Anybody following Villa outside of match days knows it has been the message every window.
It was first page when I first searched but has somehow dropped away. Still wasn't that hard to find it though.

Cheers mate, don’t need to be so defensive.

14 Nov 2020 12:20:42
That’s obviously an old article with its references to Suso.

14 Nov 2020 12:41:09
I did think that whatattack.

Need to read the original discussion. I already stated that it was 2019 and it was just an example article to show my point that the leadership have made it clear from day one that there will be an intention for players to be sold at a profit to make the club sustainable.

14 Nov 2020 23:37:01
I suppose the proof will be in the pudding, so far not the case, both Grealish and McGinn could have been sold at huge profits so far under the new regime and neither has been.

15 Nov 2020 07:35:58
Like I said before, you need the whole squad before you can afford to lose pieces. Leipzig and Dortmund weren't selling their top players from day one.
There's also a difference between selling a player for a profit and selling your star player.
Selling Jack at £50mill made no sense when his trajectory meant another season would probably triple that valuation.
In regards to Mcginn nobody ever came close to making any offers. We likely would only have ever got £15-20mill last summer, nothing like the £50mill that was claimed we valued him at.
You keep making counter points to a points i'm not even making.

15 Nov 2020 09:32:47
I guess we’ll see, as I said and backed up with multiple examples, so far not the case.

15 Nov 2020 10:37:35
Because it was never going to be the case.
End goal means exactly that. You can't dispute something before its at the point its due to happen because it hasn't happened yet.
Your argument has literally been the equivalent of "It won't be sunny on June 1st 2025 because it hasn't happened"

15 Nov 2020 11:09:03
I don’t understand why you are so defensive, you think we will follow a model of Dortmund or Leipzig based on a snippet from the manager last year. I don’t think we’ll follow that model, based on us not taking opportunities we have had so far to do so.

As I said time will tell, but you don’t need to look for an argument where there isn’t one, people can have opposing opinions.

15 Nov 2020 11:46:07
I'm not being defensive. I'm simply pointing out that you created an opposing point to a point that wasn't made. You created the argument by saying I'm wrong based on something I didn't say.
The opinion "I don't think we will go down that road" is valid, your opinion of "we're clearly not because we haven't sold anyone yet" isn't because that wasn't my position.
That article was one example, I've clearly stated that the whole leadership have stated the same thing in multiple interviews. My prediction is based on far more than the one example I posted.
I could be wrong and the owners change their mind and decide to keep throwing money at the team every year but it will be at least another 2-3 years before we know.

15 Nov 2020 12:10:08
I don’t think I ever clearly said “You’re wrong” but if I did, I apologise.

Like I said I just don’t think we will go down that road, doesn’t mean I’m right, I just don’t think we will. But I can see, from the evidence you’ve provided why you think we would.
