Watched the game live with my grandsons and watched most of the key moments on my recording of the game once i got home. Read the posts on here and agree with lots of the posts. We had a VAR decision go against us, which having heard the reason think its a poor decision but apparently right in the laws of the game. Woe is me is not the right approach and it was good to hear Stevie G say nearly is not what he wants to hear, we missed enough chances to win the game and this is becoming an issue. Ings and Watkins don't work and I think Ings will be a bench player moving forward. Target was again very poor, hence a new left back position looks as though its about to be addressed. Cash has to improve his crossing. Buendia is improving every game and i thought he was our best player. Dougie was better but still gives the ball away to often for my liking. Mcginn was good but not up to his usual high standard. I think the criticism of Mings tonight was unfair he did a good defensive job all night. Our finishing and final decision making has to improve or we are going to be saying too often " played well deserved something from the game" only to lose when we should be winning. Listen to the Stevie G interview after the game, the reason we lost wasn't VAR it was in our own hands and we fell short. Lots of positives and we go again on Saturday let's hope we can create more and be more clinical with our finishing.

Targett us getting back towards his best and I think it's unfair to say he was poor.
We all know he is a but limited in an attacking sense, the only cross that ever seems to work is the low whipped ball from deep.
My only problem if we spend all this money on Digne is that while we may get a couple more assists from that position we will suffer defensively.
His defensive positioning is well known to be lacking at best and I think this is an area Targett doesn't get deserved credit for. Targett gets a lot of blocks and interceptions simply by putting himself in an area he knows the ball will get played. Digne on the other hand will probably end up with a lot more balls being played in behind him.

I personally think that left side with targett and mings is our weak link. Cash is brilliant at getting forward fast and can carry the ball target will mostly play it back to mings or deliver a poor ball

Agree utvboys, targett doing very well defensively but since jack left he has being passing backwards to mings far to much, as a defender I like him but he’s not offering much going forward compared to cash, digne is the opposite, he’s very good going forward but not as good defensively imo, it’s a catch 22 really.

It really doesn't matter which camp you are in with Targett, Stevie G has seen all he needs hence purchasing a left back,im pretty certain the new guy is not going to be back up.

Not for the money that's being talked about, if it's digne that comes in you would expect him to go straight into starting 11.
Buendia seems to have improved hugely in recent weeks, showed so.e real class last night, some of his trickery was out of this world

Whack, if Coutinho and Buendia hit it off together i really think they will be a real force to reckon with.Buendia is improving every game and is now looking a good signing.

Yeh I had reservations about him but he's starting to show why we paid the money for him. they could be unplayable if they click, just need that enforcer behind them.
