Transfer window now closed till the summer.
We bought Sanson, a good buy, but should we have gone further and strengthened any other areas?
Liverpool splashed out £2.5m on Davies from PNE for a short term loan. If he proves the business they will buy him for a small amount. Good deal.
Previously they got Robertson from Hull at the time of Hull being relegated.
Do they have a policy of cheap buys to see if they fit their style?
Shrewdness in the market is huge plus. If the player fails they have thrown away a weeks pocket money.
Did we miss any opportunities?
I think we should have done exactly what Liverpool did. Look down the leagues and find a replacement player in case of injury.
As a "no nonsense merciless c/ h" to quote others, a similar player should have been found. This is an area, in my opinion, that finds our weak spot.
Mings and Konsa are playing well yet we have no cover should they both get injured.
Hopefully we won't need more cover so let's wait and see.

I think we are keeping our powder dry until the summer TOV, by all accounts Sanson is a snip at £14 million and other bargains will be available players like Julian Draxler whose contract is running out and as things stand will be available on a free whilst he may be out of our reach I am sure there are others who will also be available and worth considering. If the rumours around Chelsea being interested in Erling Haaland are true, you never know Tammy might be available to strengthen us up front!

I'm not concerned about defenders as we've plenty. Hause and Engels are 2 centre backs who can do the job, no worries. For me we still lack a striker. I'd be far more concerned if Watkins got injured than Mings or Konsa.

Striker for me all day long Dave, and has been for a long time now.
Also left back, Taylor nowhere near the quality we need as cover.
I think we have took a big risk not getting a striker in.

Agree on the striker. Traore can play there if Watkins is out but should Watkins need to be subbed we have an issue in that Traore started the game and won't have the legs left to trouble the defenders.

If he has the legs to carry on out wide, he will have the legs to replace Watkins.
He is a professional footballer, he is fit.

Seeing the videos of Wesley I’d say he’ll be back in a few weeks, can’t wait to see them play together if we have the chance in a comfortable game or 2.

Dave, I was going by the assumption Watkins would need to be subbed anywhere after the hour mark, a point in time where subbing Traore would likely be a when rather than an if.
Running the wing at that level is the most demanding job, hence why few wingers stay on for the whole 90.
