Not happy with players who we have been linked with and the player we have signed, Clyne would of been much better and is a free, I feel Dean Smith hasn't got a clue and is just going to sign all Brentford players, there's proven prem, players who are available, Clyne, fraser, will Hughes, barkley, romeo, Aaron's, Lewis, buendia, pukki, King, Wilson, Brook, lerma, deeney, demaria gray, innealcho, origi, lanzini, Anderson, sarr, sessengnon, also show abit of ambition we could of got doucare, gotze, cavani, still free show sum ambition, its going to be another relegation fight yet again we don't learn, in my view we need a much better manager to kick on this manager is not go.

You are entitled to your opinion JV, and I can see what you are trying to say mate.
Problem is 40,000 Villa fans would give you at least 10,000 different ideas, as to who we should sign.
Dean Smith will either be a success, or he will fail and move on, having said that, he deserves his chance, we are better off than we were when he took over, that`s a fact.
Relax JV, its getting exiting mate.

2.) 04 Sep 2020 15:06:57
Many of those players are tarred by relegation. The Norwich players especially just gave up after the restart. Not sure about the character of their players or Watford’s. Bournemouth fought hard like we did, so targeting their players makes sense. Players like Sarr (£45m) and Anderson (wages £140k/ week) would doubtless be good signings but the £££ is just too much.

Lots of the players on your list may have played in the Prem, but aren’t exactly proven performers (see Norwich, Origi, Iheanacho only scores against us) .

Young, talented, energetic players are the way forward in my opinion. I think Cash is an outstanding signing, and so will be Watkins when he arrives. Then a bit of premier league / big club experience will help. Looks likely we’ll get Wilson, and Romero is as good a keeper as we could hope to sign. So that’s a couple from your list we’re in for.

Its probably your INFLATED EGO about Deano getting the sack. 😂😂.

07 Sep 2020 13:13:20
You know its bad when players pick working with Steve Bruce over your club, I'm disappointed we didn't get Wilson think he do OK think he will score 10/ 15 goals, why not go after King his strike partner would be a good fit at villa, and sign pukki aswell, and a winger and mid, will Hughes, and demari gray would be great signings,

Jonnyvillian4eva

1.) 07 Sep 2020 14:31:40
Wilson did not ‘choose working with Bruce’ over us. he chose a four-year, £100k / week contract which we would never (and should never) have matched. He may prove to be a good signing for Newcastle, but at a massive risk. Dean clearly rated him, which is why the club was prepared to make an offer for a player outside our recruitment age range. but at the fee and wages involved, makes zero economic sense.

Will Hughes could be a good signing; talented, hard-working player and would provide good depth at the right price. The £13m suggested is too much though for a squad player. Gray I’m not convinced can get back to the player he one time promised to be. But again, worth a gamble for minimal outlay possibly. Pukki is miles off being good enough. He had that great season in the championship, and carried some of that confidence into last season. but once he faded he looked well off the required level. Last couple of games for Finland he hasn’t impressed either.

Villa fan, don’t think so .

2.) 07 Sep 2020 13:54:24
It's a bet got nothing to do about supporting villa mate, anyway why should it bother you.

3.) 07 Sep 2020 14:00:04
I don't see the problem I love villa but not the manager, and it's a win win mate, if you don't like who cares not my problem like I said it's a bet, I've bet against villa does that mean I don't support them come on 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

4.) 07 Sep 2020 14:37:03
Here’s hoping the bookies are £40 better off before long.

5.) 07 Sep 2020 14:55:25
Why you telling everyone? There’s a phrase for people like you, “bad mind”, shame.

6.) 07 Sep 2020 15:01:35
That’s the poison that seeped Into our club, supporters like that. says he loves villa but only good thing he has to say is he likes his XL shirt.

7.) 07 Sep 2020 15:07:30
JonnyV, I don`t think it bothers anybody what you do with your money mate, its the theory behind the bet.
And you are correct, why should it bother us, I don`t think it does, but if that`s how you feel, why tell us in the first place.

8.) 07 Sep 2020 15:58:24
Like I said before bluenose in disguise.

06 Sep 2020 17:42:22
It's not the club who isn't a pull, it's the manager, players are going to well they spent 140 mil last season on what, we need a manager that can attract better players and that the players respect, because come on we can't attract callum Wilson it's a joke, there players available, king, pukki, eduard, sarr, deeney, morales, bentekke, ineacho, batishaui, also deleaufou, Brook, benduia, lanzini, Anderson, Davies from Everton, siguardson aswell, the Danish winger faulk who is available for 12mil who is class, then the freebies, fraser, Clyne, cavini, gotze, higuain, don't know why we are being tight, forget the Brentford lads there is better available than them, I hope we don't panic buy like last time surely thou a manager will have a list of his top targets then a 2nd and 3rd list if they can't get there proper targets,

Jonnyvillian4eva

1.) 06 Sep 2020 18:18:32
Promoted at the first time of asking, club record unbeaten run, premier league status achieved for another year and a cup final, all in his first 18 month in the job. Add to that this was all achieved whilst probably going through the toughest time of his life and him being one of us, quite literally from the stands, and he still has to put up with this absolute BS. Never has it been more clear how much of a poisoned chalice our managers job is. The lack of respect and the way some of our own fans spit in the face of our manager tells you all you need to know. Put away support is phenomenal, our home support has dipped and peaked in the last 5 years, not in numbers but in quality. But we still have some of the most fickle, yellow bellied, turn coat, spineless supporters in country.

2.) 06 Sep 2020 18:55:51
I agree Chris. Could Jonny be a bluenose in disguise as he never has a good thing to say about Villa?

3.) 06 Sep 2020 18:58:22
Couldn’t agree with you more chrisavfc

And he kept us up without our main striker, number 1 keeper and probably our most outstanding player before his injury ( McGinn )

My only concern is all the sold call bartering over transfer fees,

Identify your targets and get them in, like fergie used to do at utd ( get them early and intergrated into the squad ready for the season )

Just think we are leaving it a bit to late and the panic buys may happen.

4.) 06 Sep 2020 19:00:04
Gotta agree Chris, if we’re a goal down at half time, get behind the team, not boo them, and stay to the end, sod beating the traffic to get home for X-Factor or Strictly

UTV.

5.) 06 Sep 2020 19:10:12
Well said Chris. Dean smith and his team have done a decent job.

6.) 06 Sep 2020 19:27:41
Cheers lads👍.

7.) 06 Sep 2020 23:18:07
I'm aloud my view mate, he's not good enough in my view and we got lucky going to cup final, and by staying up, plus he's not the manager too take us to next level, aot of my mates are villa fans and we all agree he's not good enough there's more negatives than good, if you think he's a good manager than what are his qualities because I don't see it he's useless, while he's in charge we will just be, a 4th from bottom side but I can't see our owners going to be happy with that, also he's got another 100mil to spend I wouldn't trust him spending a 10er, if he has his way we will just sign all the Brentford players, we should be ambitious like Leeds did when they got bielsa in championship same as wolves when they got nuno, and Everton when they got ancelotti near bottom of prem,

8.) 06 Sep 2020 23:48:46
Wot is they to be happy about being a villa supporter at the moment mate yes we stayed in the league by luck, so I guess I'm happy with that and that's it, and I'm not a blue nose.

9.) 07 Sep 2020 01:55:54
Let me pick that straw man argument to pieces.
Bielsa literally had nowhere left to go after completely destroying his reputation. He gets praised for his sportsmanship for that one moment against us when he really didn't have a choice, especially after the derby incident. If they are so ambitious why are they linked with exactly the same players as us?

Nuno was unheard of at the time and they've spent more than us on the Portuguese national team thanks to Redknapp tactics. Good manager but equally narrow minded as Smith which has cost them as much as it has gained them.

Ancelotti is the only one I'd consider ambitious but Everton are playing Football Manager. They have tried spending the GDP of a small country on anyone who is a big name or has had a good season and throwing them together. Ancelotti has managed pretty much every big team in the world before now and proves each time that he's great at steadying a ship but not really progressing past that.

10.) 07 Sep 2020 08:13:43
That has got to be villa4eva.

11.) 07 Sep 2020 09:18:39
I’m glad you did RK, because it was that poor an argument I didn’t have the energy to even entertain it😂.

12.) 07 Sep 2020 11:12:10
I said the other day daz I lost my pass word forgot it mate 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ iam villa 4 Eva I'm not denying it haha.

04 Sep 2020 14:03:03
This manager is not good enough to manage our great club.

Jonnyvillian4eva

1.) 04 Sep 2020 14:47:11
That’s rubbish look at what he has achieved in 2 years in case you need reminding a cup final, promotion and survival in the premier what more realistically are you looking for?
If you want to replace him who do you suggest? and for gods sake let’s be realistic so none of the Poch, Benitez, Conte nonsense.

2.) 04 Sep 2020 15:13:45
I think objectively speaking, Dean has worked wonders. Took over with us bottom half of the championship. Took a few games to find his feet before getting Jack back and Mings in, but ten wins on the spin and he’s taken us up. That looked impossible at Christmas. Then the brief is to stay up. We did. And got to a cup final!

I admit I was starting to worry he’d lost his way before the break, but after the restart we were much, much better. If we had a finisher - even a fit Wesley - for the run in, I genuinely believe with all the sitters missed we’d have beaten Everton, Newcastle, a point off Chelsea. Missing big chances ain’t the manager’s fault. He sorted the defence, we still made chances.

3.) 04 Sep 2020 17:32:07
Wot he done, he spent 150 mil on crap, and is going to waste Another 100plus mil aswell, get all your heads out the clouds he's not a prem manager, we got lucky last season by ghost goal face it, I want better, Sean dyche, benitez, wilder, blanc who is out of work would all take villa to nxt level which mid table or top10, with Smith in charge we will be a relegation team, while he's in charge, with ambition we could get a big name manager Everton did with ancelloti so why can't villa, you get what you pay, and we're paying a championship manager.

4.) 04 Sep 2020 17:34:45
If this is the best we can hope for then its not good, he hasn't achieved anything really apart from winning play offs which is good if people think staying in division every year is a good achievement then we're in trouble, this club used to be pushing for top 4,and had 5th 6 place finishes, I know it's about steady steps, you build by signing class players not second rate n players from championship who haven't played in the prem, its not like there Messi who could play in any league is it.

5.) 04 Sep 2020 17:49:14
Never heard from anyone as bitter as you Jonny.
Villa have had many managers in the past who were a lot worst than DS.
Personally I think he has done a good job since he bacame manager and met all the targets set him by the owners.

6.) 04 Sep 2020 18:18:20
Aka I am with you 100 % ours days of competing for the top 6 are beyond us temporarily. At the moment we are making steady progress, let’s not forget if it wasn’t for our current owners we were in danger of going out of business and that was only two years ago, so to expect us to go from championship mediocrity to competing at the top end of the premiership with new owners and new management is totally unrealistic. Some of our fans need a touch of realism I’m afraid.

7.) 04 Sep 2020 18:40:55
With your grammar Jonny you sound just like Villa4eva but under a different name?

8.) 04 Sep 2020 23:40:30
That’s quiet a mouthful Johnny, a bit harsh though, most villa fans would of taken survival at the start of last season after what happened Fulham the year before, to say he spent 140 million on crap is way off, Luiz turning into a great player, konsa and mings pretty decent pair at CB, trez kept us up with his goals, plus got us to a cup final, heaton was a good buy, Wesley was only getting going before injury, marvellous is ok for cover for luiz, guilbert and matt target would b unfair to say they are crap imo, we got robbed by VAR how many times? That freak goal in the West Ham game how often would that ever happen, look at the games against Liverpool arsenal and spurs where we almost had the win, if we played those games at the end of the season after having the bit of experience we would of held on for the points is my bet, players needed a chance to settle, DS only finding his feet in the PL, we played Man City in a cup final and we were in it with them till the end we hit the post in final few mins if I remember correct, all in all I think we had a decent first season back when u take into consideration our young inexperienced team, manager, injuries and VAR shouts, future looks promising we have to work our way up the table, these class players you talk of have their pick of who they play for, and as for managers Everton had Carlo and were still crap, get behind the team the management and the rest of the loyal fans out there, we don’t need that negativity in our club, I’m sure if you had the skills to manage or run a club you wouldn’t have time to b on here moaning cause we don’t buy the players you think we should get in, vtid 💪🇮🇪.

9.) 05 Sep 2020 07:23:17
Well said Wack.

10.) 05 Sep 2020 10:51:50
I am villa4eva lost my password and couldn't remember it daz 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

11.) 05 Sep 2020 18:11:38
Whack attack, they have a world class manager, look at the players Everton are bringing in because of ancelotti, all iam saying you bring in a top manager you get top players, you bring in championship manager who has no pull if we're trying to sign a top he ain't going to come, where if we had a benitez, blanc, gallardo, poch, allegri we would be able to sign good players, by having a manager of that standing would entice players to our club.

12.) 05 Sep 2020 23:11:05
I get your point about big name manager bringing big name players in but we just came up from the championship none of those managers are going to touch us, and big name players are going to look elsewhere until we’ve established ourselves in the PL again, Everton have being a steady top half club for a long time and in pretty good financial shape I’m guessing, wilder didn’t need the big names to finish just outside Europe places he had a championship team but what he did have was time with his team, Nino done it the year before with wolves and they added a few top players and look at them now, dean had half a season in the championship and got us promoted when we were way down the league, he had the time during the lockdown to work with players and he done a heck of a job turning it around, he was under serious pressure to keep us up from the start of the season, the tabloids didn’t help, every time u read an article it compared us to Fulham for the influx of players, even now you read the news now stories most of them start with “how most of the players we bought last year didn’t work out” so now we need to buy more players, then we will go and get some more guys in and then they will all say it’s like last year all over again it’s such BS all looking for us to click and read trying to make themselves look like they know what they are talking about, maginn, grealish, luiz, mings, konsa, cash, trez, all have the potential to b as good as any players outside the top 4 teams, add a couple to it over the next window or 2 and there we have a pretty solid PL team, personally I’d love benrahma and a 15-20 goal striker I think that’s all we need maybe upgrade a few of our subs, establish ourselves, move up the table a bit and then the bigger names will come, it ain’t going to happen over night, I can see Sheffield getting a rude awakening this year if they don’t spend some big bucks teams will b on to them this year.

13.) 06 Sep 2020 00:48:31
I’d like to see Romero come in aswel, can’t bank on Heaton being right his injury seems to have complications we need to prepare for the worst and have a really good second keeper, we used 4 of them last season it cost us, nyland is a liability, whoever starts in goal could b there till Christmas the way injuries are going.
