My nephew txt me yesterday, reckons he's heard somewhere that Emery to L'pool in the summer is a done deal, and wants to take Dougie and Bailey with him too? Can't see any legs in it myself?

Can’t see this happening Allstar, Emery already has experience of taking a job where his predecessor had legendary status at Arsenal, that turned out badly for him and he had to go away and rebuild his reputation so I can’t see him falling into that trap again. I think we are more at risk losing him to a club like Bayern who are having a bit of a rough time and are looking to replace Tuchel.

2.) 17 Apr 2024 22:59:01
Ruben Almerion will get the Job

If we're after Ngonge, that's another left footed attacking player, unless he's 1 for the future or too good a bargain to turn dow, what's the point of signing him, we need a No9. Also, I'd keep an eye on the Couffal situation at West Ham, if Emery is big on his full backs being more defensive minded, there's not many better than him in the Prem, a cheeky £5M bid for someone who's stalling on signing a new contract might get it done ??‍♂️

1.) 04 Jan 2024 02:09:51
Ngonge plays as an attacking midfielder or a striker, making him a lot more versatile to Emery's needs, good for rotation and cover for injury and suspension in various roles. An exciting and useful player at a very decent price.

2.) 05 Jan 2024 00:16:14
Not sure how this one is going, it seems to be common knowledge that the club have accepted our offer, but their is conflicting reports on whether the player wants the move or not, with some saying he wants Villa and some suggesting he wants a move to Fiorentina, looks like we will have to wait and see where this one goes.

Remember a few weeks ago I said there could be a surprise exit or 2. rumours going round that L'pool are after Kamara, they're going to have £52M burning a hole in their pocket soon, I'd take that, he's replaceable at that kind of money, Kooperminer (spell check lol) the younger Thuram brother, and I'm sure there's a Spanish defensive mid Unai would have his eye on ??‍♂️

1.) 20 Jul 2023 06:20:20
I wouldn’t sell him full stop, we are looking to build a squad to try to win things, why would you sell one of the most accomplished defensive midfielders in the premiership to a rival? Anyway even if I were to consider a sale if Palace are looking for £70 million for Cheik Doucoure then I would certainly want more than that, Kamara is a much better player in my opinion.

2.) 20 Jul 2023 06:50:25
I agree on the price aspect and I wouldn’t want to sell him but as it’s a rumours site where you post about rumours ??‍♂️ Try it another way, get a big fee for him, replace him with Koopa bloke, might get a defensive mid that isn’t injured half the season and his stats show that you might get 10+ goals out of him, Kamara had 1 assist last year, just saying ??‍♂️

UTV

3.) 20 Jul 2023 07:03:54
I get the rumours bit Allstar that’s fine, I like Koopmeiners as well but I would rather we keep Kamara and buy Koopmeiners to add to the squad rather than sacrifice one to get the other. It has taken us an inordinate amount of time to start attracting quality players I want to keep as many as we can for as long as we can and keep adding to them.

4.) 20 Jul 2023 08:28:47
And bouba job is to break play up win tackles not score goals, if we sold him its complete maddness no villa fan would want too sell him he's one of our stars and he's only 22 all players get injured A72 can't be helped, and like lord said we are trying to build a squad to win cups and challenge top6 if anything koopermans would be a good signing to add to the squad

5.) 20 Jul 2023 09:21:37
I agree with both of you, just saying ??‍♂️

UTV

6.) 20 Jul 2023 09:33:05
I see both sides of this one, keep him and our squad is building nicely or sell for 70 million and make huge profit on a player we got for free, he has had his injury problems since arriving and after all we did manage pretty well without him, it’s win win whatever happens imo, if he is to be sold though we need to squeeze every penny we can get out of them

A name to keep an eye on that could replace Luiz should he get sold, Aleksandar Pavlovic of Bayern, 19 years old, already been called up to the full German squad but didn't play due to illness, is of Serbian descent, he looks the part

I like the lad from redbullsalburg gloivain isreal lad he's a baller

20 Feb 2024 18:42:51
The 'Watkins dilemma'. Ollie is a good guy, a good player, if we aspire to win things we can't rely on 1 striker, we can't not have another quality striker because we don't want to upset Ollie, shouldn't strikers be pushing each other for that 1 spot? That's how you become successful.

We obviously need a back up striker, but do we want 1 who's happy to get '15 mins' every other game? I personally think we'd be better with 2 up top, or a 9 and a false 9, or a 9 and a No10. Without repeating myself lol, Jonathan David is the guy for me, 1 year left on his contract come the summer so there's a deal to be done there, there'll be competition for him but that only shows that he'd be an asset to whoever he goes to.

Next season (or part of this) we'll have Mings, Buendia back, we'll have a better squad to pick from, only thing missing is that quality 2nd striker, the potential is there with Duran but we should be in the market for starters, we're back in the place a club our size should be, we have an exceptional manager, fantastic owners, it's exciting times ahead

I agree Allstar, I think we are 3 players away from being a side that will be able to compete with the so called big six. A striker as you say to challenge Ollie, we can argue over the who (my preference is and always has been Patrick Schick) but someone who can push Ollie is a must. A right back again to challenge Matty Cash who isn’t as bad as some on here would have you believe but is inconsistent. The lad from Leverkusen Frimpong looks a really good player quick, a good crosser of the ball and scores goals as well. Finally a back up keeper as Olsen isn’t good enough, I’ve read somewhere that Kelleher at Liverpool may be available come the end of the season if that is true we should be all over that. The problem I think we will face is that to comply with FFP will mean that to buy 3 quality players will mean we need to sell one of our star players to generate the necessary funds as our income streams aren’t sufficient to sustain us spending £100 million plus on new recruits so we will need to balance how we improve the squad without weakening the first XI which will be tricky I think.

2.) 21 Feb 2024 22:58:43
Sadly I think Dougie will be sold. Bought for 15m sell him for 80m and hope we can find some cheaper gems.

3.) 22 Feb 2024 09:44:07
I agree Bucky but not on the figure, Doug is worth every bit as much as rice, I know he’s not English but prices keep inflating so 12 months after rice move for 105 I think we should have no problem getting 100 for him we just have to play hardball, I really hope if he does go that it’s to Madrid or Barcelona or even psg…
Then we have to talk about a replacement, we probably don’t want to spend more than 30ish so who would you guys buy?

4.) 22 Feb 2024 09:50:40
I always fancied Frank Anguissa, was it Fulham or Brighton he had a season on loan with, he had a stellar season for the year he was was there.

5.) 22 Feb 2024 15:37:56
I think it will be Luiz who is sacrificed and I agree the fee should be at least what West Ham got for Declan Rice, but I would rather he go to Arsenal I’d ask for Tierney, and ESR in part exchange plus a cash adjustment and I’d use that to go for Neves. I’d then look to sell Digne and probably Ramsey try to sign the right back, forward and goalkeeper we need.

6.) 22 Feb 2024 17:11:32
We just signed a goalie LOTM from Down under

7.) 22 Feb 2024 17:49:30
The only arsenal players I’d take in exchange that they realistically part ways with are Jorginho and trossard, they can keep their injury prone bench warmers.
Mitoma is another player we should be looking at if a reasonable deal could be made with Brighton.

8.) 22 Feb 2024 22:22:34
Wouldn’t take Jorginho or Trossard, Jorginho too old and slow, and when we have Diaby and Bailey why Trossard? But as usual it’s all about opinions, and I am sure Emery will have his own targets probably from La Liga.

9.) 23 Feb 2024 11:24:31
True mate, I was thinking trossard plays on the left unlike Bailey or Diaby and Jorginho controls the ball well in midfield and like emery’s style he can slow play right down pretty well. neither would be my first choices of players to buy, I was just thinking of arsenal players. your right though I’d imagine Emery would raid la liga.

10.) 23 Feb 2024 19:43:54
With Kamara being out for a long while then if Dougie was to go it’d have to be top dollar money for him. Wed then need 2 midfielders. The names I’d throw in are Pauhlihna and Koopermeiners. There’s probably players Emery has his eye on and probably a lot cheaper than them 2. Maybe we’ll get lucky and some Saudi team will come in for Dougie for more than we could dream of getting and then the sky’s the limit ??‍♂️

UTV

11.) 24 Feb 2024 10:12:15
Koopmeiners is a really good shout right age and although a defensive midfielder he has an eye for a goal, 7 goals and 3 assists in 21 games in Seria A is non too shabby. Although i think we would probably be looking at a fee north of £50 million to buy him.

09 Jan 2024 19:19:57
Here's 1 from left field. a few years ago I was going on about going for Eric Dier, mainly as a defensive mid or cover at centre half, Spurs want rid, offer them £1M, let Lenglet go and his (reported) £150K wages, I'd be happy with that, he's a solid player, experienced, not cup tied for Europe or FA Cup, I know Spurs wouldn't let him go for £1M but would be nice to get 1 over them for trying to mug us off for Grealish ??‍♂️

Id have him as a squadie, but he's going to go to bayern

2.) 09 Jan 2024 20:21:55
It may be unkind but I think we need intelligent players to move us forward and I’m not sure Dier is one. As VJ says, as a squad player maybe ?

06 Jan 2024 11:53:55
Been doing the checking out rumoured players we're after on YouTube, that Albert Gudmundsson of Genoa looks a good, don't know how much he'd cost but Transfermarket have him at €15M, Icelandic international, versatile forward who can play any of the front 2/3 roles, word is we've scouted him several times

Just read that Dybala at Roma is available for just over £10M, he's 30 but that would be a statement signing, i was pushing for us to sign him in the summer, people would take us seriously as title challengers with him in the squad ??‍♂️

Worth a punt bargain for 10mil A72

2.) 06 Jan 2024 17:37:57
By and large the strikers we are being linked with i.e Gudmundsson Ngoge, Werner, and IIhenacho either are up and coming players or who aren’t necessarily first choice starters with there clubs and are more likely to accept being second choice behind Watkins I can’t see someone like Dybala accepting that type of role at the moment.

Think I touched on this a few years ago… now we have super rich owners, we shouldn’t only be looking at players that we will make profit on if sold, the 1st priority should be WINNING. Would be brainless to sell Digne in Jan, this season and where we are right now is an opportunity that won’t come along to win the Prem, and I’m being serious in saying that.

Liverpool will miss Salah, Citeh haven’t clicked yet, Arsenal are bottlers, Digne is having his best season so far with us, we just need to add some quality and we are serious contenders. On the banter page I’ve made the case for Dybala and Couffal that would help us push on, that would cost roughly £15M, that’s peanuts to get to where we could be, we might even cover that in sales in Jan with the bit part players. Then if we get Champions League, go for the Frimpongs, Davids, Toneys etc ??‍♂️

To Jonny, I’m not trying to be argumentative for argumentatives sake lol, but as for wingers or who we class as being on the left or right of Watkins, we have Bailey, Diaby, Ramsey, Rogers, Buendia when fit, McGinn and Tielemans if Luiz and Kamara start. That’s more wingers than Southgate has right backs ? we need an actual striker as back up to Watkins, Duran might come good but if David is available at half the price he was a year ago now he’s coming into the last year of his contract, would be a shrewd move, still got to think of that FFP stuff ??‍♂️

In all honesty, with the players we have to come back from injury (Mings, Buendia, Kamara) we only really need a back up striker (David for me) 2 fullbacks that would be starters, and maybe a defensive mid, assuming we hold onto the players that everyone else seems to want to buy off us ??‍♂️
