What are your thoughts on Jack staying or leaving Villa Park in January.
It has to be pointed out, we are slowly but surely dropping down the table.
Ok yes we have a game or two in hand, but you have to win those games.
We have seen many times before, we are not the best team for seizing our chances, and usually fall short.
Its happened twice this season already.

Ideally I would like Jack to stay but in fairness if the right bid comes along then in fairness to Jack I think we shouldn’t stand in his way, but we shouldn’t consider anything less than £100 million in fact for me it has to be £120 million (I’m back to my delusional days 😂😂) for that kind of money we can buy 4 to 5 quality players and I think with Jack gone if we are clever with our recruitment we may be able to be be more flexible with the formations we play without having to fit Jack into a system.

We have talked about this many times John, and I agree mate.
But my question is, in your opinion do you think he will stay or go in January?

05 Dec 2020 20:46:27
It’s a painful thought though isn’t it, I mean Jack lining up against us next season, or even this one, in a City or United shirt. Personally if he goes, I hope it’s to Real Madrid.

I will say what I think then: I think he will stay past January.

05 Dec 2020 21:22:06
Dave I think he will stay in Jan probably as much as anything because no one will stump up the cash as City have said they won’t be buying in January and if he goes that’s where I think he will end up.

Carrying on the discussion re Jack I think come the end of the season we are likely to lose Jack and Douglas Luiz unfortunately. If we do who would we want to replace them? For me I would try Kalvin Phillips and Dele Alli might not get them but with the money we get we should certainly aim high recruitment wise.

I’d be ok with your choices John, but I’d add to that, Lewis Dunk, solid, no nonsense central defender, Rico Henry or Ryan Sessegnon at left back, Florian Thauvin, right wing, who is out of contract next June, and of course make Ross Barkley a permanent signing. Also, I know you’re not overly keen on Milot Rashica John, but there’s no doubting his class, so personally I wouldn’t be averse to signing him as well. All this is if Jack and Dougie go of course, and I think it would give us a well balanced squad going into the following season.

You are right mdf I am not a fan of Rashica he may be a good player but he strikes me as a bit of a disruptive influence so for that reason alone I would steer clear I would be more inclined to go for Starr in terms of left backs I like both your suggestions I would be happy with either. OV has been wanting us to sign a kick arse centre back and perhaps Lewis Dunk would be that individual I would add another name to the centre back search Mason Holgate he can play there or at right back which gives us more flexibility and if we do sign Dunk I can’t see Mings settling for a place on the bench so would provide cover.
It’s great playing fantasy transfer window isn’t it😂.

It is mate. I think we could go 3 at the back though John. Konsa, Dunk, Mings with Cash and Sessegnon/ Henry as wing backs. 😉.

With Phillips, Alli and McGinn as the midfield 3 or maybe even Barkley instead of Alli could work. It would be interesting to see.

If mings and mgginn don't get there act together they could be gone aswell, I for 1 wouldn't sell Jack but if 100mil bid came in I'd sell I'd rather sell to real or Barcelona and the way they are playing at the moment he'd get in both teams real and Barcelona done in my view its a rebuilding job now.
