I'm not defending yesterday's performance.

It was pure ugly, but what I will say in Emery's defence, we have a huge game on Thursday and I seem to recall a few on here slating Emery for playing a strong side against Spurs in the FA Cup where Kamara got injured and is now out for the season, yet as soon as he plays a weaker side in readiness for Thursday you're throwing your toys out the pram (Again)
We need a huge atmosphere on Thursday — monumental, in fact — but, dare I say it, we won't as per!

Daz, he should have gone all out B team if that was his plan. Instead Youri, Cash, Rogers all had to play the full 90, 3 of our most important players. It was never his plan, we have seen it all season, defend, frustrate and try nick a goal to win it, but it all went out the window after 25 mins and he was too stubborn to admit he messed up. I have great respect for you, Daz, you always try to be positive, you always support the team, but what happened yesterday was nothing short of a disgrace, worse than anything from our relegation season. There is no hiding what everyone witnessed, a team that completely rolled over, no effort, no desire to win.

I'm ashamed of it to be honest, it was a sad day for Villa. I have a 10 year old son watching every game with me in a time when all his friends support the likes of Liverpool, City, United and he gets quite a bit of stick over Villa not winning anything, but he still loves Villa. He told me last night those players reminded him of some of the boys on his own team who have no interest in playing, only their parents make them play. The big difference here being these guys are paid thousands every week to play. Shameful is what it is.

I agree, Whack, it was worse than terrible. I'm not disputing that at all. But I believe giving Rodgers, Tielemans and Cash the full 90 mins is a way of trying to get them back in form, but that's just me being optimistic.

Forever the optimist, Daz, never change, mate. ??
