Surprise surprise reports saying Chelsea looking to buy rogers in the summer. he's not worth a sniff of it yet but I wouldn't sell for less than 80-90 million,

Whackattack

1.) 30 Apr 2025 12:57:57
Going on how much they paid for Mudryk or however you spell it, got to be £150M minimum, if I was Villa I’d put a bid in for Palmer

UTV

2.) 30 Apr 2025 19:20:14
I wouldn't sell him sell him for any price the lads going to be a star 90mil isn't enough 150mil then i'd start talking, where are you going to get a player like him there's 1 i can think of but city won't sell oreily
I would say rodgers is villas 2nd most important player bouba is 1st
Plus it would send out wrong vibes too the rest of the squad aswell and he's 1 of the crown jewells

3.) 30 Apr 2025 20:02:38
150 million he’s not worth 1/3 of it yet, 150 million buys you Isak, if you could get it then it would be amazing but he will want to move on if the likes of city or pool come in for him

4.) 30 Apr 2025 20:47:47
If city come then we should try n get oreily in the deal or mcatee .but if it was me i wouldn't sell its stupid and makes no sense and makes us weaker uless we get kdb aswell, wot do we gain by selling rodgers nothing with luiz i got that 1 but we still miss him only reason we will sell is ffp n psr that's the only reason and if it is its bs

5.) 30 Apr 2025 22:05:52
Rogers won’t be going anywhere, we know Emery will wheel and deal in the market but I think he will do that by looking to bring down the average age of the squad we can already see that as a direction of travel for the club by signing the likes of Rogers Maatsen and Garcia all in there early twenties and are heavily linked with Nypan who is eighteen.

In addition I think the club may well look to get rid of some of the players in the late twenties early thirties who are also amongst the highest earners so for me players like Digne, Mings, Martinez, Watkins and even McGinn all earning £100k or more may well be under threat.

6.) 30 Apr 2025 23:11:57
Dont mind any of them going lird apary from mcginn he's the engine and heart beat i wouldn't sell him

03 Feb 2025 12:02:37
The CB situation is a real worry for me it's really no looking great.
Diaby 50 million
Duran 65 million
Philogene 22 million
We have earned 75 million in champions league so far so I'm sorry but there is no way PSR is stopping us from having signed one.
COME ON MONCHI EARN YOUR WAGES AND GET US THAT CB WE NEED BADLY

Whackattack

1.) 03 Feb 2025 12:20:01
Latest rumour we might have to buy Disasi as Chelsea won't loan to us.
£50m!
Final day madness.
I am not 100% convinced with Monchi. He could come good but I'm not sure at the moment.

2.) 03 Feb 2025 13:17:49
£50M would get us Guehi ??‍♂️

UTV

3.) 03 Feb 2025 13:56:39
Palace have rejected 70 million for guehi so I doubt we get him for 50… all these prices prove we sold ourselves short on Duran. look at Brighton they rejected 45 million for their winger and Al Nasser came back with 75 million which was also rejected

4.) 03 Feb 2025 14:39:58
£70M in this window? I’m sure they wanted £70M in the summer, he now has 18 months left on his contract. Look at it this way, a centre half normally sticks around longer at club so you get better value over the length of their contract. If you pay over the odds it’s not that big a risk. Seems like a humble club man type player to me ??‍♂️

UTV

5.) 03 Feb 2025 19:09:50
They rejected it today according to sky

29 Jan 2025 09:51:49
Seemingly talks for Foyth are not progressing and a deal looks unlikely according to sky.

Whackattack

24 Jan 2025 18:00:57
Here's a new one, sky sports Aston Villa looking for Cunha from wolves. spending that kind of money might suggest Duran on the move LOTM

Whackattack

1.) 24 Jan 2025 20:48:49
I'm not sure replacing one hothead who is prone to sulking with another is the right move.
Only advantage I see is that Cunha is more versatile so can play with Watkins without occupying the same positions.

2.) 24 Jan 2025 21:25:03
Pretty much my exact thoughts on it RK

14 Jan 2025 15:19:36
So according to Romano we are in concrete talks with Seville for Logic Bade, he won't be cheap, but if you couple that with the news we have turned down the offer from turkey for Carlos and there are other clubs interested in him, I wonder could it be a double deal with Carlos going back to them?
You heard it here first folks ??

Whackattack

1.) 14 Jan 2025 16:20:08
Can’t see that happening given we can’t sign Malen until Philogene moves because of PSR. If we are interested I can’t see this happening unless Durán moves

2.) 14 Jan 2025 16:20:50
Never thought of that whack would make sense a win win for both

3.) 14 Jan 2025 17:24:46
LOTM - Malen has signed!
No news yet about Philogene though.
Just goes to show ….

4.) 14 Jan 2025 22:37:16
Mystic Whack predicts Philogene will move tomorrow ?
I think the Bade story has legs to be honest, I don’t believe we are only 12 million inside our safety margin for psr, defence is our biggest problem so if money was that tight I reckon we would of recalled illing jr for the wing and spend our money on defence, I think Emery is just being clever saying what he said today about Malen cause we don’t want our pants pulled down in negotiations for other players.
It’s hard to see Duran getting sold in this window unless we get 100 million which will set us up for the next 3 years so it won’t be the end of the world if it does happen, it wouldn’t surprise me if we sign 2 more first team players, our defence is awful and Emery and the board have to know it aswel they ain’t blind, I’ll be gonsmacked if we don’t sign some quality options for defence.

Question for the Ed's
In relation to selling our women's team have we freed up some funds with not having the running costs of the ladies side of things? Or did they even get taken into account towards financial rules?

Whackattack

{Ed001's Note - their costs are not involved in PSR. In fact, removing them could reduce the amount you have if they make a profit. Which is very likely to happen in the very near future with the growth of women's football far outstripping the growth of the men's.}

1.) 07 Jul 2025 17:52:38
It seems very shortsighted tbh. thanks Ed ?

{Ed001's Note - it is, but it seems to be the way now.}

2.) 08 Jul 2025 05:15:12
I think you’re wrong about this 1 when it comes to Villa. It’s the same with womens football that Sky only care about the ‘top 6’ clubs, and it’s on a knife edge with England tonight, if they loose, interest in this country will drop like a stone.

UTV

{Ed001's Note - interest is growing regardless, you clearly have no idea about the women's game. Like eSports, the interest is growing because people enjoy it away from stuff like Sly, who are irrelevant to most people under the age of 40. Most of them grow consuming their sports via social media, it doesn't matter who Sly give a toss about. You are just showing how out of touch you are with the modern world, mate. I admit I would be the same but for my godkids and little cousins. They don't even watch TV, everything is done through a phone or tablet.

As for women's football, the growth is huge and will be even if they lose. It shouldn't be a surprise, the reason the women's game was banned back in about the 1950s by the English FA is because it was more popular than the men's and attracted bigger crowds.}

3.) 08 Jul 2025 08:54:26
BMX, Cabbage Patch dolls, it’s a fad, I know it’s being pushed and pushed but can only flog a horse so much, Rapinoe ain’t Ronaldo, it will run its course, that’s my honest opinion ??‍♂️

UTV

{Ed001's Note - that is embarrassing. You are an old misogynist, let's be honest. It is not a fad, and that is an extremely offensive viewpoint of women like my cousin who work bloody hard to make it in the game. In most countries, women's football is already close to being as big as the men's. In some, it is actually bigger and is the main growth point of the game in places like the Philippines.}

4.) 08 Jul 2025 09:50:37
Question… the women’s Premier League is part of the Sky Sports line up, it doesn’t have its own subscription channel, do you think it would be able to survive if you had to pay for it? Do you also think someone should pay less for Sky Sports if they don’t want the Women’s Premier League? I feel like it’s being forced on us, not because it’s wanted by the majority. Not misogyny, just reality ??‍♂️

UTV

{Ed001's Note - not reality. Why do you think they cover it? It is because it is so popular that the TV channels broadcast it. Sorry but you are showing what you are in every post. Just because you don't want it, and all the other old bigots you chat to also think women should just be in the kitchen, doesn't mean it is a majority. Obviously you think business isn't about making money and they do these things out of charity, rather than because it is a good way for them to earn.}

5.) 08 Jul 2025 10:00:20
Gonna have to agree to disagree on this 1

UTV

6.) 08 Jul 2025 12:08:18
My only disagreement Ed is that any profits will be temporary at best, as soon as viewership starts to bring in serious revenue and sponsorship then player wages will increase the same as the mens game.

{Ed001's Note - but the men's game still makes profits.}

7.) 08 Jul 2025 15:04:19
Overall it is very much loss making at an operational level for the vast majority of clubs. Most profit making seasons come from selling players.
If the women's game starts to become self sustainable, I can't see the FA and UEFA allowing clubs to claim profits but ignore losses against their overall SCR. There will almost definitely be a requirement to be "all in" or "all out".

{Ed001's Note - profits are a very debatable term. A business can make a lot of money but still record a loss in the accounts.}

8.) 08 Jul 2025 16:44:11
It works both ways, especially in football. That player who has cost you millions upon millions suddenly shows a profit when you sell him for £5m in 6 years time, you haven't really made any money on them.

{Ed001's Note - very good point.}

01 Jul 2025 13:40:51
Haaland is such a sore loser he should play for arsenal

Whackattack

30 Jun 2025 17:24:00
Question for the Ed's
Chelsea spending so much money, my question, is it sustainable? Their transfer strategy I mean? I know they do these longer contracts but why is every club not doing it if it's all above board and compliant with ffp

Whackattack

{Ed001's Note - it is not sustainable, which is why they are selling all their youth players, the women's team and the hotel. They are going to have to rein it in soon.}

1.) 30 Jun 2025 21:09:09
Apparently if they win the current competition some outlets are reporting they stand to win a staggering £100 million which I find amazing quite frankly. Add to that they will also earn about £100 million from the Champions League plus they anticipate shipping out the likes of Jackson, Madueke, Chilwell, Mudryk, Disasi plus one or two others that as well as selling the ladies team for circa £100 million means they will probably rake in close to half a billion if all the above scenarios happen which is probably why they can continue to spend as they have at the moment but the wheels will come off the bus at some point just not sure when.

2.) 30 Jun 2025 23:34:26
So as I've been saying for a long time the way we are being ran is not sustainable. We will run out of things to sell to ourselves a lot quicker than Chelsea that I can assure you.

3.) 01 Jul 2025 09:09:57
I agree that unless the rules change we potentially face PSR issues season after season but can we buy ourselves some space as we did when we sold Grealish? So for me i wonder if we sold Rogers Kamara (who seems reluctant to sign an extension), Bailey and Buendia and released the likes of Coutinho who has been a drain on the clubs resources replaced them with the likes of Elliot, Asensio, Luiz and Eze would the squad be any weaker? Personally I don’t think so, and at least we would’ve have generated enough additional cash to mitigate any PSR issues for next season. I know such an approach particularly in terms of incomings is easier said than done but all the players I have mentioned in terms of incomings are available and Emery has often said that the club needs to be creative in the transfer market and I wonder if this is the type of activity he meant.

4.) 01 Jul 2025 12:27:13
I’d think ‘being creative’ means finding another Rogers tulips player, not paying £60M+ for Eze, look to players in the final year of their contracts like Guehi, next big thing players like Guler who don’t get a sniff at the likes of Real, decent squad players at clubs like Barcelona who are always in the ? moneywise, and there’s got to be some kids coming through the academy like Wilson who are desperate to make a name for themselves ??‍♂️

United fans in a meltdown over Garnacho wearing a villa jersey ??? got a giggle outa it but I hope it's the only one he gets the chance to wear.

Whackattack

1.) 23 Jun 2025 16:04:49
Whack the photo I saw was Rashford

2.) 23 Jun 2025 20:22:31
Garnacho posted on his insta a photo of himself wearing a Villa top with Rashfords name on the back. Rashford posted "my brother" as a response.
Not sure what photo you were looking at Dave.

08 Jun 2025 20:44:35
So what's the bets we go for Felix again this year ?

Whackattack

1.) 09 Jun 2025 11:56:48
Evens money Whack??

2.) 10 Jun 2025 11:44:38
On loan maybe, and his wages are around £80K pw, so a lot better value than Rashford/Asensio

Don’t forget the likes of Bailey, Buendia, dendonker etc. enzo and illing jr will either be sold or will be new additions to the squad. it’s hard to call who will be sold from first team but your probably right about losing at least one anyways.

Top 8 won’t even be a given this season, everyone will bring in players, some will work out others won’t, we have seen all these clubs spend all this money before to no avail, the likes of spurs and united will have to improve this season surely. I don’t think we should be panicking to buy players, I’m sure there is a plan there to strengthen the squad, I’ll be happy with no big sales, buy 2 players, try get 2 good players in on loans and get rid of some fringe players. I hope NSWE have patience and stick around long enough to see the whole project through, it’s going to take a few years to be able to compete consistently for champions league.

Was thinking the exact same thing, if you believe the articles he’s desperate for a united move, with no European football and the whole club in disarray I find it really hard to believe. someone like atletcio I could believe but united seems a stretch

You talk some rubbish Jonny, you talk about promoting youngsters but your having a meltdown cause other teams are spending 60 million on this player and that player. you believe absolutely every article you read as if Emery himself wrote them, you have no idea what our budget is, what our manager actually wants to buy, who he’s going to keep, is he going to promote any youths. and it’s not just you that don’t know, none of us know. one thing I do know is that you could drive the length of the country and not find someone as clueless as yourself when it comes to football. it’s like reading my 13 year olds message inbox at times. the window is open a week and a half and your already like a broken record. I’ve said it before and will say it again, I’ll be happy if we keep all our best players, sell a couple of fringe players and bring in a 2-4 players via purchase or loan. Chelsea is who you should be supporting with the way you carry on. players back training a couple of days and all we get from you is doom and gloom, negativity and ridiculous comments constantly, put a sock in it and support your team for gods sake
