Diaby rumours gathering speed. what's people's thoughts on him?

Sounds like him and Kessie are genuine targets - If we can get them, a striker and a RB we'd be in a great position! Watched Diaby a few times, he's lightening quick but a typical winger, can be frustrating at times but that goes for every winger outside of the elite IMO. Would be a very good addition, only concern is his size but I think those days are sort of gone!

I watched quite a bit of Diaby in the Bundesliga and he is either on fire virtually unplayable but on other occasions he is anonymous, so I agree with BK that he can be frustrating. Is he better than Bailey? Time will tell, if you look at the numbers both produced in the Bundesliga not much difference. If we do sign Diaby the key will be his ability to adapt to the Premiership.

The fact that Diaby's club are happy to let him go, the fact his stats are similar to Bailey in the Bundesliga, the fact he can be anonymous like Bailey, for me there are two many similarities, I would leave well alone.

He can shoot and cross well with both feet. Most wingers are one footed, and from the clips I''ve seen I can't tell what foot he favours. He's looks quite a bit better than Bailey to me.

I’m not going to pretend I know much about him, I do see the point some are making about his likeness to Bailey, I do like the fact he has played for France, I think maybe he’s the calibre that we can attract if that position this year, maybe next year when we are in the champions league we can get in a world class winger, even if we buy him I can still see another (cheaper) winger coming in, maybe more of a wildcard like gnonto, we need options out wide but I do think 50 million might be steep for an option.

The big difference I see between Bailey and Diaby is that Newcastle, Arsenal, Man Utd etc etc weren’t interested in Bailey but apparently they are for Diaby.
That tells me he is a better player with higher potential

Not that I buy into paper talk too much, but the fact that his club are 'happy' to let him go doesn't mean much in my book. By that logic any player we sign would be poor. Arsenal were 'happy' to sell us Martinez and Villareal to sell us Torres. And I'm pretty other big clubs were interested in Kamara but we landed him. Credit to our club where it's due and I fully believe we'll attract a few more decent players, whether it's Diaby or not who knows.
