I simply can't believe Tielemans is on his way out, he will be missed. Appears it's his choice and has a release clause, obviously doubling his money. £30+ million transfer fee. How on earth did Villa agree such a low fee? Obviously his agent did a clever job when he signed for us.
We aren't going to be able to get anything of his quality for that figure. Really disappointing.

Dave, I was just going to do the same post. You can understand wanting the %100 profit, but can't believe the low price. Another reason, I suppose, is cutting the wage bill. Digna is a top earner. Will hate seeing Tielemans in a Man U shirt. Will hate it even more, seeing Rogers in an Arsenal one. Certainly don't agree with helping top 6 sides. UTV.

He is definitely going to be missed. His range of passing and his ability to pick a pass is second to none, and he will definitely be incredibly difficult to replace. That said, however, I understand we tried to renegotiate his contract last close season, but despite improving terms, he didn't respond to the offer. If you cast your minds back to his Leicester days, they tried desperately to keep him, but he let his contract run down so that he could leave on a free.
If we felt we were running a similar risk, then it would be better to let him go now, even if the fee is slightly less than his market worth. The one positive aspect to all this is that, if Tielemans and Digne go, and you add Dobbin and Barrenchea, we will save in excess of £325,000 on the weekly wage bill. That should put to bed any SCR issues in the short term, at least.

We got Youri for nothing. Had we paid a fee to Leicester, say 30 million, I'm sure the clause in his contract would have been a lot higher.

Before he came to Villa, he wasn't at his best. Unai got him back to his best. Not sure he will do as well at ManU.
