Morning all. Brand new to this site tho have read it for a while. Villa fan since 70's so long suffering should be my user name lol. Very optimistic about the coming season.

Haha Ed001. I've noticed your humour is sharp! Since the 1970's. Haven't quite reached that birthday milestone yet but when/ If I do you will definitely get a slice of the birthday cake!
{Ed001's Note - just checking mate. We do seem to get a lot of more elderly posters on here these days! It seems like the younger generation prefer to just be able to shout abuse at each other on twitbook or facegram. Or it could just be because so many of us editors are old, obviously not myself, it attracts like minds.
So should I hold off on dinner or is this cake going to be a while? Only I am getting a bit peckish.
One thing I always wonder about, especially if someone is in an area where there is not just one team to choose from, how did you choose Villa? That is if you even had a choice.}

Ed001. Sorry but still another 20 years to go. You will be famished if you hold out juat for the cake lol. How I became a Villa fan is a long story but the shortened version is my uncle took me to all of the teams in the Midlands. All the others lost or the weather was bad. When we went to Villa, they won, the sun shone and he bought me an ice cream! SOLD! VTID. Do you notice the food theme in my posts lol.

Interesting that mate, so you could easily have ended up following any of the others but got un/lucky depending on your point of view. It must have been nice to have the chance to see them all and pick the one you wanted. That was really good of your uncle, not many of us give our kids the chance to make up their own minds.}
