One of the things where I do think the club needs to do better is when it comes to selling players. Where I think we got a decent price for Rogers, all our other sales seem a bit undercooked to me. You look at Chelsea and whenever they sell a player it’s always at the upper end of that club's valuation. At the moment they have apparently agreed a deal with Forest for Liam Delap at £50 million, yet Watkins will probably go for similar money, maybe slightly less.
Now I know Delap is significantly younger, but you are buying potential whereas with Watkins you are signing a proven goal scorer and yet he won’t attract a fee greater than Delap's? It doesn’t seem right to me. I accept every player has his price. I’m just concerned we seem to set the bar lower than it should be.

I don't get how they paid roughly £30M each for Delap & Jackson. They don't want them, but they'll make around £50M profit on them, players that they don't want. ??♂️

Never fancied Delap, just a battering ram, who's always seemed as if he likes hurting people. Much rather have Big Brian, we're so lucky to have him, hopefully, as the season goes on, we will realise just how much.
Looks like Ollie on a good deal, £15 m a year, they reckon. Now, nice money, but it certainly won't do his England chances any good.
Please hurry and get these other signings in, and we can all stop fretting. UTV.

Although it's a valid observation, as Man City always seem to do it when they sell players also, I think in the Delap example didn't Chelsea exploit his 30m release clause? I don't think Ipswich valued him at 30, but that was the price that was activated, like with us and Youri.
So I guess, in theory, Chelsea could argue they always valued him at 50m and got a bargain.
Never seen him doing anything that was all that impressive though, even at Ipswich I just thought he was average. However, I feel the same way about Jackson.
