Maggie into 1/7 now to join us. Pictures doing the rounds of him and his agent at the Belfry on Friday. Just putting it out there again

I would take him but not for the money it would cost in transfers and wages.

2.) 08 Jan 2023 15:50:07
A loan wouldn't be a bad option AVF?

3.) 09 Jan 2023 20:51:39
There’s often a whole bunch of meatheads at the Belfry on a Friday. Mostly corporate-types so, frankly, I wouldn’t read too much into it ?

I've just been reading we are favourites to sign Harry Maguire from utd. Wonder if any truth in this or just lazy journalism from the Mail? I'd definitely take him on loan with an option to buy. He clearly doesn't fit in with UTDs plans. Thoughts?

no not for he's so slow

2.) 04 Jan 2023 16:04:44
There is no chance. His best days are over and he's on a downward slope to obscurity. We will be bringing in Pau Torres in the summer, if not this window, and with Carlos back there won't be room. I suggest these rumours are coming from Harry's agent, because he knows the writing is on the wall and he needs to drum up some interest.

3.) 04 Jan 2023 16:08:37
Pity England wasn't a full time gig, Maguire would be in permanently. Man U defence with Maguire at the heart have been poor for a while, why would want a slow centre back.

4.) 04 Jan 2023 17:18:59
Just saying with the right manager to coach him and build his confidence he could be a different player. He always plays well for England. People keep going on about Carlos coming back, but who's to say after a big injury like he's had he hasn't lost a yard or two of pace? People think he'll come back the same player. I really hope he does but u never know.

5.) 04 Jan 2023 19:43:45
Playing for England suits slab head cause Southgate plays 10 defenders, he’s not suited in an attacking team like united

Maybe the whole team should of fell to the floor crying after today's performance. To naked everyone feel sorry for them. I've even read a comment saying Bailey played well? An absolute embarrassing moment in my life today.

Emery has a good 5 years to rebuild thus shambles of a squad. I can't afford to keep watching this dross

I didn't say Bailey played well but he did have a couple of moments. He would have had an assist if Ings hadn't of messed about with his cut back.
Don't join the brigade of posters who go on a tirade only when we lose.
This clearly isn't our first team when half of them never make it onto the pitch.
Let's not forget we had 10 points from 15 in our last 5 matches. 2 windows should be enough to make us a comfortable top half team pushing for Europa Conferance and another year to try push on.
It's now 30 years since we last genuinely fought for the title (I don't think the Gregory team was good enough even if we had got Juninho) so we need to manage expectations.
Pushing for top half and towards Europe is more important at this moment in time and then we'll have a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts. We don't want to become Blues who tried so hard to win a cup that they then collapsed in the league.

Anyone hearing Danny Ings to Bournemouth? If so I wonder if this frees up a space for us to bring another striker in?

Hi Guys. Been following this site for a while now and thought I'd introduce myself and join in the chat and banter.

I've read a post today from Lord of the ings, saying let's not get carried away with yesterday's performance? I think yesterday's performance was one of the best ove seen from Villa in years. How we kept our shape out of possession impressed me the most and how organised we look. Its the first time in 25 years a Villa manager has won his first 2 away games.
I remember reading past posts that you wanted us to give SG more time as manager so your comments are baffling.
Yes we need another striker as Ollie isn't an out an out forward but u overlook what he offers in his all round game. I'd love us to try and get Toney from Brentford to fill that spot.
Also I'd like to know if we stuck with SG as you kept saying we should, where you think we'd be in league table today?

Welcome 78,I agree with some of what you say, however two away wins, isn't enough to judge anything, i'm sure everyone will agree with your comments on yesterday's performance, however we had a couple of "golden performances" under Smith and Gerrard.Hindsight is easy and of course nearly all fans would take Emery over Gerrard, remember we said the same at the start with Gerrard over Smith. So great start to Emery's reign and to 2023 getting off to a great start. Things definitely look positive for the future however let's not Forget Emery's last time in the premier league. Just to balance my last comment, Arsenal fans wanted Artetta out in his first season, so we can't judge Emery on his Arsenal tenure, i just make Lotis point, let's not get too carried away.

Nice to have you on board 78, here’s looking forward to some interesting debates over the seasons

3.) 02 Jan 2023 14:32:08
Thanks for the welcome scotcaffu and it's not my intention to come on here and upset people who have been posting for years. So I hope I haven't caused offence. I've missed one away game in 5 years and the difference yesterday's performance was unbelievable. Just to have an identity on how our manager wants us to play is a breath of fresh air.

As for Arsenal, I think that club was a real mess and was a massive step to fill AW shoes. Emery made some great signings there but some real bad ones. I think he's learnt from his time at Arsenal and that will make him a better manager this time round. With a few quality additions I really think a top 8 finish is possible this season. UTV

78, I don't think many on here get offended mate so no need for apologies. Like you i have been to many many away games and agree yesterday was a different level and we have to think the future looks bright. I agree regarding Arsenal, i just made the point to balance the discussion.

Why would UE go for Tielemens when he will just pay for Guendouzi in the summer? If Guendouzi is his number one target then why would he go for Tielemens? I often wonder what goes through your mind LOTI?

I've come to the conclusion that loti talks out his backside. First off, u wanted and supported SG as manager.
2nd u didn't want fans to get carried away with the away win at spurs. Even tho it's the 2nd manager to win his first 2 away games on the trot since JG.
3rd u think we should give LB more time to prove himself.
4th u think MS had a fantastic fame against a league 2 side. Obviously 3 managers don't think he's good enough but u? I'm still trying to work out your thoughts?

Absolutely spot on caffu. Cash and young should of never of started on the same side together. Every time Digne got the ball it was a backwards pass. So many of them are so inconsistent it drives me mad. Buendia, Digne, Luiz, Watkins, and don't get me started with Bailey, complete waste of time. I think Emery will add a couple this month then in the summer I think you will see him bring in the real quality he needs.

On the plus side I think that's the sort of game we would of gone onto lose under SG so fair play to Emery for changing it at half time. We just need that bit of consistency now

Thanks Dave82. Without trying to get carried away like loti says bit I've not been this excited in a while. We have a world class manager at last to soon go with a world class stadium. I can't wait till UE beds his own team ideas. Exciting times ahead and I'm looking forward to the ride. Hold tight boys, and enjoy the good times ahead. UTV
