Some back tracking over whether we are interested in Kadioglu or not, seems like a number of premiership clubs are interested including Arsenal. We are also allegedly interested in Denzel Dumfries at Inter but he supposedly needs some convincing re the stature of the club which tells me he isn’t really interested so maybe we should move on and Ben Johnson from West Ham whose available on a free I have to say I struggle to understand that one he can’t get into West Ham first team so to my mind he isn’t an upgrade on Matty Cash but we will have to wait and see I guess.

So after all the talk of arsenal wanting luiz in the summer, and huge admirers of Watkins, the latest is they are now interested in Bailey, seriously is there any truth in any of these stories or are all these journalists just playing pin the tail on the donkey in the hope they eventually get one right?♂️
How are they fixed in relation to ffp, they have spent quiet a few Bob the last few seasons and I'm sure they have quiet the wage bill, any ED's able to shed any light on their current financial situation?

Arsenal interest has moved on to a preferred option but if they are unable to sign him and if Partey or Jorginho move on, then interest may return. Spurs may offer an option. Aston Villa will resist a sale. Wildcard would be a return to Manchester City to replace KP.

We shouldn’t be surprised at our top performers attracting interest from other clubs, over the last 18 months we have gone from being a side on the edge of the relegation zone to challenging for European football that will attract interest from the top sides. We have protected ourselves somewhat by getting Bailey, Watkins and Luiz to sign new contracts recently so we are in the driving seats when it comes to sales. That said however I do think that we are likely to let one of our stars go in the summer in order to ease any profitability and sustainability pressures.

Papers have changed their mind to say the bid was only £7.5m.
£15m was way too high considering reports were they only wanted £10m.
Some of the inflated figures we may see will probably include any sell on percentage on top of any other clauses.
I'm not convinced he'll make much difference as the noise only seems to have come from a couple of cup matches. We do need more competition on that left side though and he's not overly expensive at anything less than £10m.

Cyril ngonge of Hellas Verona, never heard of him but I read a report saying we had a 9 million bid accepted for him. the money seems about right, I can't see us spending more than 30 million across 2 or 3 players

His stats are good, and there is a video of him doing a scorpion kick goal similar to Girou for Arsenal a few years back. Looks like he's going to Fiorentina though.

Olsen almost with his usual 3 goals conceded, nearly outdoing himself managing to do it in 45 mins, that new guy we bought has to start on Thursday, you might say that it wasn't his fault but his positioning in general and especially for the first goal is awful, he's not a premier league level keeper, nobody will change my mind on that.
more injuries are surely not going to help us see out the season, we need at least 1 more win imo.

To be fair Olsen didn't do a huge amount wrong tonight but his inability on the ball immediately wrecks our game plan. And him charging out and getting nowhere caused the indecision with Carlos for one of the big moments. Though Carlos should know better and just clear it properly.
I said a while back our retention in the final third would come back to bite us and that played a big part tonight and is why some don't think Ollie is top tier, though it's certainly not just him.
We got away with one tonight, but top 4 is still doable.
Need Arsenal to do us a favour tomorrow.

Olsen did one thing wrong and immediately made up for it. You have to have been a keeper to know how difficult it is to save that first goal, low and hard and just that awkward distance between saving with a foot or an outstretched hand. His positioning was correct to cover as much of the goal as possible.
His ability on the ball wasn't the problem either, nobody was showing for it or pulling away from players. He played some decent mid range passes but Ollies control deserted him, Diaby just doesn't even try to get involved physically and Rogers started to encroach on Watkins space a little too much.
A draw is still fine though, 4-6 points from Brighton and Palace should be more than enough.

Each to their own, but I think it's difficult to see how the way we play and Olsen's inability with the ball at feet don't impact our defensive confidence and set up. As I said, he didn't do a huge amount wrong today, other than his woeful atte.pt to come out and creative a needless moment of indecision between him and Carlos, but generally speaking it's pretty widely accepted he's a liability for us and we need a better back up. Tonight was certainly a much bigger set of issues than just him though.
Still, we got away with a point and given our schedule we can't expect to be great every game. It's all about points at this stage.
Hopefully Martinez and Tielemens injuries aren't too bad!

I suppose it's not inconceivable that we might even reel Liverpool in, with their current form and our recent run, beat Chelsea and then beat them and we are realistically in with a chance of 4th

I was thinking earlier today, if we get top4 we could do it again because chelsea are in a mess and could have points deduction nxt season, manu are a joke at the moment and lpool looks like its an end of the klopp era so if we make top4 and make 2/3 class signings we could do it again, do people agree or disagree?

We're pretty much guaranteed 5th now after United playing out another draw, 3rd is definitely a step too far though.
The pressure is still on as I don't think they will want to miss out on Champions League now. Hopefully the team will have the confidence to express themselves now though knowing we've already made progress on last year.

To be honest I don’t think onana should miss it, the rules are clear about the yellow cards.
My issue is uefa moving the goalposts after the Lille match, the rule clearly states that the yellows were wiped at the end of extra time, so how can it then lead to a suspension if he has a clean slate, the fact that there was no written rule about the third yellow card and the fact that they had to deliberate on it for hours and then decide, you can’t make up rules when the competition is over that players have to abide by it’s absolutely ridiculous, add in the fact that the ref was a total clown and reacted to every moan from the crowd and I think the answer is very clear, it should of being “nothing we can do about it this year but we will put a rule in place for next year”

Excellent performance, I thought we would look tired today but they were well up for it, within touching distance of champions league football, lots of winnable games for us aswel.
to be fair if Bournemouth hadn't got the penalty it would of being a clean sheet they had a few half chances but I thought we really restricted them, just look what they did to united last week.
Diaby, Bailey, Watkins, rogers all brilliant today, maginn and tielemans solid in the center midfield.
I have to ask this question, do we look more positive with the ball without luiz in there? Today and last week I felt we played much more ball forward than other performances recently. maybe it's just me but I feel sometimes for all luiz special moments he can be a bit negative at times. I'm certainly not as worried about losing him for 80+ million anymore. rogers looks the part, so strong on the ball and I think we have being missing a big strong lad like him in midfield.
no goal for Watkins but 2 more assists, what a season for him, top class

This is probably our most important game out of the remaining ones, I think we need to go all out to beat them and if we put 9 points between us and spurs before they play it will totally demoralise them and then it should be very achievable to get a result or 2 from our last 3 games.
