One thing we haven't got in this relegation dogfight is a goalscorer Watford got deeney, Southampton Inga, Norwich pukki, Everton riccarlson, not good I say bring in big Sam he will make us solid and hard to beat who cares if we play ugly it's about staying in this league that matters we don't want to be a yo yo club, I'd even take pullis, an Moyes aswell, sum villa fans slate them all but we experienced head at the helm, Smith got us up and fair play for that but really was he really going to do ote he's not got any experience, we need to grind out result s now stop trying to play fancy football and play as a team and have a system that makes us solid not 4,3,3. Doesn't work at all.

Big Sam, lads we are better than Big Sam, be better than Big Sam!

Why are we better than big Sam bk were in the bottom 3 we can't score up front were shipping goals in at the bck midfield is pant apart from mginn and we don't look like winning a game, who else is going to take the job who is better, be realistic no porch or benitez or dyche as if there going to leave or come to us, yes we are a big club but everything is wrong apart from the owners director of football and scouts need sacking along with the manager.

If we bring in Big Sam, what are the next steps? He keeps us up, does he get the job permanently? If so that is a total culture shift at the club. It's reactive measures like this that keep the likes of Sam, Moyes, Pulis in jobs when let's be honest, bar rallying a defence they don't offer much.

Whether it's currently successful or not you have to admit the club has a vision and strategy from a style of player and recruitment perspective - There are question marks over whether Dean Smith is the right person to fulfil this strategy (personally I think his game management and team selection leaves a lot to be desired, and may end up costing him his job) and if he isn't then we need to target a manager that will fit the club's new approach.

Appointing a Big Sam is the nuclear option, a sticky plaster to get us over the line. If Smith is to go we need to be more ambitious and tactical in our appointment as Big Sam is not the only manager that could take us to safety.

Like who bk 3 names?

3 names who could keep us up?

I think you are missing the point -My point is if, and it's a big if, Villa decide to part ways with Smith we need to be tactical in our next appointment.

I would be embarrassed if we appointed Big Sam because that demonstrates we aren't interested in building the club and developing a squad, we would be happy to just stay in the league - This goes against everything we understood under our new owners.

Are you happy with just staying up? Like the days under Lerner when we have 6 x 5 year plans in 4 years, bouncing from manager to manager, from philosophy and strategy to the next? If so, then get Big Sam in, personally I have bigger ambitions for the team than that, if Smith is not that man it needs to be a tactical rather than reactive appointment.

I get what your saying mate but right now we're going no where but the championship and big Sam is a class manager 8th with Everton wots wrong with that, unless the owners splash the cash and get poch, or benitez or dyche but I doubt it, if we loose to Norwich he should go in my view and if results go against us we could be 6points off safety.

Look, if we lose to Norwich we are in massive trouble - It would be a stick or twist situation for Villa!
