That guy Enzo we got from juve is ripping it up on loan, reports are describing him as 1 of the best CM in Europe right now, bad news for us as reports state he's only a couple of appearances away from a permanent move for what's described as peanuts, looks like we might have lost out with him, the signs we there that he had quality but instead we paid 50 million for Onana, these are the things putting us under financial pressure, I hope the new guy has a good eye for talent and I hope these young players get game time or we are just wasting our time.

Here's a positive outlook for those disappointed with lack of signings.
If any premier league team signed Watkins Martinez and rogers it would be hailed as a brilliant window, same goes for us keeping them.

I would also add that Watkins having a break to recover looks almost like a new signing going into the new season.

Articles popping up about united trying to sign Martinez on loan, how on earth would they think that we would loan them our number one keeper? I know there does be some rubbish rumours floating around but this one takes the biscuit, is there truth in it? What you guys think?
I'm not sure who the biggest idiot would be, them for thinking we would do it or us if we accepted it.

Late getting home from work missed the game apart from the last 10 mins, were we that bad in the second half?
Why do we always perform poorly against poor teams?
Second question, why is he bringing on Watkins when we're winning 2-0 if he's trying to manage a knock? Leads me to believe he has no injury and it's just down to poor form, I'm starting to wonder if there's some sort of personal issue going on in the background, top scorer for us 5 seasons on the trot but now there's double decker buses out there with a better first touch and better acceleration.
Lastly why do tnt keep putting Robbie savage on our games, glad I missed it and didn't have to listen to him for 2 hours.

I know arsenal are going well but there's an awful lot of hype over beating spursy at the emirates, you would expect them them, we beat them on their patch and not a sniff of the same attention. I can't see them getting back in the champions league under Frank, he is a decent manager but his football is more suited to a lower team.
Well done to Everton tonight, the table is one of the tightest I remember, I wonder will it stay like this for the season?

Super result, not our best performance but the best teams find a way to win, hats off to Roger's, he can be frustrating but he has the skills in his locker. shout out to Emery making very good substitutions, squad looking strong, great run of results and that early season blip looks long forgotten at this point, top 4, proper buzzing, today was never going to be easy, Leeds played their usual dirt trying to hurt players and they didn't stop till the ref started using his cards, subs made the difference, bringing on premier league players with Leeds bringing on championship ones, they look like they are marching on together back to the championship, we may not have a big squad but we have a good one, lastly shout out to Martinez, shocking for their goal but didn't let it get to him and made some great saves for the remainder of the game.

I don't see what the big issue is with the Liverpool disallowed goal yesterday? Robertson was in an offside position, no matter what people say the fact that he's there is a distraction for the keeper, slot says he ducked out of the way, so therefore admiting he was in the way in the first place otherwise why would he have to duck out of the way, every team in the league has had goals disallowed for the exact same reason, a memorable one that maginn had against arsenal a few seasons ago sticks in my mind, I think every Liverpool fan has to admit that they have benefitted more than most teams from var decisions since its introduction, if Robertson was switched on properly he would of had himself onside like all the other players.
I'm not looking to get a dig in at Liverpool I would rather see them win the league over arsenal city or Chelsea. I didn't see the game just the highlights, I did see clips of VVD sarcastically clapping the ref, was he booked for that or was he let away with it?

Excellent performance and an amazing result, really helped our goal difference aswel. Roger's looks like he's almost back to his best, Martinez was world class today, that deflected shot he saved was unbelievable and you know u always have a chance to save a penalty with him in goal, players must hate facing him, keeping Buendia looks like the best business of the summer, unlike a lot of technical players he is tenacious when we don't have the ball, probably player of the season so far, I thought we were very good defensively, they came at us in the second half as you would expect from Bournemouth who are an excellent side and I thought we coped well with it, we kept Semeneo pretty quiet which is not easy, brilliant to see the subs coming on and scoring 2 goals between 3 of them and it could of being more.
we may not have the biggest squad but we do have a good one when we have everyone fit, I wouldn't of thought of Watkins for motm but he did work hard and I'm glad he got it, hopefully it gives him confidence. delighted for Barkley aswel.
Finally I want to mention a phrase I was fed up hearing last season, "European hangover" I haven't heard it this season, I think if anything being in Europe has helped us this season, UTFV?

Daz you are 100% I was only thinking the same thing yesterday, it was a huge day for us and for a villa boy he was very blasé about it, yes it was only the conference league but it was a stepping stone and also an emotional day for most villa fans who went through the heartache of relegation. not saying he’s a bad lad but most of these football players are motivated by money and not glory like the old days

I hear what your saying Scot but it’s a 2 sided coin, if he hadn’t had those injuries and had 2 storming seasons instead and city or Liverpool etc came calling I wonder would he still want to stay at villa or would he do exactly what Delph or grealish done?
I wish him nothing but the best but no matter who he is or how long he’s being here he’s not more important than sustaining the upward trajectory we find ourselves in the past few years.

Assensio doesn’t make sense to me but I wouldn’t be overly surprised if it happened, we don’t see what Emery sees. who would you rather have back between Assensio luiz or grealish?

I’m torn on this one scotty, I’m not overly impressed with the performances but delighted with the results, I do think we need to create more chances which might improve Watkins confidence, that said I think we might have to suck it up for a season or 2 while we get established as a regular European side, hopefully finances improve over the next season or 2 and we can attract 2 or 3 more top quality players, some tough games coming between here and the new year, teams that will come at us like Bournemouth did and that in turn will create space, these teams that just sit back and defend seem to be the teams we struggle against so I’m expecting some big performances in the next 5 or 6 games.
Emerys favourite word is consistency and at the minute that’s exactly what the players are delivering so I find it hard to complain (too much) .

Agree Scot, most managers wait till the 60 min mark to change things but when we have a strong bench what’s the point in waiting and wasting 15 valuable mins, great that making subs is no longer weakening the team. hopefully we can beat our neighbours now next weekend
