Football a game of opinions, but some on here change theirs, more than they change their socks. Go back after the Arsenal game, the opinion was, obviously with all the new player, it will take time, but we believe in Emery, after yesterday suddenly it's all change again.
Brighton game, two cockups by Pau, sent us in a tiz, but Emery sorted it second half.
Arsenal game, everyone one here more than happy with the way we played.
Yesterday dire game, but we got a point and had shots at goal, if chances had gone in, you wouldn't have been moaning.
The initial excitement of last week, about the players we had brought and Emery coaching them, certainly didn't last long with some. This is my 68th season, so I've seen all this before, this is all part of being a Villa fan. Ups and down, highs and lows, and if you're honest, the highs we've had with Emery have been very good. So give your heads a wobble and have some of that patience, we were talking about last week. UTV

True, Dave. Still unsure about Jackson though.
06 Sep 2026 21:57:20
I think Jackson could thrive if we can get some quality behind him.

Love Ginny but does anyone else think he looks a little overweight.

Bloody hell it’s started already, anyone expecting a polished performance is deluded.
A point today but should have been more, we have so much talent yet to take the field and some of comments are laughable.
This season is going to be tough with more downs than ups but it’s necessary so we will be in a good shape to challenge the big boys again.
In an ideal world we would have added quality to an already decent squad but due to circumstances mainly out of his control Emery will have to start from scratch. Have patience and then see how good this guy is.

I don't think it's by any means deluded for fans to expect more than 1 shot on target out of all that possession and shots. Shew. Hull parked the bus, like so many bad teams have done against us in recent seasons, and once again the team and manager did the same thing for 93 mins. Garnacho was brought on so he could fall over and lose the ball pretty much every time he got the ball, Tammy was brought on to not have the ball crossed into him.
People didn't expect a miracle, but they do expect highly paid professionals to see what everyone watching the game could see. It's not the end of the world to get a draw, but we have to do better against teams like this because it's costing us every season, not just this season.

Got a point and didn’t loose, not a bad first half, but went down hill, the longer it went on.
Mings and Lindeloff play well together, Hemmings get better every game, not long before he gets his first goal. Kamara didn’t look at his best, Buendia definitely had one to forget, what a difference it would have made, if his and Ginnys goals had gone in. Thought Jackson certainly looking a different player, making good runs and some good touches, keeps improving.
Suzuki looking the part, some good stops, and that one kick was brilliant, the touch by Hemmings was just as good. Barkley had a good one, amazed he’s got fit enough to start lasting 90 mins.
Second half we seemed to just get slower in the build up, lots to work on, got to get this new blood involved. Wonder what team we will put out on Tuesday, with all the quick games coming up, we will have to have a lot of mix and matching. UTV.

Barkley had a good one? You're having a laugh. One of the worst players on the pitch, completely clueless on how to bring the ball forward, faint left, faint right, turn around and play it backwards, repeat, repeat, repeat. I agree with everything else you said, but he is rubbish and has been every game this season.
05 Sep 2026 19:38:14
Team needs time but that was powder puff today.
05 Sep 2026 20:45:25
They are obviously playing the way Emery wants them to, or he would have told them to do something different. This is what frustrates me about Emery.
05 Sep 2026 19:28:27
At least we are not bottom of the league, we deserve to be. The last three games are down to Emery, no excuses.
05 Sep 2026 20:40:04
The last three games are due to a complete rebuild. If we'd scored one of our clearcut chances that would've been a Man City esq performance. Total domination for 80 mins. This new team is going to take plenty of time to gel, and most of our midfield and wide players, who you'd expect to be our regular starting eleven, haven't even started a game yet.
Anyone who understands football expected this kind of start for Villa. Now is not the time to panic.
05 Sep 2026 19:27:41
Jackson is absolutely shocking! We're going to be nowhere near the top 6.
05 Sep 2026 20:43:28
I missed the first half, I didn't think he was that bad for what I saw. At least he fits the way we play. Tammy is a completely different type of striker, but we play the exact same way when he comes on. He's a square peg in a round hole.
Why are we not pumping balls into him in the box when we had 2 out and out wingers on the pitch? Every time they turn inside and play it backwards, or back into the congested middle, that hadn't worked all game.
05 Sep 2026 19:23:19
Nearly five hours of Premier of Premier League football and just one shot on target, it's an absolute disgrace. What's the point of spending millions on players and not playing them. We are an absolute joke. I'm sure the claret tinted brigade will see the positives, I think we look like a clueless outfit.
05 Sep 2026 20:39:43
Hemmings is twice the player Garnacho is, and probably earning peanuts. Emery now has to keep playing him after pushing to bring him in. God, even Sancho was twice the player.
We had enough chances to score 3 or 4, but we should have been bombarding them for the amount of possession we had. Emery is so stubborn, he won't change it. That game was crying out for Mbaye.
05 Sep 2026 23:46:57
Scott, do you understand football?
You still haven't learnt your lesson from last year, I see!
06 Sep 2026 11:58:44
Daz, it's not about learning a lesson, it's about never accepting mediocrity at any stage, no matter the final outcome. Five hours of Premier League football, no goals, one shot on target. Not just one game, all three. That's a 100% failure without any attempt to change things. Surely this can't be acceptable in anybody's book.
05 Sep 2026 19:20:11
John Mcguin, Buendia, Barkley, Mings all s****.
05 Sep 2026 20:40:48
Well, blow me down, Tom's back, with all the usual, Mings, Ginny back in his firing line, pity Pau never played for him. UTV.
05 Sep 2026 19:07:48
Painful watching Mings and Barkley on the ball. They are constantly on the ball but can’t do anything with it, just same every time.
