Five years after Dean Smith and we still have the majority of his players in the squad, that smacks of incompetence and that's not down to finance; it's down to a really poor transfer policy. Think of the failures; they number many. Yes, me and many like me are angry and bitter, and it's because we are not seeing a single thing to address it: poor tactics, poor team selection and poor transfer dealings, and what happens? The last seven games, that's what, and it's not going to change unless there is change, and soon.

Why not put Mings in there? I just saw the highlight, played them on for the last goal. Guy is clueless, worst defender I have ever seen in a Villa shirt. Emery is that bad? We are 4th. Watch. When he goes, we will be a mid-table side.

What about the other 3 goals, Tom? The game was over before the 4th, Konsa was worse than Mings tonight, they ran down our flanks for sport, and Emery left Bailey and Buendia on for how long without doing a thing to stem the attacks.
We won't win anything with Emery in charge. He's too proud and stubborn to admit when he's wrong. It could have been 4-1 at half time. If he couldn't see that, then he's not all he's cracked up to be.

I think a few things can be true at the same time. Yes, some of our recruitment has been poor... Yes, our playing style can be frustrating at times, and yes, Emery doesn't get every call right. All of that could be said by any fan of any team in the league.
But all of these knee-jerk reactions, essentially tantrums from some fans when faced with the slightest bit of adversity, are honestly pathetic.
The comment about many of the players being here from Dean Smith's time may well be true, but the context is that under Emery we're competing at the top end of the table and in Europe rather than fighting to stay in the league.
Nobody is saying that we should all be delighted with a run of poor form, and I'm all for discussing where it's going wrong. It's the whole point of fan forums like this, but I'm genuinely embarrassed by some of the suggestions on here.
