Hopefully we can improve in the second half.

I’m not enjoying this.
We look very rusty and they look like they could score with every attack.
Fearing the worst.

Let's hope that bucks our ideas up. We can't pass and what is Rogers doing? Come on Villa, buck your ideas up or you could be out tonight. Why are we so slow and our passing non-existent.

Is Barkley injured?
Just wondering why he’s not in the matchday squad?

He's not registered in the European squad.

10 Apr 2026 12:54:32
Thanks for clarifying that. A pity, because he's been playing well recently, but guess when the squad was announced he was injured.

Sell Rogers and Watkins for 180 million. Get Bowen and Summerville of Hammers, plus a decent striker and right back if Hammers get relegated.

I like your confidence. At best, I think we will get £100 million for Rogers, and 20% of that goes to Boro, so £80 million for us. Given his age, we will be lucky to get £30 million.
And that's not going to get half your shopping list, unfortunately.

Given Utd are interested in Onana and we are interested in Ugarte would anyone agree to the move with a cash adjustment in our favour? Particularly given our financial issues and the fact that Onana wouldn’t start in our best XI.

The question is, is Ugarte an upgrade to Onana?

07 Apr 2026 19:45:15
In my opinion, no, but Emery knows Ugarte from his time at PSG, so he must see something in the player. Ideally, I'd like to keep Onana, but we don't live in an ideal world. Given the financial constraints we are operating under, raising capital is going to be a necessity, so I can see the attraction of such a deal.

09 Apr 2026 11:06:30
Ugarte doesn't get in the Utd team. All he does is kick people. I think we should stay away from him. I'd try and sign Darwin Nunez. Not playing at the moment, and has the Duran x factor.

Well done Southampton, at times they outplayed Arsenal. Capt Scarlett must be going frantic, to see a team like Southampton do that to them. The way City played today, he must be worrying if Arsenal really could bottle it yet again. UTV.

I don't like City, but I have come to hate Arsenal as much as I hate United, so I hope they do bottle it. I'm just sorry we're not close enough to put pressure on them. It should be quite an exciting run-in from here to match day 38.

05 Apr 2026 15:59:49
Dave, it's Captain Black. That's who Arteta looks like. We are still allowed to say that, surely? That was the character.

05 Apr 2026 21:36:42
We might dislike various teams, but I totally despise Utd. I never liked them before Fergie took over, but he took my dislike to a totally new level. While he was in charge, no team that ever beat them was given any credit; it was either they played poorly or the officials were poor, and the number of times he made comments before matches to pressure the officials was shocking, but the powers that be were too frightened of him to do anything about it.

Then, to cap it all off, they knighted the b. Maybe my loathing will diminish when he shuffles off this mortal coil, but I somehow doubt it.

Same Lord. Even though I shouldn't let it bother me, I still regularly argue with Man U fans on the BBC pages, as they can't wait to call Chelsea, Man City or anyone else cheats or 'trying to buy the league' without any memory of their own club doing this for 2 decades unchallenged.

Ferguson hated Chelsea being able to compete with them, because they'd been able to buy whomever they wanted at whatever price they wanted before that.

City only made that worse. It's the sense of entitlement, I think, I hate the most.
I remember two fantastic rants, 1 by Benitez as Liverpool manager and the second by Mourinho when he was at Chelsea the first time, and they perfectly summed up United, the power Fergie held, and the blatant control they had over everything, and both of them were branded as crazy for stating facts!

So Chelsea lose £262m in one year and still comply with PSR. WTF.
