Watched the highlights again this morning and feel we really did get away with one last night. Certainly 1st half.
Reckon Cash must have had nightmares last night about Rowe.
I don’t think he’ll have a more difficult game of football for the rest of his career (unless it’s at VP next Thursday… 🫣).
Watkins most effective game since Chelsea away in December.
I’ve been critical of him this season but fair play he was brilliant last night.
Rogers was average. McGinn wasn’t in the game for 1st 30-40 minutes. Stuck out so wide on the right only the assistant ref was wider….
Jonathan Rowe looks an absolute handful. I hope Emery has a plan for him in the home leg.
Deservedly got his goal (🤬 Bailey !!!).
On to Forest away. Will be tough but then every game ‘til the end of the season will be.

Poor old Cashy, his head must be still spinning after being turned inside out and torn apart by Rowe. Hopefully, that was just a great game for him and he drops off a bit for the 2nd leg.
Ollie was great and almost back to his best. The runs he made and the strength he showed were fantastic. Hope he goes on a nice little run now it's coming to the end of the season.

1-3 away win in the first leg of a third successive European quarter final. Just let that sink in.
I know it's easy to get frustrated with short term form, get lost and angry in the pursuit of an unachievable perfection or even down play it from an egotistical (we were European champions in the 80's) perspective, but in the context of a whole generation of fans, this is awesome.
Embrace it. It's much easier to drop levels for a long time than it is to raise them.

I h improved second half, Two goals off Ollie and he had an overall good game, ran the line well. Can’t work Rogers out, the way he’s playing at the moment, you wouldn’t get £100 for him, never mind £100m. Tielemans looking back on it, some of his touches are brilliant, plus he’s only going to get better. Thought young Rowe had a great game, bullied Cash all night, problem Iv heard is his temperament, in trouble for fighting teammates.
Back to Rogers is he carrying a knock, we don’t know about, or is he really looking for a move, his form has been worse than bad. Typical Emery performance, sit tight hold them out, second half if you can Knick a goal great. The Ref gave us plenty of fouls, but couldn’t understand how the same players committing them and not getting booked.
Forest Sunday, hope we’ve now got rid of the rust and now can start a winning run UTV.

Have to say, on his current form, I wouldn't miss Rogers. I think he's had his head turned and has one foot out the door. Doesn't want an injury for the World Cup. I'd put Barkley in for the league games in his place.

Tuchel must have had two telephone calls to Watkins and Rogers. To Watkins, buck your ideas up, prove to me you still have it and you are in the plane and he will be. To Rogers. Doesn't matter how s**T you play and how often you lose the ball without showing any interest, you are in the starting eleven for the first game in the World Cup.
How else can you explain his performances.

Dave can't work out what's up with Rogers at all, certainly not enjoying his football, got a face like a smacked arse. Makes you wonder if he's been got at, and he's playing crap to bring his price down.

Rogers just looks like he's coasting at times and not in a good way.
If someone offers us (Villa) £100m in the summer, I think he'll be gone, and, based on his overall performance this season, it would be good business.
Don't get me wrong, I do not want to sell him but at that money it has to be a consideration.

I was going to lay into Konsa. He needs to keep things simple and not think he is Johann Cryuff. I was at the point of suggesting we replace him at half time with Lindelof, who keeps it simple and doesn’t try to do things he can’t.

As far as future transfer targets are concerned, we could do worse than look at Jonathan Rowe. Apparently we looked at him when he was at Norwich. He’s giving Cash and Konsa a torrid time.
