So, it seems Barkeley isn't in the mood to tear up trees and be the driving force he has shown in the past (at Everton I mean), so for anything over tuppence he's not worth the sheckles, so who else is out there that could be a driving influence, technically gifted and has a goal or two in their locker? (Buendia obviously, but not at the money the carrot munchers want ), so i was thinking Trossard from Brighton, he's one of those players that go under the radar, signed from Genk and this is his 2nd season at Brighton, technically good, good engine, versatile across the middle, scores and creates goals and tracks back when needed, maybe a bid of 25-30 million might be accepted, and I rate him more highly than ross the part-timer, watched him since he arrived and over the last year and a half he hasn't let them down;just a thought boys.

None of the aforementioned options. Bring in another winger like Harrison or Sarr and move Jack to the middle.
Jack can play the intricate stuff through the middle and feed the wingers. If we had both of the above then we have quick and direct options on both sides. Could then have El ghazi and Traore as the tricky alternatives.

Sarr for me, if Watford don’t come up he’ll be sold. The lad is brilliant.

I like Harrison but can’t see Leeds selling.

For comparison, in the PL, goal involvements per game:

Buendia 0.22
Trossard 0.27
Barkley 0.30
Sarr 0.32
Harrison 0.48.

He's still a City owned player I believe. City may want to keep him for the future but he's also not so much younger than their current stock that he might get fed up of being loaned out for another 3-4 years.

Sarrr, end of.

Pretty sure they’ve got an option to buy for something silly like £10million come the end of the season. They’d be mental not to take that up.

He still has to agree to the move. If we can sneak 7th and the cups go our way then European football could tempt him away from a permanent Leeds move.

Good point, I think that’s the only way it happens though. He seems to love life at Leeds under Bielsa. And in last nights performance any chance of sneaking Europe seem a million miles away at the minute.

For me, I’d prefer to use the money from not signing Barkley to sign Ivan Toney. That would mean Watkins could play out on left (he works hard enough) Toney up front (but they would be interchangeable) with Grealish then in middle.

3 players that would be available for free in the summer are Amavi, Thauvin- Marseille and Draxler-PSG. If we didn't decide to waste the alleged 40m on Barkley, and we managed to get European football, that would more than cover signing on fees and wages. Not saying they'd all be 1st team players but would significantly increase our options and for a reasonable outlay. There's bargains to be had as proved with the Sanson deal.

I think it’s wingers we need tbh I’d like to see jack central where he can move around, I’ve said it here last week I like Harrison and raphinha of Leeds, watched Leeds quiet a few times and raphinha looks class they have a real gem there, Harrison they have a buy option on at the end of this season. we need another striker for defiinate Ollie can’t do it all and we need to be able to change formation a little when we need to change a game, we had 3 central midfielders last night and still overrun so what’s the point is my question, with Davis size and strength I thought last night might of being a good time to give him 30 mins to see if he could win some ball and lay off for Ollie,

Part of me thinks dean is a bit afraid to take off Barkley or traore to early cause they have that moment of brilliance in them but 1 moment in 90 mins is not a good enough excuse to have them both on the pitch as passengers.

9 times out of 10 our substitutes are like for like, we only make subs when we need to change a game and like for like usually makes no difference we need to change formation in those situations in my opinion.

Only really saw 2 midfielders last night Whack as Barkley was a passenger, personally I'd like us to go back to a 4-3-3 as the lack of effort from him since he's come back has left us at a disadvantage.

Bit left field but I’d take Minamino in Barkleys position, seems he’s surplus to requirements at Liverpool aswell.

Sarr Minamino, cover at left back and centre back and I think we could kick on next season, providing Wesley hits the ground running when he comes back.

Another player who could do a job, similar stature and skillset, even similar injury problems is Loftus Cheek. Every time I watch Fulham he always puts a shift in and that's for a team struggling at the foot of the table. Initially was pleased we got Barkley instead of him but something definitely isn't right, be it attitude, injury, fitness, application or maybe all of the above.
