I know Ollie pretty much bagged in the end, but feel like we missed a trick by not taking trezeguet off for Davis as first sub instead of jj for sanson, Ollie wasn't holding it up at all against their physical cbs 🙈 feel like might of been better to move him on wing up against dummet and Davis for the physical battle that was going on in centre 🙈.

Totally agree there, the last few games have been crying out for someone to occupy the opposing centre backs and support Watkins. Without Grealish on the pitch we need someone to share the load with Watkins so that when he runs the channels, there's someone not allowing the other defender to just play as a free sweeper. Unlike some I actually still think he's got potential and needs a loan or consistent run of games rather than coming on for 5 minutes once a month, but either way, there's no point him being on the bench if we're never going to change anything up front and just hope that bringing on Barkley or Trezeguet (both been liabilities for a while now) makes a difference.
Frustrating couple of weeks but still huge improvement on last season, just need to hope for some major upgrades in the final third and next season could be special. Also huge credit to our defense who are now looking like they could develop into a very strong unit for seasons to come.

At least if looks like a good alternative to our normal kind of set up then shows we have another bow to our string, specially with Wes returning soon, and gives Davis a chance to show he can be a player rather then the odd 5/ 10 mins when chasing a game.

I’m inclined to agree with you DBS and Pricey.
I think the demands Deano has put upon Ollie this season are now taking their toll. I have always felt that KD could do a job for us, he’s never going to be a prolific goal scorer but he’s a quick, powerful lad who could be a handful for any central defender. If Jack isn’t available for the Tottenham game Pricey, I would go with Philogene -Bidace on the left, and let’s see what he can do.
I honestly thought he would be on the bench last night, as he didn’t feature in the u23 defeat to Fulham yesterday afternoon. If he’s not injured it would seem a bit odd leaving him out of the squad when he might have been able to help the u23 achieve a win. 🤷ðŸ¼
Are there any amongst us who still think we have a chance of getting into Europe? I would doubt it considering the levels of performance in recent games.
So if that is the case then, would it not be a good idea to see what the likes of Philogene - Bidace, Chukwuemeka, Barry, etc could do between now and the end of the season. I think so, how about you guys 🤔.

Yeah would definitely start putting the youth on the bench and actually using them. as like you, I think Europe is gone for this season, so ultimately I’d use the remainder of this season with one eye on next season.
