Get a No9 in (I don't know who) and have a serious crack at trying to win the Prem
Or
Not upset Ollie Watkins by getting another No9 in, even though actuall competition for the No9/main striker spot might spring him into life

Depends how serious the owners are, there’s a great chance this year to push for the league, I honestly think we are 2 players short of a genuine title challenge, a striker has to be top of the list, I love Ollie but we need more goals from our No9.

I have been through the top 5 scorers in the top 5 leagues and checked them against the top 5 teams in those leagues.
Out of 25 teams across the 5 leagues, there are only 5, maybe 6 centre forwards occupying the top 5 spots in the golden boot race (more than 5 spots in some leagues due to joint 5th placing) .
It's no coincidence that statistically the teams relying on the number 9 to score goals are generally further down the table, most of the top teams are taking more goals from the 10s and wide forwards.
Ollie may have not been at his brilliant best with goals or hold up play but we will absolutely lose a lot more than we gain if we focus on someone who just scores goals (Duran/Ings etc.) .
We're in the same position with Martinez, he might make the odd mistake but his command of his area and safe hands on crosses/shots save more points than most people understand.
There needs to be succession plans for those 2 but it's either a lucky find like we had with Martinez or a huge fee, it's very unlikely we get either of those in January.

I think we should definitely keep what we have during the January window if we let Martinez go it will be a mistake in my view if we have to sell then at the end of the season will do.
As an aside I have a number of friends who are Chelsea fans who are convinced that Rogers is on his way to The Bridge in the summer apparently Palmer is one of Rogers mates and he’s had his head turned apparently. The deal involves Jackson and cash. Sounds far fetched to me but I guess it wouldn’t be a total surprise ??♂️

All Chelsea fans believe they will buy every player they want, but like Villa fans the Chelsea fans can only speculate on who they might buy, Roger’s form is that good that he’s going to be linked with every top team in the world, only he knows what he wants to do next season and I’m sure he won’t make any decisions until the season is over, one thing we do know is that if Roger’s does leave over the next few windows we will get a huge fee for him and knowing our owners every penny will be pumped back into the squad. Chelsea however don’t even know who their manager will be next seaso, if pep leaves city then Maresca will surely go to city so they have quite a bit of uncertainty to worry about.
And if we beat them today we will be 10 points ahead of them and they will have Liverpool and United breathing down their necks, whatever happens in our match with arsenal I think the most important thing is to go all out and beat Chelsea, not an easy task but they are unreliable and we have every chance, no Maresca on the sideline either, the stars are aligning my friends.
