Archer at it again, Two this time .Saw his first goal, tight angle left foot, he is a natural instinctive striker . He doesn't look for another touch, his first instinct no matter what foot is to hit it brilliant.

Watched the game Dave, he definitely looked instinctive and sharp. Looks quite quick, everything you need from a striker. I would have loved to been able to listen to the discussions between sporting director, manager and owners when they looked at our striking options for the rest of the season. Perhaps they said we can let our leading scorer go, our best young talent out on loan and we will manage with Ollie and Jon, it should be enough. let's hope it is.

I really like Archer and I think he could cut it at premiership level but I don’t think he will get a chance with us, for whatever reason Emery doesn’t seem to think he fits in with how he wants to play, if he had I don’t think he would have prioritised the signing of Duran who is 2 years younger than Archer. If as we believe a top striker is on the agenda in the summer, and Emery wants Watkins to at the very least be part of his squad going forward, then with Duran that says to me no place for Archer. I think we will sell in the summer I just hope we include a big sell on fee.

The Duran deal was in the pipeline long before Emery came in so he’s obviously a club signing rather than an Emery priority

Lotm, tend to agree, however perhaps if he really performs for Middlesbrough, it might make it difficult for Emery to ignore him, let's hope this is the case. I heard whilst he was there, from a Preston season ticket fan that he didn't look premier quality, obviously in a better side he has more of a chance to shine,whatever happens we need to buck our ideas up with our attacking plans because this window was not what we needed.

I'd like him to get a chance but he's very similar to Ings so not sure he suits us yet.
Maybe once we get another winger Emery might consider moving Bailey wide and Archer partnering Watkins but he does seem to prefer players with a little height.

I think he'll be sold in the summer, probably to Boro if they are promoted - Can't see him at Villa next season, hopefully we'll get a nice sum of money for him.

Sheffield Utd defence was all over the place. If Archer was good enough/ready then he'd have stayed. Duran would've then been allowed to stay with Columbia. Neil Maupay looked good in the championship but he's not in the Prem.

Toney looked good in league 1 looked good in the championship and guess what he looks terrific in the premiership it’s all about being given a chance in fairness what more can he do than score goals at whatever club he’s at.

Agree. But he didn't score for us apart from in the league Cup against lower opposition. It took Mitrovic ages to be decent in the Prem. Problem is we haven't got 3 seasons to wait for him to be decent. How many on here would add him to the "not good enough " list if he didn't hit double figures?

ive always said he's our best finisher in my opinion,he need 90mins thou not 20mins here and then i'd put money on it aswell he'd score more goals than watkins aswell

Archer isn't a better finisher than Ings and doesn't have the all round game to match Watkins. We're going down the same track as Man utd. A centre forward to press, work and to play in 2 fast wide players that come in off the wings ala Rashford/Sancho. Ings and Archer don't do that. That's why they're not at the club anymore.

who are our 2 fast players on the wings watkins and bailey are our quickest players,we are 1of the slowest teams in prem in my opinion
even our wingbcks or fullbck are not blessed with pace,we need a lot more pace in summer window
