There's no fixture like it for us, and I've seen some great games against them but nah, I want them down where they belong. I hope they get relegated.

For me the fiercest rivalry in Britain, outside of the old firm. There isn’t hatred like it in any of the others, but with them not making the Prem anytime soon we would be playing them in league fixtures anyway, so will be funny to see them in league one.

Agree 100% on every bit of your post chris.

Yeah. Imagine Blues in league 1 whilst Cov continue to play at St Andrews in the tier above :) absolutely humiliating.

🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant Dave, love it mate.

We’ve all seen it haven’t we Dave, is venomous on match days, it is almost like the season is irrelevant for 90 minutes. It’s hard to explain to other groups of fans but derbies like United vs Coty, or Spurs vs Arsenal really don’t come close in terms of hatred and ferocity.

It’s always at its most when we haven’t played for while, the most recent one following a gap was the cup game where Gustede scored the winner. I struggled for tickets and got some last minute but it was in the Doug Ellis upper, far right hand side in the seats that just over lap the away fans in the lower. It was ridiculous, from the minute we got there to the minute we left, wherever you looked something was going on. And then the 14 foot tall wall the police had put up when we left just summed it up!

But with us not going to play them in the league anytime soon, seing them lose away to forest green rovers would be hilarious!

On the rivialy (deep rooted hatred) subject, my best mate is a sad Blues fan, we were out socially with friends one evening some years ago, after a few drinks the ladies we discussing happy and memorable events. We went round about six of us and the usual birth of child, marriage, exotic holidays were the obvious responses, my bluenose mates response was the Enkleman incident, he actually said it was one his most favourite moments of all time, just shows what we all know, they are a sad bunch of losers. Their current bitterness and hatred must be at an all time high at the moment, long may it continue.

You will have me crying chris, I really miss those encounters, for me those days were just what football rivalry is all about, and as you say, apart from the old firm no clubs come close to the intensity and fierce rivalry of a Villa v Blues derby.
My mates were about 50/ 50 Villa Blues, and we have great memories of the matches back in the late 60s, Bridges, Vowden, Pickering, Vincent, Hockey, Latchford Brothers, mind you they were a decent side back then.
We had Rioch, Tyler, Anderson, Hole, Godfrey, etc by no means a good side but we were Villa, that was enough.
In the Barton Arms for a couple and then onto the Holte Pub to top up.
Absolutely brilliant times mate, I am sure we could talk about them for hours chris.

Doesn’t surprise me one bit scottcafu. One of their chief media staff tweeting “for 11 minutes it was dreamland”, after we beat them 4-2, sums them up😂.

I blame Mellberg for throwing it to him, he messed our evening right up. 😂😂😂😂.

18 Feb 2021 19:40:58
Only 2 things I blame Mellberg for
1-he left-but mainly because MON played him at right back, so not entirely his fault
2- whenever he decided to shave his beard we always seemed to lose. If he'd of ended up looking like Gandalf, we'd of won the league, champions league, FA and league cup as well as Wimbledon, the Grand National and the Eurovision Song Contest.
Loved the Viking 💪and he REALLY understood the derby 👍.

Me too Moose, fantastic club man, and he loved our club.
The perfect model of what a captain should be.

19 Feb 2021 16:47:08
Definitely a Villa legend and would surely be in the all time 11.

I absolutely loved Mellberg. What a fantastic playerz plus a role model for all bearded men 😂.
