Wish I could put it on hear, a Bournemouth fan, first time at Villa park saying how blown away he was with everything there . The atmosphere, noise and most of all the support . He said he'd always wondered why they never won here, now he knows it HaHa .
He also said don't ever change it into something lifeless like Tottenham or one of the other new grounds . Now that's a compliment, seen list before by away fans saying how Villa is their favourite to go . UTV

Dave that's why we love it and care.

I love Villa Park too, but we can’t expand the ground to take 55-60,000 people and revenue streams are vital if we are going to compete with the. ‘big six’ we need to significantly increase our revenue streams and I can’t see how we can do that without increasing ground capacity.

I was able to have a conversation a few years ago with one of the architects involved in previous projects looking at Villa Park expansion. There were viable options discussed for expanding to well over 55,000 plus including expanded provision for another 5,000 of 'premium seating' without the need for relocation. This would appear to be the direction the club are moving in with the expansion of the north stand, but there is considerable space to work with even with the infrastructure layout surrounding VP, if some of the more dynamic design options are considered viable. Unfortunately, those more 'creative' solutions come at considerable cost, so I can understand why the current board are opting for a more incremental and modular approach, keeping expansion projects broadly in line with our sporting success.
We often don't quite fill our stadium now even with current success, so expanding to or building a new 65,000 seats would just be silly.
I remember a conversation on here last year where the '20,000' season ticket waiting list was mentioned. I said then that the waiting list should be taken with a large pinch of salt and I stand by that, and so it would seem are the club right now, which is perfectly sensible.

If we can expand VP to 55-60,000 that’s would be great I think you would be more likely to fill it with inducements to get folk into the ground through a more sensible pricing approach. I have friends who have 2 -3 grandchildren they would love to take to the match but they just can’t afford to and plenty fall into the same category football is no longer a cheap day out for the family. If you offered concessions and we continue to play as we have been I think you could get upwards of 50000 for matches particularly against the big clubs.
The revenue stream issue is pivotal to us being able to compete consistently, i believe irrespective of where we finish we will have to sell one of our first XI come the close season due to ongoing SCR costs issues, we can’t expect to do that year in year out and compete against the sides that can buy and not have to sell.

Am I right in thinking the cost of the expansion won’t affect us as the stadium is owned by a shell company?

We are constantly told about all the people on the waiting list, so why not sell the corporate seats to them, noticed they where mainly empty again on Sunday UTV

As mentioned above, you should take those waiting list numbers with a large pinch of salt. Unfortunately it's not just as simple as selling premium seats to a waiting list on demand.you'd soon have people complaining that non-regular fans were getting preferential treatment etc. The balance between regular, premium and Corporate tickets is a difficult one to predict.this forum is a perfect example of fan behaviour swings from wanting the manager gone and not showing up to games to everything being rosey and high demand.
Impossible to predict accurately on a season to season basis without introducing dynamic surge pricing for tickets, which I doubt will happen in the short term.

We regularly sell out available tickets. Empty seats are a mixture of the following which means we absolutely would sell more if available:
1. Seats left empty between home and away fans to assist crowd control.
2. Seats being repaired/upgraded or in the areas being slowly expanded.
3. Season ticket holders not attending and not submitting their seat for resale.
Maybe a few of the more expensive packages aren't at 100% capacity for lesser games but a lot of seats in those areas can also be purchased at normal prices without the extras.
