3-1 was generous. I don't know if it was the heat or just the players saving their energy for Spurs but there was a lot of sloppiness in our play for the most part. Midfield went missing today, hopefully everyone is ready to give 100% next week because they'll need to give a proper performance.

2 free kicks and a late one when everyone switched off. General play was all long balls or played down the side. Conor was strong at set pieces as usual but was never really in positions to link the defence to the front line and there were quite a few moments we ended up in trouble from the press due to this.
As Davedean mentions in his post the ref was being extremely lenient to them but we weren't playing around them enough.

To some extent I take your point, but it is a friendly and they are a top German outfit.
Some games you have to ride out and take your chances when they come your way, we did that.
We are doing very well at the moment, and we as supporters must learn not to expect the team to play well and beat everything in front of them.
yes we were not at our best today, and I think the team and manager would admit to that.
Liverpool have lost 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 friendlies, are they a good side, yes of course they are.
Accept we are a giant who is just waking up from a very long sleep, what are you like when you wake in the morning?

At the end of the day it's a friendly and it doesn't really mean anything. Spurs play very similar to what we saw from Leipzig so just saying they'll probably have to be on it a little more. Jack barely had a touch, Heaton can't make 4 or 5 world class saves every match and Conor's delivery can't be that perfect every time. I'm looking forward to the season and hoping we iron out the details ASAP as a good start makes the rest of the season much easier.

I must have watched a different game, there was a few balls into the channels but I don’t think that sums up the general pattern of play. Midfield will be more combative with Nakamba or Luis in Hourihanes place.
