I hope that with the links to Chiesa and Ferrari Torres that we don't end up missing out on more realistic targets for example Harvey Barnes who if rumours are to be believed is in talks with West Ham. I can't see either Chiesa or Torres joining us, Nico Williams is staying in Spain if we are not careful all the alleged wide players we have supposedly targeted will have either gone or decided to stay put.

It’s all paper talk. What have you seen from Villa about these players?
How do we even know who are targets actually are? We’ve kept our cards close to our chest for the most part ever since the takeover. I can’t see that changing anytime soon.

During January we were strongly linked with Duran and Moreno and signed both. A lot of the links to Chiesa and Torres are through foreign press outlets and whilst a lot of it may be smoke and mirrors all I am concerned about is we place all our eggs in the likes of Chiesa Torres and Williams who are top class targets likely to attract interest from the big boys and miss out on more realistic options like Barnes and Harrison.who have decent track records at premiership level.

Whilst that’s true about the Jan window, it also means forgetting about the 25+ names we were also linked to and didn’t sign…
The only one it actually looks like has “rejected us” is Nico and it seems more a case of wanting to stay in Spain and with his brother, which I can respect.
I’m quite confident we’ve got a list of multiple targets for each position whether we end up missing out on choice 2 whilst chasing choice 1 is always the way it is in any transfer window.
