Moussa Diaby has just signed five year deal as new a Al Ittihad player and it looks like Duran won't be far behind in leaving after telling Villa that he wants to join West Ham.
1.) 24 Jul 2024 19:23:55
Haven’t seen Disby confirmed anywhere yet? Duran looks desperate to leave
2.) 25 Jul 2024 00:44:08
It's confirmed now.?
3.) 25 Jul 2024 00:50:10
Duran will be gone soon too, he appears to have burnt his bridges with Villa and many of our fans, a good player with potential but a bad fit at Villa, I think his days are almost certainly numbered.

Amadou Onana medical completed so expect an official announcement later today, a fantastic signing in my opinion who offers something we have lacked.
Tuesday is the long awaited new kit reveal, so I'm looking forward to this but I know all that quality Adidas gear is going to empty my wallet.
Hopefully by Wednesday there is some concrete news of a replacement for Diaby ?
1.) 22 Jul 2024 01:31:34
I’m still not really sure why we are doing this for like €5m profit. we were already light up front as it was… but in Emery and co I trust
2.) 22 Jul 2024 03:40:58
When the player is happy enough to move on after just one season then maybe there were other issues, I'm pretty sure he wasn't forced out of the door, so maybe he or his family didn't like living in the UK, or maybe he couldn't cope with the premier league, or maybe he just wants the huge money he will make, whatever the reason he has gone now so we all move on, my guess is that there is a very exciting signing coming our way in the not too distant away. ?
3.) 22 Jul 2024 13:24:15
I think an alleged salary of circa £20 million a year might have had something to do with it.?
4.) 22 Jul 2024 15:40:30
We've lost Diaby and Luiz who between them scored 15 goals and 13 assists and replaced them with Onana and Barkley with 7 goals and 6 assists.
Hopefully playing with better players will improve their stats.
5.) 22 Jul 2024 16:29:27
Diaby will be replaced
6.) 22 Jul 2024 19:19:34
Diaby isn’t sold yet let alone replaced, I expect a big name to come in and replace Diaby when he leaves, Barkley will get more goals with us than he did at Luton for sure, I don’t think Onana has being bought to score goals primarily
7.) 23 Jul 2024 05:35:27
I think Rogers will bag plenty this season and we also have JJ on the verge of a return, Ollie will score a hat full as usual and Bailey too will pop in a few, with the likes of McGinn and Barkley also likely to add goals we should have quite a lot of fire power, I also think a big signing is on the horizon and that will be a player who will also be expected add goals so we should be in good shape. Not sure how far Beundia is from fitness but he too has goals in him.
8.) 24 Jul 2024 03:16:53
Let’s be honest Diaby was poor last season, throw the stats at me all you want but I watch football with my eyes and he looked lost most of the time.
I’d say Emery and co have seen we can make a profit and took it and ran. Diabys stats suggest he was a top performer last season and there would be plenty more sniffing round him if that was the case.
Great but of business for me
21 Jul 2024 23:46:13
According to very reliable sources Diaby is now a done deal €60 million Euro, Monchi in my opinion would have already been working on bringing in a big signing to replace him, he may already have close to the line, who that may be is a guessing game, I know who I would like to see arrive but we will have to wait and see but I don't think we will have to wait long to find out. ??

I've just been reading that Lucas Digne is on his way out, apparently Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal are willing to pay 30 million for him.
Not a bad price for a 31 year old and with Moreno back fit it would make sense, Digne is on a massive wage so to offload him for 30 million, bring in Acuna for 8 million, it still leaves us with 22 million in the pot, very good business in my opinion so let's see if it happens.
1.) 05 Jan 2024 10:15:45
Id be surprised if this happens in January he has being brilliant for us this season while Acuna hasn’t being to hot in la liga.
2.) 05 Jan 2024 12:22:42
Villa may see it has an opportunity to get good money for him but I have no idea if the player wants the move or indeed if it will happen.
3.) 05 Jan 2024 14:02:53
Yeh I can see the logic from the financial side of things but from a sporting view I think it would be a mistake, I know he’s on high wages but in the market for this last few years I think we bought him for a really good price, I read somewhere last week he’s the top LB in the league for chances created this season and defensively he’s being very solid, I think it weakens us if he leaves.
4.) 05 Jan 2024 16:47:23
Think I touched on this a few years ago… now we have super rich owners, we shouldn’t only be looking at players that we will make profit on if sold, the 1st priority should be WINNING. Would be brainless to sell Digne in Jan, this season and where we are right now is an opportunity that won’t come along to win the Prem, and I’m being serious in saying that.
Liverpool will miss Salah, Citeh haven’t clicked yet, Arsenal are bottlers, Digne is having his best season so far with us, we just need to add some quality and we are serious contenders. On the banter page I’ve made the case for Dybala and Couffal that would help us push on, that would cost roughly £15M, that’s peanuts to get to where we could be, we might even cover that in sales in Jan with the bit part players. Then if we get Champions League, go for the Frimpongs, Davids, Toneys etc ??♂️

Well I don't claim to be in the know myself but I have just heard that Unai Emery has set aside a significant amount of cash to seal the signing of Jonathan David.
This would be an incredible signing and one that would surely please all our fans, if this happens then Villa are getting to Europe and I'm going to party hard, I just hope it materializes, but the good thing is that we haven't got long to wait to find out for certain, this is massive news if true. 1.) 31 Jan 2023 02:46:18
Personally I think we will make two significant signings but I have no idea who that might be, I don't think the media have a clue either. Hopefully it's a good day for us Villans and we get some real quality through the door, but if not I guess we will all have to wait until summer. UTV
2.) 31 Jan 2023 12:39:28
Hi One AV. We have been linked before, so I specifically watched him in the World Cup. In reality he is not an upgrade. I'm afraid he is another one pundits have labelled at our level and then lazily 'linked'. There are quite a few, Weston McKennie, Danjuma etc, etc. We really should be looking a bit higher, and I expect that we are.
3.) 01 Feb 2023 03:18:23
Hi Villa56, turned out that none of the links were fruitful, I'm a little disappointed as I did expect a couple of incomings but I'm happy we resisted the temptation to panic buy. I still think the squad is ample to take us comfortably through to the summer with progress where I expect that window to be a little busier for us. I'm interested to see how the Duran signing pans out, I don't know an awful lot of him if I'm honest, but he reminds me of Benteke, I have a good feeling about him and I think in time he could become that goal scorer we have lacked. Hopefully the rest of the season goes well and with a bit of luck Europe, but the likes of Chelsea and a few others have spent big so those top places will become congested, but you never know. UTV

With Diaby now sold and Villa's interest in Joao Felix is reignited I just have a feeling that this is now going to happen in the next few days, it would be a fantastic signing for Villa and I feel that Unai Emery and this Villa squad would see the best out of him.
23 Jul 2024 05:25:31
Joao Félix seems the most popular replacement name being thrown in for Diaby when and if he leaves, but with Duran also likely to go very shortly surely Félix is a player who could also share the work load with Ollie and provide cover/rotation for him too. this would make him a very useful addition to the squad if we could get him but his wage demands may be an issue.
1.) 25 Jul 2024 08:01:02
If Duran goes then we could really do with looking for another striker in his mould.
Archer is never going to cut it as our main centre forward in the system we play.
Rodgers could fill in that area as he is the closest to Ollie we have but then we're relying on them not picking up knocks, fatigue or suspensions at the same time.

Old rubbish if you ask me, Unai wants to keep Ramsey and Ramsey is happy to stay so for me this isn't happening.

The life span of a blues manager rarely stretches to a season these days.
