With our 3 key midfielders now injured for at least the next 6 weeks and clearly we have to think about player fitness I just wonder what Emery's priorities will be over the next 2-3 weeks, if indeed he is going to prioritise any competition.
Thursday night, RB Salzburg, win and I believe we have the advantage of home ties in Round of 16 then home for 2nd leg of Qtrs and Semis (if we get through). Worth resting a few for that?

Next 3 league games: Brentford (H), Bournemouth (A) and then Brighton (H). Could really cement our top 3 credentials 'if' we get a good points haul.

Then FA Cup Newcastle (H).

Which would you prioritise or forsake if you had to or wanted to?

FA Cup would be the one I would put 3rd on list of priorities.

Agreed Trinity. Love the romance of trying to win the FA cup but with the prizes on offer through the league and Europe, I think it's a no brainer to be honest.

Same here, I think we have a European spot pretty much in the bag (unless we completely capitulate) I’m going all out the league if for nothing more than the financial aspect for next year so we might have funds to build the squad up more.


I’d love to win the Europa league but there’s a great opportunity in the league this year, city haven’t be their usual and arsenal are rattled, they will lose some games for sure, it’s a shame we are getting some injuries as it just got tougher but still the opportunity is there

Might be controversial but if we can get a few more players, jpm from palace, Wilson from fulham, Luiz on loan and loftus cheek for small fees, and a another loan or 2, for squad depth to help us over the line for top 4, I think that would be great for the villa.

No chance Mateta will happen if Tammy is coming, the other 3 are all very doable but I could see only 2 happening as we don’t have enough wiggle room with wages. the luiz rumours really are gaining momentum that’s one I really see happening this month and quiet possibility the only one, think Wilson might happen in the summer if I’m honest

Get Dougie playing as he was before, and he would be a great signing. He knows the club, knows Emery and knows what’s expected . Has anyone heard anything about the two young lads, are they being assessed in training? Thought they may have given them a U 21 start . UTV

Probably a lot going to depend on how soon Barkley will be back as to whether we bring in another midfielder. I don’t know where he plays nowadays but I always liked Anguissa he used to play for Fulham I think and maybe Atalanta. or what about bissoma from spurs or is he a trouble maker?

Daz, agree absolutely amazing, no matter what is thrown at Emery he seems to come up with solutions. Injuries are obviously causing us problems and new recruits to cover midfield don't appear to be in the horizon, fingers crossed Emery has something up his sleeve. Missed the game yesterday at a family wedding, spoke to my Grandsons who both said we deserved it.

Fabulous result and some great performances. Thursdays team selection will be interesting, the positives are we played last Thursday and managed to up our game against Newcastle so hopefully this Sunday will be the same.

I'm calling it now Scott we have the best manager in the world right now at our Football Club.Any manager can spend billions and millions on players but for Emery held back by SCR and PSR to do what he has done with basically the same squad from 3 years ago shows just how bloody good he is we are very very lucky to have him and long may he continue.

Super performance today, massive result, a real test of character, passing was poor at times but everything else was spot on, didn't look like Ollie's day but he kept going, I think they said it was his 6th goal in the last 7 premier league games, we give him stick for missing chances but he's still scoring, I hate criticising him he works so hard and seems like a good lad but he's also frustrating, Tammy will fancy his chances of getting in ahead of him if he can hit the ground running.

every player contributed today they worked their socks off it could of easily being 5-0
The subs had a big impact as well, even Bailey worked hard.
I love it that we beat them 🤣🤣
