So,amongst our brethren there are those who are saying give sg time to buy the players, and integrate them into how he wants us to play football, seems reasonable enough right?--nope your wrong,I watched forest against spurs today and spurs looked good,as for forest, well, they have had the busiest transfer window so far,is it 14 players bought in (apologies if less or more),so you'd think they'd be a bit of a mess what with new players, new system, and hardly any time to learn it,but guess what, they looked really well drilled, played pressing, attacking attractive football and you could tell they believed in cooper, even though some had only been there not even a month!-now take a look at us,sg in situ longer than cooper, knows more about his players and has much more settled squad, and yet we look like what we are, disjointed,no leadership on the pitch, and I'd say not to much off it,and the reason for this is really simple,Steve cooper is a real coach, he already has that brand new team drilled and has figured out a system that can accommodate all the new signings, attention to detail,Steven gerrard is not a coach, yes he has the badges, fair play to him,but you can see he's clueless about changing tactics or formation, the owners, supporters and fans deserve a lot more,sg is not the man to do that, and when the likes of gabby says to give him more time, then you know the writing is on the wall,as for who to bring in,the poch is the obvious one, personally I would like to see Sean Dyche given a chance, never ever had any real budget to work with and performed miracles year after year, why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen Dyche mentioned a few times on this site, for me I think we need to be more ambitious - Done Miracles at Burnley but how many times have we seen do that, managers who can organise a side, be really difficult to be beat but offer very little else? Not saying Dyche is in the Big Sam bracket but for me I'd like to see us be more ambitious if Gerrard is to be removed. For the record I'm in the "give him more time" group, to remove a manager now would be reactive, I think he'll get the next four games (Arsenal, City, Southampton, Leicester) and the club will make a decision then. The way we are playing doesn't give me much hope of getting much from those fixtures but he needs time to try and address the problems. In all likelihood the writing is probably on the wall for Gerrard but let's see what the week brings in terms of signings, things can change quickly in this game.

It’s one thing being more ambitious it’s another being able to attract the top class managers and I am not sure any top class manager would touch us at the moment and understandably so, and to the point that Gerrard has been in charge more time than Cooper that’s incorrect Gerrard in situ since November Cooper September.

We need a talisman. We had Grealish to make something happen out of nothing and create space for others when he had 3 on him. At the minute Ramsey gets the ball centrally and runs with it, McGinn picks up the ball and runs with it. Kamara looks our best midfielder and must be thinking what have I come into. Didn't Sanson play with Kamara at Marseille? They'd already have an understanding and could play passes instead of running out of position, losing the ball and getting punished. McGinn was the one that should have come off yesterday not Dougie.

Loti. Don't agree we can't attract a top class manager. It's not like players wanting Champions League. For a top manager it's about the challenge. They will just want to know that the owners are ambitious and they can work with them.

Sorry 56 most top class managers want the challenge presented by pitting skills against the best ie in the Champions League or a side that is likely to make the Champions League, we aren’t in that space yet. If you can name me a manager of the ilk of Poch, Conte, Ancelloti et al who have taken over a Leicester/West Ham type of club I’d be surprised.

Ancelloti took over Everton

As did Benitez and he managed Newcastle in the championship with a knob for an owner…

Let’s see if we get rid of SG who we get
