I've said on here before I watch quite a bit of Bundesliga football so at the weekend Koln played Hoffenheim, Hoffenheim scored a goal where after a throw in on the left side the guy who took the throw took it on the run and the rules say that when you take a throw a player must be stood still. The decision was that as the referee/ linesman had allowed play to continue then VAR could not get involved and the goal was allowed to stand.

So my question is in the Brentford game the ball went out despite Bailey's best efforts to keep it in, play was allowed to continue a goal was scored yet on this occasion VAR could get involved? The inconsistency beggars belief and I hope a decision like that doesn't cost us CL football as the United decision last season did.

I agree with the general sentiment and frustration, mate, but the only thing that might cost us Champions League qualification will be an inability to pick up as many points as Chelsea.Looking at fixtures and form, you'd have to say United and Liverpool are likely to finish above us, with us and Chelsea battling out for what should end up being the 5th Champions League spot.

Can't wait for our midfield to be back to nearly full strength. The post international break set of fixtures will be massive. Just got to hang in there until then.

Agree, DBS. It's still in our hands. However, our current form just isn't good enough, and with a few more performances like the last five games, we will definitely be caught by Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U. Hopefully, missing out on the Champions League last season was the wake-up call needed; otherwise it's Europa or Conference for us, with all the fallout that will bring.
