Seeing that 1st goal on Saturday it strikes me that Malen is better suited to the way we play than Watkins. Can't see Watkins being so quick footed to get the ball to Buendia to get a shot off and score.
I'm not criticising Watkins just an observation.

74, can you believe we are thinking of getting rid of Malen, reports suggest he is wanted and possibly going to Roma, I don't think this is a wise move at all, what's your view if the report are accurate

Scotty, I have to admit I would be surprised and very disappointed if he was to leave. I can only assume we have bigger fish to fry and moving him on would bring in someone who is a significant improvement, but I feel it's a risk given that he appears settled and is playing well in the system.
To make this kind of change now does seem strange.
We are caught in the PSR trap I'm afraid and until we reach Champions League consistently we will have to juggle the squad with ins and outs. Painful to see but is what it is.

Gutted if Malen leaves, couldn’t blame him if he wanted to go and get more minutes but he’s a great squad option. the bit that baffles me most is the loan with option to buy, I can’t see how that helps us but I do not know the plans behind the scene so we may wait and see what happens.

I’m not sure this is his idea.
Selling him and buying someone in as replacement is a risk.

Personally, I thought Malen was an odd signing at the time considering we got Rashford pretty soon after? But, if all the merry go round is true, Gallagher and Tammy in, we are a better team with them, Gallagher if Kamara is out for a while, Tammy if Ollie gets injured/competition for his place. Tielemans is better further forward imo, and although a different kind of player, plays in pretty much the same area as Malen, add Buendia and Sancho to that too and we are more than covered. Don’t forget Alyson too could play a part ??♂️
