Alex teixeria a name that's doing the rounds this morning, free agent but getting on at 31 years old, thoughts?

Whackattack

1.) 25 Jan 2021 12:43:41
He was the one who went to China for £450k a week!
Imagine what he'd be asking now.

Would he get a work permit?
Where would he fit?
Davis replacement?
Would DS risk it?

I just think its bull.
he's supposed to still be in China due to travel restrictions back to Brazil.
We will be linked with every available striker as that what we need.

2.) 25 Jan 2021 12:47:29
i have got no thoughts at all Whacky, age and position says it all.

3.) 25 Jan 2021 13:57:16
We do seem well stacked in that position now with Swanson coming in, would prefer a back up LB or striker.

4.) 25 Jan 2021 14:46:38
Sanson mate. 😂.

5.) 25 Jan 2021 17:28:33
Lol stupid auto correct😂😂 it usually try’s to change it to Samson 😂😂.

6.) 25 Jan 2021 17:31:19
Do you think once Sanson is signed that will end our interest of signing Barkley permanently? or do you see the signing as the continuation of our building a squad capable of challenging the better sides in the league? I hope it’s the latter but fear it’s the former.

7.) 25 Jan 2021 18:18:45
Not sure John, I did say the other day, that I thought he might be the better option, cost, injury, age etc.
But you never know, I would like another striker through the door mate, rather than Barkley if I am honest.

8.) 25 Jan 2021 21:51:09
Can’t hurt to have them both till the end of the season, if sanson does the business I think a move for Barkley is dead in the water, unless of coarse he can be bought for 15-18 million.

Galatasary to meet Aston Villa this week to discuss trez going there on loan, just because he's supposedly on their managers shortlist. did u ever hear such rubbish, why would we even entertain any talks of loaning a first team player, news now articles really are the bottom of the barrel reporting.

Whackattack

1.) 13 Jan 2021 17:09:59
I think there may be some validity in this rumour whacky.
Trez has some ties with the guy at Galatasaray, having already worked with him.
this is not the first time this has surfaced, so I would not hold your breath on this happening, if not now possibly the summer.

2.) 13 Jan 2021 17:47:36
I might be in a minority but I for one wouldn’t be desperately upset if he leaves I think he works incredibly hard for the team but we need a bit more quality certainly when it comes to finishing and he just doesn’t have it for me I’m afraid.

3.) 13 Jan 2021 18:36:27
That’s like saying all the Brentford and Chelsea team have ties to Aston Villa because of dean and JT. villa ain’t loaning trez to anyone, if he’s not in the first 11 he’s the first sub used, he was linked to several Turkish teams in the summer it’s just usual BS articles no substance whatsoever, it would be 1 thing if they were going to buy him u might think ok maybe we want funds to make a purchase but a loan makes no sense when we are struggling for depth. yesterday it was Freddie going to turkey, which maybe had some lvl of believability, they can have Lansbury 😂😂.

4.) 13 Jan 2021 19:01:46
That`s fine whacky, if that`s how you see it and you think it`s BS.
I agree with you John, he works hard yes, but my opinion remains the same, very erratic and snatches at everything, needs to calm down.

5.) 13 Jan 2021 19:17:19
My main point Dave is if trez is on the bench and we need to take off a winger he’s our best and only option at the minute unless we move Ollie out the wing and bring on Davis which hasn’t worked anytime we have done so but bringing on trez you have a chance of creating something with his pace, and I do agree to a point he does need to calm down a bit he does tend to snatch at things but he also gets in great positions and has scored some very important goals for us, as it stands we need 1 more winger, if he were to leave we need to buy 2 and that certainly won’t happen in January we will be lucky if we get 1 in. I like him to be honest he gives his all and never stops trying, if we had more like him a few seasons back we wouldn’t of gotten relegated, he’s needs more developing but he’s exactly the type of player we want to see wear our jersey.

6.) 13 Jan 2021 19:29:56
That was mainly because El Ghazi was not performing, and he always looked disinterested, he has now found another mojo, and we did not have Traore back then either.
Its all about opinions mate, and how we individually see things mate.

7.) 13 Jan 2021 21:46:07
I can’t see us getting rid of anyone at the minute without replacement, it would be utter madness. Unlike previous management, Deano and his team aren’t that naïve.

05 Jan 2021 21:00:12
Erickson to villa? Surely not, surely usual bs on news now. would he suit us would u like him?

Whackattack

1.) 06 Jan 2021 15:51:26
Oh yeah, definitely take him but I don’t think there is any chance of it happening.

12 Oct 2020 12:15:33
Reports villa showing late interest in benerahma if you could believe it, not sure how true this is I think we will be more inclined to pursue king.

Whackattack

1.) 12 Oct 2020 17:52:03
I honestly think if we wanted benrahma he would have been in the shirt by now. He's a quality player but not sure about him pace wise which it seems we are going for this season. Time will tell. And I agree I'd rather king he's more versatile can play a few positions.

2.) 13 Oct 2020 18:46:29
I think Smith’s recent comment continues to ring true; no incomings unless there are outgoing players.

Our problem lies with those we want to move on are only likely to interest Championship clubs, who are all generally skint.

3.) 13 Oct 2020 23:29:10
Probably right AJ I’d be surprised if we do any more buying, we could do with 3 more players imo but we need to shift 5 or 6 first.

03 Oct 2020 22:22:23
News now have articles saying we bid 9 million to Copenhagen for victor nelsson and also bid for de siglio from juve, I understand nelsson but why would we sign another right back🤔.

Whackattack

1.) 03 Oct 2020 23:53:34
Exactly why would we? BS.

2.) 04 Oct 2020 09:20:43
Apparently he can play left back as well as right, but I do agree that this is bs particularly as his weekly wage is £91k. and I can’t see why he would take a salary cut or why we would pay that type of money for him.

So we had a great first 18 or so games, being pretty poor in the following 12, only for some last ditch defending and such a great shot stopper we wouldn't of gotten those wins since Christmas, some people are saying we are going through a bad patch but come on guys a bad patch is 5 or 6 games but we are looking like we are going to finish out the season in this relegation form, good for 18 games and bad for the next 20 is not what I call a great season, our form has nose dived and there is no hiding from it we look very like what happened Sheffield and look how that's turned out. what I'm asking is how long is this form going to continue before the posters on here in the mindset that it's being a very good season start to question their own opinions? It's ok for people to say this is not good enough and we look like going backwards without being in the Deano out section, we can have a "Deano must improve section" without wanting him sacked but this blindness to what's happening our season is quite annoying, we are never all going to agree on everything but surely we can all agree that current levels are not good enough.

Whackattack

1.) 11 Apr 2021 13:23:19
Agreed - We can be critical of Smith without wanting him sacked, the reality is we have been very poor for 4 months now and if we don't improve we run the risk of carrying this poor form into next season at which point Smith will be under much greater scrutiny.

2.) 11 Apr 2021 17:35:31
I have 2 big fears mate, u nailed 1 of them “carrying this form over to next season” the second is that our current form is making us look very ordinary and will restrict our choices in the transfer window.

I think Sanson’s arrival hasn’t helped us as a squad and I think it’s had a huge impact on Barkleys confidence, he looked like a guy who was playing for a permanent move, I think he’s looked at sanson purchase and thinking well they bought him now they won’t buy me.

I did think yesterday he looked a bit better than he has lately if only he had pulled the trigger sooner a few times he was in possession at the edge of their box, I’m hoping it was a sign of improvement, he needs a goal, scoring yesterday would of put him on a huge high, I also think sanson has impeded Ramsey’s progression, for me it was a huge waste of 15 million, I miss having Conor in the squad, people forget he was in the team that started the season so well.

10 Apr 2021 17:02:10
Again let them run straight through our midfield for most of the game, again I say it "2 defensive midfielders doing 1 players job is costing us in the attacking third" that said if that trez incident had being in our box and the other way around it would of being a penalty.

Whackattack

04 Apr 2021 17:56:52
And that my friends is what you get when yo prick around at the back, delighted for Fulham they are the better team, 62 mins gone and we don't have a shot on target, worst midfield in the league, wingers are dirt and center midfielder totally ineffective.

Whackattack

04 Apr 2021 16:18:49
Yet again more lies RE jack injury from dean smith, wouldn't surprise me if he misses another 4 or 5 games, at this rate we finish around 15th,

Whackattack

1.) 04 Apr 2021 16:41:32
Why is maginn marking mitrovic for corners, mitrovic near a foot taller.

2.) 04 Apr 2021 17:07:46
Unbelievable whacky, totally agree mate.

3.) 04 Apr 2021 17:31:34
"More lies"? Get over it mate. He was out injured, trained all week but felt it again so they didn't want to risk it. Would you prefer they just throw him on regardless and he's out for the whole season?
Not everything is a conspiracy.

4.) 04 Apr 2021 17:38:52
Been training with the women's team as he felt a twinge and had to pull out 😁🙈😳.

5.) 04 Apr 2021 17:42:40
Whatever mate, he’s being saying for 2 weeks that he would play today and hey presto he’s not, just like the last 3 games and same as Barkleys injury and Wesley. I don’t believe a word comes out of his mouth anymore he just wants teams to think he has a full team to try throw off their preparations instead of preparing his own team to play something other than this tripe we watched for near 3 months now. I don’t know about you but I was looking forward to today’s game till I seen the lineup. we are no better than last year each and every game since Christmas has proved it.

6.) 04 Apr 2021 17:53:59
Players get injured and have set backs as they recover. You're entitled to believe what you want mate, just seems a bit daft to dream up a conspiracy about it and a bit dramatic to say things like you don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

I see we are rated as having the toughest run in from all 20 teams, can't say I disagree, so many big games but if we can beat a few of them it will really give us a great chance of Europe it's all in our own hands,

So with that I ask you to pick 3 teams.
1.must win
2.must not lose
3.want to win the most

Mine are 1- West Brom (Fulham also candidates here but baggies are local so more important to keep bragging rights)
2- Everton ( both home and away games will have a huge bearing on where we finish)
3- Liverpool (simply just for the sake of doing the double over reigning champions)

Interested to see everyone's take on it.

Whackattack

1.) 19 Mar 2021 11:08:21
Whack

1. Everton Home
2. Everton Away
3. Liverpool away

I don't think we will make europe to be honest but to do so we need point off everton as well as Chelsea and tottenham. Liverpool I want to win just because its liverpool.

2.) 19 Mar 2021 11:56:39
1. West Brom, home ( must keep Sandwell in their place 😁) .

2. Chelsea, home, ( last game of the season in front of 10,000 fans, would be nice to finish on a good note. A defeat in front of Villa supporters would be a deflating way to finish the season ) .

3. Liverpool, away, ( I agree, to do the double would be amazing ) .

Strangely we’ve generally done better against the better teams than the lesser teams this season. Hopefully this trend will continue for the remaining games. 🤞🏻.

3.) 19 Mar 2021 13:26:38
I agree mark I’m hoping to continue that trend, Europe is a big ask but because of the games we have left it’s still very much possible, lots of 6 pointers still to go. Good point on Chelsea at home it would really polish off our season🤞.

4.) 20 Mar 2021 08:53:09
1 Man Utd
2 Man Utd
3 Man Utd
Time we put the record straight against the penalty kings.

Although I wouldn’t mind gerrard as manager I don’t think they would sack dean to replace with gerrard. If dean were to be sacked I’d be disappointed if he wasn’t replaced with a big name established manager with experience in either the premier league or 1 of the other big leagues in Europe. I don’t think dean can take us much further but I think stick with him for at least another season unless it’s a proven upgrade.

We could buy a serious player with 40 million, I like rafinha of Leeds or Harrison. Barkley’s England days are over there’s no way he’s worth 40 million.

I thought Russel should be ashamed of his behaviour to be honest, like a spoilt child having a tantrum after in my opinion being at fault for the accident, I think the commentators would of made a bigger deal out of it if it was a foreign driver that slapped a British guy (whatever force he put into it) he should be banned for at least a race, it’s not what we want to teach our kids and if it was football he’d get at least 3 games, I agree there are better drivers than bottas for that seat i'd like to see Norris in that car.

Ed am I right in thinking that seeing as the club don’t own the stadium that any costs for extension works and revamp wouldn’t effect our ffp negatively but the extra income from bums on seats would have a positive effect on our finances? Or is it a case of even if we owned it that money spent on the stadium wouldn’t effect our ffp either way?

Whackattack

{Ed002's Note - Any infrastructure spending is excluded from the FFP calculations. The club are now renting the stadium but the agreement will have to be ratified as to whether all of the income goes to AV or whether some goes to the owning company - which is what I would expect and how other clubs did it.}

Would love to see a premier league statement in the morning saying the “big 6” will now be the bottom six and put them all on zero points and let them fight for safety lol 😂 would leave us sitting pretty in 5th with games in hand. I personally can’t see fifa or uefa standing for it, they can’t, if they do they can say goodbye to any control in football going forward, the clubs will be the shot callers and they will do as they please. I’m hoping it’s going to unsettle some players in those 6 squads it might make them more willing to move to teams like ourselves and others. it also could have the opposite effect I suppose. They should put a complete ban on any players moving to or from those teams to teams outside the “super league” if they go ahead with it.
