Seems like our financial issues are likely to get worse before they get better. Our £40 million deal with Betano ends at the end of the season and as I understand it, we are no longer able to do deals with betting companies, a number of other clubs find themselves in the same position so sponsors will be able to pick and choose, it therefore seems unlikely to me that we will get as good a package this time round.

I think there a few more dimensions to the sponsorship market than just a few more clubs not being able to use sponsors from a single market. There are several other sectors (tech, finance, tourism, entertainment to name a few) that are in high growth phases and open to the sponsorship market. Fanbase (domestic and global), sporting success, market reach and good commercial management are much more powerful drivers and Villa should be well placed to find good value in the market place on all those fronts.
Factor in our owners connections and I'd be very surprised if we don't get a bigger and better deal.

It’s simple really, get champions league and we will get a good sponsorship deal, plus the champions league money is far superior. even where we are now it’s going to be tough to get top 5 but it is doable, 8 wins would do the trick

Sadly irrespective of where we finish, or what trophies we win, squad ratio costs are going to continue to bite us, unless commercial revenue increases significantly as we are still operating way above the UEFA ceiling.
This is why come the summer stars are going to be sold and replacements whose salary demands won’t be as high will need to be found, which means scouring European/ South American markets as opposed to buying established PL players.

LOTM, just look at Sunderland, there is quality out there at sensible prices and sensible wages and we bought Guessand, not the best recruitment.
