Probably one of the worst pieces of "journalism" I've ever seen on the BM and that says a lot.
" According to TyC journalist Gaston Edul, Inter have seen a €15 million (£12.9m) offer rejected by Villa. However, the Champions League finalists are said to be preparing a 'higher proposal' in order to try to convince Villa to sell this summer, although it's likely to take a lot more than the €15 million mentioned in order for Unai Emery and Co to even consider cashing in."

I think they left out a zero on the figure?
With the players we bought and are trying to bring in I really can’t see him leaving this year I think he will want to see where we go this year.

Well our totally slow, cumbersome and woeful defense really did get put to sword by Bayern tonight, we sure did coke unstuck - all those pessimistic comments were right!

Did I read somewhere that Archer is back at Villa due to an obligation in his contract? If so tbh I'd be giving him a season and letting Duran go. much better attitude and money in the bank
1.) 10 Jul 2024 14:20:33
Archer is rubbish compared to duran
2.) 11 Jul 2024 00:55:09
I agree he’s not as good, but he’s never had a tantrum either and Duran is on about his 4th now

When you think about the current midfield 3 of JM, DL and YT and what we paid for them all.
We've managed to assemble one of the best midfields in the league for about 18m!
In this day in football, that's an absolute bargain.
1.) 23 Nov 2023 04:31:14
And bouba aswell free transfer neb aswell, fair play to steve bruce getting mcggin, and deano aswell getting dougie, even gerreard aswell getting us bouba .not like we are going to sell them but in todays market how much are jm, dl, and bouba worth i'd say dougie 80/90 mill bouba 60/70 and mcggin 60 mil
2.) 23 Nov 2023 13:24:05
Yeah absolutely, great shout with Kamara too who I totally forgot was a free! That’s 4 top midfields for less than £20m and all of should fetch double that if ever sold!
Some of our recruitment since we came back up hsnt worked out for the best, but some of it has been magical!
3.) 23 Nov 2023 14:31:43
Agree mate we don't rush when we sign players now we have plan which is good where b4 there wasnt

So what does everyone think about Zaniola?
Am I only one who can't help but doubt his version of events and find it hard to share his optimism?
Obviously I'd love if there's no problem and it all just gets quashed on Friday or whenever they've spoken with him.
But the logical part of me can't help remembering that two of the others have already admitted their part and one already punished. and the other awaiting punishment.
I just have a serious concern that the investigations have been pretty thorough and there's something he's either "forgotten" about or is deliberately hiding. especially as I had read there were incriminating recordings of him.
Thought there may already be a conversation about it on here.
1.) 25 Oct 2023 20:16:39
Neb, no smoke without fire, just remember he has been incriminated by one of his own. Personally if he is innocent I hope he is able to clear his name. Based on his performances so far, I would be very surprised if his loan is extended irrespective of the outcome of the inquiry.
2.) 25 Oct 2023 22:49:19
He used an app or site to play poker that is apparently illegal in Italy. If he had any involvement in football betting his agent and the club would have told him to come forward immediately. I'm sure he's intelligent enough to know that a 3 year ban for hiding it would ruin his career.
Performance wise he has been one of our better players, the goals and assists will come.
I personally think he's the missing piece of the puzzle. He has more pace and physicality than Buendia whilst having more technical ability and cleverness than Ramsey. A bit more time to gel with his teammates and I think he will start to shine.
3.) 25 Oct 2023 23:27:25
Not really sure how relevant our take on the situation is when nobody really has a clue what's gone on. How accurate his version of events is will also be largely meaningless when the facts are assessed by prosecutors. Only time will tell and hopefully we'll find out soon enough.
Until then, he remains a part of a team performing well and should have our backing.
4.) 26 Oct 2023 09:16:25
I agree with RK. If he is hiding something he is taking a huge risk. Most likely he has messages on a phone about the same time as messages from Tonali, and speculative conclusions have been drawn without real evidence. On performance, he needs a goal or assist. He's trying too hard at the moment.
5.) 26 Oct 2023 12:35:13
As a player I like him and agree that it seems like he’s trying a bit too hard at the moment, but has had glimpses of looking a top player, he’s already contributed more than Coutinho who he essentially replaced anyway.
I do however have some worries about him getting a lengthy ban. After seeing Tonali has this morning been banned and all of them being named at the same time. I would assume the evidence was aa compelling for each of those accused before they were named.
However DBS is right, until something is said officially. It’s just speculation
6.) 26 Oct 2023 20:09:42
I still want to know what's going on with Pacqueta. The evidence against him is there for all to see and yet that seems to have disappeared without so much as a conversation with him.
03 Sep 2023 15:43:10
Just a simple reminder of the times we've played well, won already this season and this has been dismissed as "it's just one game" "long way to go" "don't get carried away"
So is today, but you'll still see this page erupt with negativity from the same people who play down any positivity- regardless

West Ham said they wanted Kudos’ release clause which is £80m
19 Aug 2024 20:01:02
I have no idea how much genuine interest there ever was in him tbh the papers have loved to push it, but there doesn't really actually seem like that much of an attempt from us considering every media outlet has said he was our most wanted acquisition. We knew the price and wage demands from the get go and don't seem to have done anything except maybe try and secure a loan for a season and get knocked back.
Its all gone quiet on the Geertruida front though it seems?
12 Aug 2024 05:10:28
I can’t understand why we’d even consider selling without having someone else through the door tbh, I would’ve preferred another defender regardless let alone losing one without a replacement finalised. If Torres or Konsa get injured against West Ham like Mings did first game last season we’d be f*****
10 Aug 2024 18:46:39
I actually thought Digne was one of our better players last year and I would prefer to probably keep him over Moreno (I don’t have anything against Moreno either, just think Digne is better suited to the prem) but I guess if there’s a significant wage difference between them, then I understand why it would be Digne to leave of the pair.
29 Jul 2024 01:15:33
I dunno if it’s true or not but I read on another site that Leander is off to Italy and Phillips would be a direct replacement, we’ve offered to pay 50% of his wages (65k) which is apparently 10k less than we currently pay Dendoncker. if all that is anything like correct. I guess it’s decent business

The reason we are currently in this dire situation is that we weren’t able to spend the money we have in order to add as many players as we had liked. nothing has changed about that situation. This isn’t a case of the owners not getting their cheque book out previously, it’s a case of being to spend what you earn.
So without selling someone for top money or securing some outside investment (man city style) we are still going to be extremely limited in Jan. our most promising options are going to be players coming in on loan or even some of ours being recalled, but the chances of us spending huge are almost zero
28 Nov 2024 10:29:18
Can we recall Iiling jr?
26 Nov 2024 12:04:24
I guess the other option not explored would be to try and utilise a couple of loans? And we also have a couple of our players I think that can be recalled if needed
25 Nov 2024 21:53:11
We don't always agree Scotty, but on this you're 100% right.
25 Nov 2024 21:52:43
Yeah there really isn't any excuse for not addressing the RB issue. And it honestly does mirror the stubbornness of MON from many years ago to rectify a seemingly obvious issue!
Whilst i totally agree with you LOTM about the other players not being up to standard, that's also precisely what my concerns would be with a 6 for 6 replacement. what if we ended up with worse? or those who took months to adapt? its a huge risk to take without knowing we already have money to spend and could bring in 3 or or without losing any, that way youd know where you're at. however it seemed like in the summer we were selling players and seeing what was left!
