Fantastic appointment, great to have JT back - Now let's get our defence sorted and kick on, we will certainly score bucket loada under Smith - Kodjia, Tammy and a rejuvenated Hogan, watch out Championship!

my fingers have been crossed for decades i think they're stuck like it!

22 Sep 2018 23:28:18
Surely a loss at Bristol and Bruce is gone? By some miracle, we are only 5 points from the summit, this leage is here for the taking but we need to act fast.

I've seen a lot of posts lately about how boring the whole Bruce in / Bruce Out debate has become and I completely agree. It's redundant, the only opinions that matter are those of the owners and I just hope that they are paying close attention, not just to our results, style of play and general lack of identity but to the league in general. A swift and wise appointment allied with our talented squad leaves us with a great chance of promotion, procrastinate and we will be here for a long long time.

1.) 23 Sep 2018 10:08:05
But who can we get in.

2.) 23 Sep 2018 10:36:04
That's the million dollar question who!

3.) 23 Sep 2018 11:42:30
There are plenty of options, my first choice would be Brendan Rodgers - He will instil a sense of indentity and get us playing vibrant attacking football.

In a honesty though, I don't accept the "but who do we get" excuse for keeping Bruce in the job - A manager that will play players in their correct position, regardless of historic success or win ratios or experience is instantly an improvement on Bruce - And I think / hope we would be looking at managers with more to them than that. He needs to go, we are only five points off the top, there is plenty of time to win the league but we need to act or we will blink and the gap will be in insurmountable 15+ points.

4.) 04 Oct 2018 16:51:16
mate of mine up in geordie land says benitez is fed up of all the mike ashley stuff and the club's sale and might be tempted elsewhere, possibly villa park.

13 Sep 2018 21:37:13
De Laet leaving now. Is Bruce determined to get rid of our entire defence?

1.) 13 Sep 2018 22:55:04
I would imagine that If a new centre back is incoming at £60,000 a week, we need to get somebody off the wage bill to comply with ffp.

20 Aug 2018 14:42:42
Bolaise off to Boro, who are we realistically getting?

I seen we were linked with Declan Rice, that would be an excellent signing.

Think we need a CB, LB, LW and ST.

Any thoughts or Rumours?

Rice, Chester, Tuanzebe

Ojo, Hourihane, McGinn, Green

1.) 20 Aug 2018 15:01:21
Don't forget Hogan to sheaf Utd is a possibility,
Ojo is a real hit and miss performer,
We need a good old fashioned centre forward in my view,
Don't ask me who,
C/ back and a l/ back are no -brainers.
It's all in the air at the moment,

27 Jun 2018 10:35:52
Anybody have any news on potential takeover or investment?

1.) 27 Jun 2018 16:51:21
It's close. Xia wants to keep some sort of stake but the only way he can get good money is full sale. 3 parties are in 2 have put offers forward.

2.) 27 Jun 2018 20:31:01
Anyone have any news that isn't in all the media posts available?

Think its going to me a busy couple of days. Anybody hear any rumours as to who we may sign?

I see Hayden, Cahill and Mings mentioned today, think that would be a very strong 11.

Bree, Chester, Cahill, Mings

Hayden, McGinn

El Ghazi, Grealish, Adomah

1.) 29 Jan 2019 17:13:15
Stoke defender Moritz Bauer is another option being talked about. Unfortunately it looks as though we might have to wait until the summer if we want Romaine Sawyers from the Bees. Reports suggest we may also let Bjarnason go.

23 Jan 2019 11:45:31
I don't believe this season is over, far from it, however if we do fail to gain promotion this season how would you like our 11 to look going forward? Personally I believe a young and hungry team is the way to go, how would something like this fair next season?

James (Chelsea)
Henry (Brentford)
Tuanzebe (United)
Ampadu (Chelsea - Loan)
Buendía (Norwich)
Grant (Charlton)

James, Chester, Tuanzebe, Henry

Ampadu, McGinn

Buendía, O'Hare, Green

1.) 23 Jan 2019 13:02:42
No Jack?

2.) 23 Jan 2019 15:39:10
I'd love him to be there Kingy and if he is he's an obvious starter but can't see it if we don't go up - Can you?

3.) 24 Jan 2019 09:10:26
I'd like to think so but in a real world probley not. can't keep holding him back as he's a class act that will play at the very top of the game. Shows how much we miss him when he's out injured and is rather worrying going forward for us. I trust dean and suso to sort us out though over the next couple of windows.

05 Oct 2018 09:15:11
More I think about it, the more I feel Arteta would be an excellent appointment - Anybody agree?

Also, in your opinion, who is going to be our next manager?

1.) 05 Oct 2018 11:01:08
I think he another who is going to be good bk but wrong time for me same with Henry an jt, I've changed my minds loads trying to think whose best ha ha, for me i'd go Rodgers, rafa, or Neil Lennon he takes no rubbish plays good football forget the Bolton mess when he wad there celtic, an now hibs doing a good job, or maybe mellberg with yorke as his assistant that could work mate.

2.) 05 Oct 2018 11:55:05
Not convinced with Rodgers. Had it far too easy in pub league up north for past 2 - 3 seasons. Now there's more competition he don't look so good.

02 Oct 2018 22:37:04
Havent posted in a while - Are there still pro-Bruce posters?

29 Aug 2018 17:24:58
Villadaz, so you would happily have Bruce remain - And if he doesn't succeed again, what then?

Yes we made the playoffs but is that acceptable with the leagues most expensively assembled and experience squad? Would you expect the likes of Nuno Santo or Marcelo Bielsa or Dean Smith or David Wagner do a similar job? I certainly wouldn't, I would expect them to dominate the division and gain automatic promotion. Why, because they are much better managers.

Bruce doesn't develop and improve players, his policy is to replace rather than educate, his football is dire, he doesn't know his best 11 after 70 games, he continues to play players out of position, we develop other teams players at the expense of our own, we don't seem to have a game plan or identity. What am I missing? Honestly, fill me in!

1.) 29 Aug 2018 18:45:05
Well said BK.

2.) 29 Aug 2018 19:07:19
BK believe it or not I don't like the way Bruce sets up for some games but its the Championship and we have the most experienced manager there is to get teams out of this league that my friend is a fact. Would I get rid of him if we got up yes I would as his record in the PL is poor. As for the youngsters c'mon bud if they was anygood don't you think bigger teams would come in for them we like any other team send these youngsters out on loan to get experience that's the way of the football world i'm afraid. Apart from Wolves last season name 1 team since we have been in this league that have stood out every other team have had to grind out results like have we fell short at the final hurdle and if wasnt for a bad refereeing descision we would have gone on to win that game but eh oh. And for the record our owners who are billionaires in their own right have backed him are they wrong?

3.) 29 Aug 2018 19:19:14
Fulham, Huddersfield, ncastle, brighton.

4.) 29 Aug 2018 19:22:29
Get it right daz new owners were going to get rid but fans saved bruce owners listend but they won't nxt time.

5.) 29 Aug 2018 19:46:48
And you know villa4eva because? And if it was the fans then the majority of the fans then must be stupid then because they want to keep Bruce shot yourself in the foot there fella.

6.) 29 Aug 2018 19:54:49
Nice1 villadaz, I agree with u mate, up the villa, let’s get ready for Saturday, tough game, hopefully win, it b tough, a point Wundt b end ov the world b4 the international break⚽️👍.

7.) 29 Aug 2018 20:01:55
While brucie is there let’s back him no matter how much slagging him off slating him on here he will still be our manager ok he is a bit of a dinosaur sometimes but we’ve have only got half the 1st eleven we did last year because of loans going bk and injuries plus his hands were tied until we got took over once we have a fully fit squad and hopefully 1 or 2 more loans I can honestly see us do alright and if we don’t by Xmas then I will reluctantly be jumping on the brucie out bandwagon as well.

8.) 29 Aug 2018 20:06:24
No villa daz I think ul find its the bruce fans who would shot them selves in the foot mate ul see time will tell owners will what most of see every week an that is dross every week, there's not point arguing because we are stuck with the useless potato head for now.

9.) 29 Aug 2018 21:21:24
Villa4eva you mentioned 3 teams being exciting that I have to disagree with. Newcastle, Huddersfield and Brighton all relied on a solid base for the majority of the season and most of their wins were by the odd goal. Huddersfield nearly didn't make the play offs due to their gung-ho start to the season.
We played gung-ho under RDM and look where that got us.
Bruce has said he wants the players to move the ball quicker and get further up the pitch so how is it his fault that players aren't finding space and taking 10 touches when 2 will do?
I don't agree with some of his subs and think there should be more fitness work to keep energy up for the relentless run of games but why keep saying he is telling them to play the opposite to what he says in interviews just because that is what ends up happening?
Our boo boys are too quick on the trigger when someone tries something but it doesn't come off and the players quickly become scared to take any risks.

I think if my Father was earning 2 Million a year, with 40 years experience, and managing one of the largest football clubs in the country he would have a thick enough skin to know this is football.

The cabbage was disgraceful but some of the comments on here are comical, I don't condone it by any stretch and hoped Villa fans would have more class but surely you have all seen much worse incidents at other clubs.

Villa fans amaze me, we have been shouting to get Bruce removed for months and now he is gone we focus and argue about the manner in which he was removed - Let's look forward, together.

I think his days are now numbered, and I feel he knows it - It's gone beyond a joke now, and let's be honest we haven't really played anybody of note! I dread to think what Boro, West Brom, Leeds, Derby, Swansea etc would do to us under Bruce.

He has lost the fans and by the looks of it, the dressing room. I'd like to think we will have a new manager in place come the end of the international break.

Opinions like this are everything that's wrong with football, and in particular Villa. If you can't see what Dean Smith is trying to then there really isn't much hope for you. We are in the process of a full transition at Villa, top to bottom, it's not going to happen over night but once Grealish returns we will be in much better shape - A playoff spot is still up for grabs!

We aren't talking Manchester United or Real Madrid Villa4Eva - Aston Villa are currently mid table in the Championship. Villa are a historic club with a huge fanbase but we need to be realistic, he is the perfect fit for Villas current status and will get us up given time and patience. This kind of talk is pointless and unfair considering he's only been here 15 minutes.

Agreed - we will be what, 8 points off 2nd? That is doable with the right appointment!
