Disappointed in the game last night.
England Jack is not Villa Jack.
So often he was left out of the game while Mount and Foden ran the field.
When the ball arrived he was always heavily marked and frequently had nowhere to go, but when he had he got into the box and played some good balls.
Southgate had Saxa running down the wing and past Jack but Saxa was taking the space that Jack should move into.
It looks as if Southgate is telling him to stay on the left with little movement into the middle, this curtails his effectiveness.
Mount, Rice and Foden were able to run all over the pitch.
Jack was an observer for huge parts of the game which is not the Jack we see at VP.

I don`t know about you Oldvillan, I think Jack would probably be more effective used as a free spirit, give him the freedom of the pitch.
Who knows, he could invent a new role that could become used in world football. ("Jack in and around the box") 😂😂.

A good idea keeping it lighthearted today Dave, so here’s a little description of the man of the moment;

Jack of spades ( when he’s carrying the team and doing
the grafting )
Jack of hearts ( when he’s destroying opponents and
saluting the Holte end )
Jack of diamonds ( well we all know he’s a gem and worth
a packet, ps. I won’t suggest how much
today 😂 )
Jack of clubs. ( when he’s not playing football and
living it up )

Our Jack, the leader of the pack, he’s such a card 😁.

Better start a movement, "Free Jack"
As long as that's not his fee.

Lets not get into that all again!

Very good Mark, but you are certainly no Mark Twain 😂
Best "JACK" it in mate 😂😂.

Well I am trying Dave, some might say I’m very trying 😂.

👏👏👏 very good Dave and Mark poetry in motion, a bit like watching Jack play 😁 normal service of doom and gloom will be restored if we don't win Saturday I'm sure 😂😂😂
Ps on the "dribble removed " thought it was a reference of a poorly edited highlights package for England 😁.

Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand,

Mark Twain. 👍.

I really like Mark Twain and his work, and to be honest his quotes do inspire me somewhat.
Unfortunately he died 1910, so the world of football missed his vision and observations.
Four quotes I have listed I look at often, you have to smile and admire the truth in them :-

1.“The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog. ”

2.“The man who does not read, has no advantage over the man who cannot read. ”

3.“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. ”

4.“It's easier to fool people, than to convince them that they have been fooled. ”

Great words from a great man.

He also wrote Tom Sawyer, or was that Rush 😂.

No way, Ian Rush never wrote a book mate 😂.

Given the exchanges on the site over the last few days which I have to say I feel a little guilty over as I was the one who proffered the view that Jack was worth £120 million and it all started to go downhill after that! then we would all do well to reflect on number 3.

On quotations I must confess I personally like the Abraham Lincoln one which I think goes something like “ Better to remain silent and be thought a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt” 😀.
