Ed mate, what's going on, there seems to be a resurgence of anti-villa personnel.
Glad I am not replying in ink and postage, I would be broke by now.

{Ed001's Note - it is what happens when teams go on a bad run. Some people have no patience and think that a newly promoted team should just stroll the league.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What's your view on us Ed from the outside looking in please?

{Ed001's Note - you are just a newly promoted team who have the usual newly promoted teams' struggles. You have not had luck on your side, which you need if you are to fly like Sheff Utd for instance, but the key is to be patient. Teams like Burnley got relegated but stood by Dyche and are now firmly established in the Prem. It takes time to build a team to compete.

The hardest thing in the world is to find a goalscorer and that is the big issue you have. If you can somehow find one then you will be fine. Not sure Wesley is the answer though, as he does not look to be a goalscorer.}

Very well put Ed, I know you can`t show any sort of allegiance on these forums.
From your post, it seems you are a man with some patience at least.

{Ed001's Note - the editors can show allegiance mate, that's not an issue. We are all football fans of various teams. But the key is to have patience and not just panic into changing things that do not need changing. Are Villa's problems completely down to Smith? Clearly not, so not sure firing him is the answer. Recruitment needs to improve, first and foremost, imo.}

I suppose you know anyway by my posts, but I totally agree mate.
I don`t think getting rid is the answer at all.
The bit you say about recruitment will be the game changer one way or another in my opinion, I think it will be improved, it has to be.
Thanks for your feedback Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate. Hopefully 2020 will be a better year.}

Thanks Ed for your reply. I've said many a time on here I have more Blues fans mates than Villa for the simple fact that a lot of Villa fans are deluded where as Blues fans are realists. I gave up my season ticket 2 years ago so that I can spend more time with my family and also to get away from the poison of some Villa fans. 2 years ago we nearly lost our club some fans have very bad memories.

{Ed001's Note - a lot of fans of every club are deluded to be fair. People tend to lose their heads when it comes to footie.}

Guys Ed001,Dave, Daz, i read with interest your individual comments and all make sense, however flip things on their head, I would like your views at what point do you address when things patently aren't working. Many on here vent their spleen, excessively at times, however like most people at work we are all judged on our performance and many companies are brutal if people are not meeting their expected goals. We see the money our beloved teams players and management earn, these days earnings are like a lottery win. I think expectations should be high and again like cut throat businesses failure should not either be rewarded or have continuity of employment. Football is a business and the same principles of success, failure, under achievement should apply like it applies to the rest of us. I welcome you responses guys.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is you have to address the issues in the right order. You can't complain about the manager until you give him the right players. Is there a better forward in the squad than Wesley? I don't see one, so he has to stick with him. And so on through your team. There is little he can do other than maybe play a Roy Hodgson ultra-defensive style or a Tony Pulis long-ball style. Both would take time to coach into your players, so you have to stick with what you have and just find better players. At least that's how I see it.}
