Yes please, he's a very good footballer and would provide competition and flexibility across the entire midfield - Issue (and it's a good one to have) in midfield is that, to upgrade our starting midfield you are getting into the elite level of player. Take Kamara for example, who is a guaranteed upgrade on him? I'm sure we can all name a few players but I bet they either play for the top clubs or are en route to a top club very soon. It's a great position to be in but that means Villa will need to bring in the likes of Adams (who I really rate) to beef out the central areas, add flexibility and quality off the bench (assuming he's not in the initial 11).

I have to disagree bk, talking to the Leeds supporters they don’t rate him to much, he’s being linked with every club outside the big six but I see no bids on him, if he was 1 of our summer transfers I’d have to say I’d be disappointed

I’m with you Whack I’m not convinced, I’m also not sure with Ramsey, Luiz, McGinn, Kamara. Tielemans and Buendia why we continue to be linked with central midfielders. As things stand I don’t see that as our most pressing priority I would rather see more links with strikers, wingers and a right back or two.

Whack, any Leeds fans I've spoken to say the opposite - They've all spoken very highly of him! The reality is, if we are to continue to upgrade the midfeld then this is the calibre of player we will be after. He's better than Sanson and Dendonker so our midfield is automatically upgraded, he can cover Kamara, Luiz, McGinn and Right Back and is a proven international (captain of the US team I believe or at least has be on occasion? ) . We aren't going to upgrade our starting midfielders, that's simply unrealistic so it's about strengthening the depth and making sure we don't need to play Chambers defensive mid at the back end of games next season. Personally I think this would be an excellent signing at the right price.

I was surprised when i read we may be interested, like you and Whack, not for me. I hope it was just paper talk, i can't see him being an Emery style player, you never know though!

If a central mid comes in he’s going to hand to be world class to get ahead of what we have in there, I predict a huge season for Ramsey this year. agree on your point about other priorities, if I was going shopping in Leeds it would be Gnonto of Harrison and after that their players are average at best.

I also don't rate adams he's no better than what we have, to get in our midfield its going to have to be a special player, i'd take gnonto he's going to be a good player harrison is decent aswell rest of leeds average at best

Sorry BK but what I’ve seen of Leeds last season they don’t have any 25-30 million players and that’s what the fee for him will be around I reckon, Dendonker came into some big games for us last season and done a solid job for most part, I can’t say the same for any Leeds midfielder, he might be worth a punt at 12-15 million and maybe Emery can work his magic on him but not a hope would I spend over 20 million on him. I agree it’s probably unrealistic that we can sign upgrades on luiz, maginn, kamara or ramsey but we do need to sign players on par or close to if we are to progress, tellimans for instance we know what’s in his locker, I think we are well stocked in that department now either way and hopefully Tim stays with us this year to develop like ramsey has. striker, wingers and RB are the ones I want to hear about now

To get a player that is on par with Luiz, Kamara, McGinn, Ramsey you are talking about £50M players.Or more, Whack! Dendonker cost us £15M and is a player who I rate and would be more than happy to have in the squad next season but let's be honest Adams is a significant improvement on him, he averages more tackles and interceptions per game, more key passes, more dribbles, more shots - He's a massive upgrade and offers versatility in that he can cover our entire midfield, as well as, right back. If we do sign him, he improves our squad massively in my opinion and keeps our entire midfield on their toes which wasn't the case last season. We can happily agree to disagree but if we do sign him, I for one will be delighted.

I just don’t see it BK, he played in a team who spent to entire season in the relegation places, for all his shots he never scored, never assisted, for all his tackles and interceptions his team still had 1 of the worst defences in the league, there’s zero proof that he has adapted to the premier league in my book, and top it all off he missed at least 1/3 of the season with serious injury so there’s zero proof that he’s properly healed, and to say he can play RB is a stretch, any player can play any position but being effective is a different story, the Ed’s can probably confirm that I interact with the Leeds page on a weekly basis throughout the season and 1 of the biggest problems they had all season was constantly playing players out of position it just didn’t work for them. we will have to agree to disagree ??

For the record I'm not advocating for his signature, it's just a signing that makes sense to me and one I'd be very happy to see come to fruition - I take your point on him being part of a struggling Leeds side but it's a side that had 4 managers last season Whack, i'd be reluctant to judge any player on their Leeds performances last season, I watched him quite a bit for Leipzig and I can assure you there is a player there. At 25M it's one that makes sense particularly if we offload Marvelous, Sanson and potentially Dendonker. Happy to agree to disagree and move on though ?
