Kamara a quality midfielder one we would not have landed if Gerrard wasn’t in charge, the other good thing is we are starting to get our business done early which can only be a good thing. It will be interesting to see if we look to sign another quality defensively minded midfielder if so that would suggest we are going to go with one up top.

Two top signings already and the season literally finished yesterday! This is already one of the best windows we’ve had and it’s not even officially began!
It’s such a breath of fresh air to see us have a plan and act it out after years and years of waiting until the end of the window and taking what’s left!

Who do people think will be the striker? Don't know why, and not saying he would be good or that he would even come, but I think we might look at Firmino. Probably just looking at the Liverpool / Brazil connections and putting 2+2 together to get 11 :-)

I’ve been saying Kamara, Tarkowski and Origi on frees and i'd be happy with that, gives us more flex to buy a (nother) marquee signing, we know who needs to go and it wouldn’t surprise me now if Luiz signs a new deal too, if he’s been guaranteed to be pushed further forward. Origi would give us something different to what we have, if I was to pick that marquee signing, it’d be Jonathan David

I think the marquee signing will be in midfield, I don't see us getting Phillips but by all accounts he is our main target - Could we make an offer too good to turn down perhaps? Think the striker will be Suarez, not the signing I'd like to see but makes sense I guess, would probably come in as second choice striker and give us a year to fix other issues in the squad. A summer of Coutinho, Kamara, Tarkowski, Phillips, Suarez and Bassey would be pretty spectacular to be fair. This 11 (albeit highly ambitious, and unlikely) would certainly cause a lot of teams issues next season.

Oh really? Who would you say didn't set things alight Caffu? I get your point, McGinn for example wasn't at his best but I think Kamara and a Bissoma / Phillips would free him up to be more effective further up the pitch, you also have Ramsey in a similar position who could easily slot in there. I think that would be a very well balanced side, which for me was a massive issue this season and add the fact we would have a bench that includes the likes of Ings, Suarez, Bailey, Ramsey, Chukwuemeka (if he signs), Luiz (potentially), Chambers, Konsa, Nakamba, Massey etc - All of a sudden our squad depth becomes pretty impressive and more importantly balanced with options in all positions. For me I'm writing off this season, the squad was a mess and it was always going to be the case that some players under performed, I think we can already see how Gerrard is addressing the imbalance which will 100% improve team performances, I'm convinced.

I know we have been linked with Tarkowski but again I am not sure he really fits the bill for me, he is a bit one paced and we have been caught out a few times when opponents turn the ball over and hit us on the break I don’t think he will help address that problem although in fairness Burnley despite being relegated haven’t conceded that many and our defensive midfielders might help sort that out. In terms of a marquee signing I am hoping it’s a forward so I have said many times for me it would be Schick at Leverkusen but if not, and as Roma are interested in Luiz how about offering him as part of an exchange deal to bring Tammy back?

I agree Ings, I don't think Tarkowski is a sexy signing, I'd much prefer a ball playing CB but Leicester were willing to pay 40M for him in the not to distant past so there must be something there - I think he'll be a step up defensively on Konsa and Chambers but agree he's probably not exactly what we need to really push on. I see him as a Craig Dawson to West Ham type of signing, very solid defensively and good in both boxes, for now that'll do me as the priority this summer is Midfield, if we need to get Tarkowski in on a free and that allows us to sign Phillips / Bissoma then I'm all for it. Also, would absolutely love Schick or Tammy as well :-)
