I saw this morning somewhere that Scot McKenna has joined Forest for 3 million.
Have we missed a trick here, a solid left footed central defender, he would surely have provided excellent cover for Mings.

Not a bad shout if we are looking for another centre back £3 million for an international defender would not have been bad business. I remember a couple of years back he was being looked at by a number of clubs including us I think, but if memory serves me right I think he was thought to be too one paced however at £3 million I would have taken the risk he would certainly be an upgrade on Hause.

Saw this in the press a couple of days ago. Interesting that Forest got the deal moved through quickly.
Our transfers become a saga worthy of Agatha Christie.
They waited for our money then did a deal
Perhaps there is something in the pipeline.

Ask yourselves why the price went from 7 million to 3 million in 2 years, and why Forest faced no competition in signing him.

Fair point Chris, by all accounts he didn’t have the best of seasons last time around. However he has shown in the past that he has ability and he is only 23, so there’s no reason why he can’t recapture that form. If Aberdeen denied him the chance to join Villa and further his career, it might explain the downturn in his form. Of course it might have nothing to do with that, it’s merely a thought . It will be interesting to see how he does at Forest, it was a quick bit of business they’ve conducted, and could it just be the case that they stole the march on other clubs?

You don’t know whether it’s quick business mate, could of dragged on since the start of the window, or even longer. Just because it’s just broke in the major tabloids doesn’t mean it hasn’t been going on for a while behind the scenes, plus Forest not being your team, you won’t have all the little bits of info that you will get about villa of friends/ family, websites, general chit chat.

It’s all immaterial now Chris as they deal is done. Only time will tell if it proves to be a shrewd move from Forest, and an opportunity missed by us.
