Looks like Dougie is the fall guy, he didn't play well Wednesday, he wasn't on his own. Three games without Sansom starting, I just hope like quite a few of our purchases (we know the French players before in this category ) that he is not to the standard Deano thought, obviously early days, just an observation.

Hopefully just giving him time to settle in. Personally I don’t think he was brought to be a starter, but either way it’s good we are in a position where we don’t need to throw him in, having only just arrived.

I think the the reason Sanson isn't starting at the moment is because Villa are a pretty well oiled machine and we just haven't had the training days to bring him up to speed yet. You can pretty much guarantee that our regular starters are mainly resting with light training in between games at the moment which doesn't help from a coaching perspective when bringing a new first team player into the team. Unless forced, they'll take their time to make sure he's ready to start and be effective.

I would suggest the midfield part of that machine has shown serious signs of a need for an oil change.
Sanson had razor sharp match fitness when he left Marseille for B6, as each day goes by without game time that will diminish. He didn’t need bringing up to speed but he may well do soon, if he spends much more time sitting on the bench.
