Martinez has gone. However, I hope when we play Chelsea he gets the respect he deserves for the service he has given the club. In my years supporting Villa, he is without doubt the best keeper the club has ever had.

He said he wanted to win a trophy in his time with us and he has done just that.
We haven't had another keeper who is the full package like him in my lifetime.
Hopefully, Suzuki settles well and the fans don't expect him to live up to the same expectations immediately.

I believe that Martinez was the Goat goalie for Villa. Admittedly, he had a mistake in him now and again, but what goalkeeper that's ever played hasn't?
Loved him for his s****housery and winding up other teams and fans, but he could back it up with his performances.

I hope that when he comes back to VP, everybody gives him the love and respect that he deserves.
Zion Suzuki looks like he has the same physical presence of Martinez, and I'm sure that us Villa fans will give him the time and patience to settle in and make the no.1 spot his own.

1. The club were trying to sell him to save on his wages, as we were getting desperate with UEFA SCR. You really think he was crying because he was trying to force a way out?
Emery has never been his biggest fan due to his loud personality.

It just took longer to get a replacement at the right price for the club.
2. The red card was because of the hospital pass from Cash. He had to make a decision between a red card and a goal; he chose the red card, hoping we'd hold on.

I hope he gets nothing but abuse at vp, tried his best to wrangle a move last year, done exactly the same as Watkins did this year, remember Emery interview BIZOT BIZOT BIZOT. Emery does not go on like that for no reason. you say he was crying all I saw was fake tears, then he makes an absolute idiot out of himself when he got the microphone at the victory parade, we just won a trophy and what's on his mind was denying trying to move to United, 2 weeks later he's back trying to orchestrate another move.


he has given good service but boy has he being paid for it, we trebled his Arsenal wages, got in the Argentinian team only when he got regular games with us and got his international trophies. we owe him nothing he owes us nothing. I'd wish him the best if he hadn't moved to the Premier League but he didn't care where he went as long as he got out of Villa.

We are often linked with Newcastle and our mutual financial restrictions. Like us they have lost a few of their key players and were on the list of teams would struggle this season. I have watched both of their games, they were defensively top class, against Spurs they were excellent and we're so difficult to break down. Compare that with our clueless performance against Brighton. Of course it's only one game and early days, however our weaknesses at the bank was glaring and we don't appear to have addressed this which I think is really poor.

Fortunately Spurs have taken bottom spot off us, however come 10pm Monday night we could easily be back there. Emery will fire the team up as he does, unfortunately if the quality isn't there I worry it will be another game where the spotlight will be on us and this can lead to morale dropping. There is no point thinking everything will be ok, just look at Spurs.

Dave, it's a wait and see, and give them a chance. Obviously, with a more or less new squad, you don't really know what will happen. We just hope it's commitment with skill, and, until we're sorted, a bit of luck. UTV.

I think we will get Harwood Bellis either tomorrow or Monday, as the 45 day thing ends today because we sold Dobbin to Saints for 10 million. That's one centre back; I'd like to see another, but if not, give young Cisse a go.

Just need a centre half now, 2 maybe. Lloyd Kelly & Harwood Bellis for me, though I think Keba Cisse might save us a few quid on the right side of central defence. Opinion is split on Pau & Mings on the left side.
