Good analysis Dave and most of them had another striker with them to play ALONGSIDE. The poor guy is probably homesick and is trying to adjust to life in England. Cut this guy some slack no wonder its hard to attract players when we have clueless fans who expect players to hit the ground running I hate our fan base at times. I believe in Wesley like I did in Santa when I was younger.

Sorry guys, we paid 22 million for goals and he's not producing them. We never learn from our mistakes in buying players from lower rated foreign teams and expecting them to cut it in the prem. Kodja may not hold the ball up as well as wes but i'm sure he would have a better goal ration by now.

Who said we paid it for goals? We paid it for a player to fit into the system. Part of that is goals but a bigger part is to bring the midfield goalscorers into play.
Deano has said countless times he wants the goalscoring burden to be spread and not loaded on one player, comments like 'he was bought for goals' show that no attention is paid to what anyone at the club are actually saying.

RK it is well known that to have any chance in the prem you need someone who will score 15 - 20 goals as season. That isn't Wes. Good teams always have people who weigh in with 10 -12 goals but always one main man. Look at us last season we had Tammy with 20+, with others adding their bits. So yes we paid for goals and aren't getting them. Goals in the Belgium league don't equal goals in the prem.

1. We didn't pay it, the club did (I'm aware the fans pay the ticket prices but it's the club's money at that point) .
2. Unless you're part of the transfer committee then you can't definitively say why they bought him.
3. Wes didn't reach 20 goals in the Jupiter league so it would be naive to think he was bought to score that many in the prem, a notoriously difficult league to notch that many goals in.
4. Most mid-table and below clubs get 10-15 out of their top scorer and then the share from the rest determines whether they stay up or not. 15-20 from top and 10-12 from second would likely get you into Europe or even CL. Your stats show that expectations are unrealistic amongst some 'fans' on here.

To follow up my point Watford finished 11th with top 4 scorers as 10,9,7,6. Only 1 player in double figures and they were comfortable.
Wesley still has plenty of time to reach those double figures and I would hope El Ghazi, Jack, Trez, John and Conor could all get around the 7-10 mark by the end of the season.
