Just a thought, quite a few of our signings at the beginning of last season took a while to get up to speed in the Prem, maybe with this season under his belt, Traore will be a much better player next year, he's played for Ajax, Lyon, the pedigree is there, maybe us going big on more wingers is a mistake, perhaps the route we should go down is buy young and hungry players to give some competition, like Olise for Traore, or maybe promote some of our youth 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸

Ally, the last part of your post is the very point some of us on here are trying to make, and that is to promote some of our youngsters.
If they are not given some game time, how are we going to know if they are up to the challenge.
By giving young players some exposure between now and the end of the season, it would tell us if we do in fact need to invest in more talent.
In truth it could save us big bucks.
By the way I agree with your point on Traore, good shout Ally.

Agree Dave, some of these lads need to play in the final games to see what they are about and could save us a lot of money that could be directed somewhere else? Think I’ve said before, would be even better for them without there being crowds. As a side note, it’s reported that Olise has an £8M release clause in his contract, I know some of the big guns are looking at him but if Deano shows he’ll give youth a chance, maybe that could sway his decision on where to go, and maybe offer Reading some of our kids on loan to help them out? If we can get Axel for £7M and Olise for £8M, that’d be some coup

For sure Ally, I like Olise very much, and would love him a VP, along with Axel that would be a great start.

What makes you so sure he won`t be joining us, you have made a statement that he won`t be, its not a maybe or a I don`t think so, its a statement.
So what is your reason for that, are we not good enough, are we not big enough, is it to far to travel, can you say why?

Fair enough but given the strength of Chelsea’s midfield and they have Conor Gallagher coming back and Billy Gilmore coming through I don’t see him playing much first team football at Chelsea.

I’m not saying he will, I just think going back to Chelsea where he will play less than 15 games next season is an odd choice for someone who has carved a name for himself by regularly playing first team football.
