeah, I agree LOTM. A record fee, if there is going to be one paid, would be better spent elsewhere.
