Every player has a price and according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes Chelsea are prepared to offer £130.6 million offer for Rogers. If it's true we have a decision to make it's a hell of a lot of money.

Why would he currently go to a team that are 12 points adrift of us, have no manager and are in turmoil with regard to their ownership/ management relationship? Obviously money is a factor but he strikes me as more intelligent than that. Also, who would you replace him with - and I mean someone of equal or better quality for less money (otherwise there’s no point in selling) who is available and immediately willing to come to VP (i.e.
not on someones fantasy wish-list) . I can’t think of a better midfielder that could replace him frankly.

I get what your saying Menace but money talks, so if Chelsea offer him a salary of say £250k a week, we can’t match that given the SCR issues we currently face. Add to that the fact that allegedly Cole Palmer is his best mate, plus the bright lights of London it may sway him, and as I say if £130.6 million is an opening bid we will obviously look to push that figure to nearer £150 million and as I said in my previous post every player has a price and whether it’s £130 or £150 million that’s a hell of a lot of money to turn down.
Whether we like it or not Rogers will go at some point so the question is do we maximise his value at the end of the season when we could totally remould the squad with that type of money or do we wait for him to push to go when in all likelihood his value will be less? In an ideal world I would keep him all day long but we don’t live in an ideal world unfortunately.

That’s serious cash Lotm, I’d imagine it would be very hard for the board to turn down, it would set us up for a few years I’d say, that said I couldn’t see us getting champions league without him so we would lose out on prize money and end up no better off in 2 years. I couldn’t see him wanting to go to Chelsea right now, like menace says they are in turmoil and not guaranteed any euro spot for next year.
if they want him that bad tell them Palmer and 100 million.
Hard to know who we could get to replace him at a reasonable price, there won’t be much value in the premier league at this time of year.
if we did have money to spend I’d imagine it would be a good time to try attract players considering our position and form and having the master at the helm.

We don’t have a need to sell him (right now) and we have 2 shots at getting Champions League by finishing top 4 or winning the Europa League. He’s going to be a starter for England at the World Cup where we could go far which would add to his value, would make no sense at all to sell him now, personally I think he could do better than Chelsea, maybe even someone like Real would want him, and he’d go with my best wishes
