Hi I don't post here often but I do have a look from time to time.

I am sure everyone here wants the best for Villa but I can't understand getting on the manager's and players' backs when we have a bit of a blip.

In the last 10 games, we have taken 25 points out of a possible 30 but some are still moaning! If we do the same in the next 10 games, we won't only have left Cardiff, Derby and Fulham behind, we will be right up there with Wolves!

Let's get behind the manager and the team! UTV!

Well said charlie, i can't understand it either. wish we could all get on and start singing from the same hymn sheet. Another win though and that much closer to acheiving our aims.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 14:04:09
Hi Charlie,
I don`t think it is going to be as straight forward as that mate, I think there are plenty of teams who will have a say in the final positions.
To pick up on you point about moaning.
We have been discussing this point on here for over 100 years now, I don’t think everybody is getting on the managers back at all.
I make comments about team selection and other points I don’t agree with, but I can assure you I am not on the managers back, it`s how I feel, and how I see things.
This site is for views, opinions, objections, observations and many other things, we are Villa fans and passionate about our club, let people have their moans and groans about the club, if you, we or I disagree then say so, don`t smack them in the face and say they are idiots and talking rubbish.
We all contribute on this site, enjoy and have a pop.

Villadave
Have you ever thought of being a journalist!
Love your posts.

4.) 25 Feb 2018 14:24:59
You can't all be happy as Larry with either team selection or other matters on the villa,
Life is not perfect but some fans think so.

5.) 25 Feb 2018 14:32:22
I don’t often, actually ever, agree with Mainbob, so this I think is a first.
Well said Dave.

6.) 25 Feb 2018 14:49:09
And back to normality.

7.) 25 Feb 2018 15:00:21
Flackie
If you agree with Dave how come my views are rubbish yet he is only saying what I Think?

8.) 25 Feb 2018 15:02:38
Can I just finish with this.
If saying something different or disagreeing with someone is getting on their back and wanting rid, then my wife is giving me a piggy back every other day, and yes I am still with her.
A question to everyone.
Do any of you disagree or think your other half has made a bad choice or decision?
OK: If yes, Do you now talk about it and give other options plus your thinking on it.
OR: Do you, Jump on her/ his back, slap their backside and lead them out the front door.
OR; No, You are lying.
I hope this makes the point very clear.

9.) 25 Feb 2018 15:09:28
Dave you are a editor right?
Well put mate.

10.) 25 Feb 2018 15:25:11
Lol great, if slightly confusing analogy! Had to read a couple of times, all I could come up with is. my mrs never agrees with me, if I said the sky was blue, she would swear it’s yellow!

And bob, there is having an opinion, no problem with that, then there is forcing a view or opinion on every thread, and then there is being critical for the sake of criticising, to either prove a previous point, get a reaction, or to not see the bigger picture.
I’m really sorry I don’t agree with your views bob, I accept 99% of them, as they are an opinion. I don’t however agree with riding the team, berating the team selection, before or at the start of a game. I accept we don’t all agree on certain players playing and wish perhaps others in the team. However. no club is ever successful unless they have the backing of their supporters. Surely supporting the guys on the pitch is more positive than making it clear you wished certain players had not made the bench, let alone the pitch.
You will never convince me to boo, moan and or slag my team during a match.
But please, do keep trying.

11.) 25 Feb 2018 15:38:28
I have never booed in a villa game in my life,
And never will,
Some of Bruce's tactics I don't agree with also players who I would like to see given a chance I will comment,
I always support the team every way I can but if I don't like Some Think I will comment,
That's life,
I said at half time yesterday how we looked terrible defensive wise and I was worried we were being taking to the cleaners by a very poor side,
But thankfully we turned it around,
Think you will find the manager was not pleased as well,
So we all have disagreements on everythink,
At end of day this is a football blog which is commenting on all football matters,
We agree with some bloggers and some we don't,
If you want to call me a moaner so be it but never say I don't care for my team.

12.) 25 Feb 2018 15:46:56
I have never suggested anyone on here doesn’t care about villa. Perhaps not TOTL, but even the amount he likes to post I’m not convinced.
I think it’s best we agree to disagree.

I wish your lady good luck in her future battles, and seriously hope everything works out.

13.) 25 Feb 2018 15:55:56
Flackie we will agree to disagree as you say that's fair enough
And thanks for your kind message for my other half,
Very much appreciated.

14.) 25 Feb 2018 16:02:31
Flackie firstly we never argue over something so trivial as the colour of the sky mate, haha.
The question is very simple, but difficult to put into words.
To try and simplify it.
Do you ever disagree with your other half?
If you have, disagreed that is, Do you talk about it, then offer your views on it in a civilised fashion .
Or do you think she is getting on your back because you both happen to disagree.
The point being, you and your other half will not always agree “correct” the question then is; do you then slag her off, call her an idiot, or something else, simply because her views are different to yours.
I think not my friend.

15.) 25 Feb 2018 16:10:13
I did get it!
I do think the more poignant question would be ‘ do we ever agree!? ‘
I’d say yes, she would say no.

16.) 25 Feb 2018 16:14:34
Hahaha, sorted then.

17.) 25 Feb 2018 19:02:31
Sorry VillaDave, I don't believe I called anyone an idiot or slapped them in the face. Apologies, if you read it that way.

I agree we are all entitled to our opinions, even me! I was merely trying to get some positivity going after what has been a pretty impressive start to the calendar year in terms of results. UTV.

I really believe we can catch Norwich and Sunderland. Will be difficult to catch a third team but if we did, who do you all think it would be?

VTID.

Charlie665

1.) 07 Feb 2016 09:35:36
Hopefully we can, without ayew yesterday we looked strong so with him we will be better. However it's hard to judge yesterday's performance bearing in mind the opposition.

2.) 08 Feb 2016 11:14:11
as stupid as it sounds i would rather we went down in 18th than 20th. least that way we know we put the effort in and we can then turn to the numptys at the top that if you lot had put more effort in we would still be in the league.

but if we get 5 wins under the belt (not sure how) and looking at games left if we play all out i think we could do it.

Guys,

I don't know if I am a bit of a pessimist but when I looked at our first three games - away to a newly promoted team, always difficult as newly promoted teams are extra pumped up at the start of the season, home to United who always beat us, and then away to a solid Palace side - I thought we would get 1 point in total but we have 3!

Lets all get behind Ayew and give him a chance. I know he has his knockers but so does every Jordan

Ed,

There is a box on this page that says Search (single word yields better results)

Well I tried this a lot last year but we still kept losing.

Any other tips for getting better results? :-)

Charlie665

{Ed001's Note - maybe a new manager will help? One that doesn't get caught fly tipping because his name and address is on every bag he dumped might improve matters....}

1.) 21 Jul 2015 09:17:40
Thanks Ed, Good point!

Alternatively, I could subscribe to other premier league sites in the hope that my presence as a member would ensure they have the same disastrous run of results Villa had immediately after I joined this one

{Ed001's Note - you wouldn't need to subscribe, you can use this account on all of our sites. Be interesting if you do that to two teams that face each other, which will lose? It is like the old conundrum, would a cat still land on its feet if you strapped a piece of toast to its back, butter side up? It might just rip the world in two!}

2.) 21 Jul 2015 09:51:32
Yes, will have to think this trough carefully. I will just target Villa's immediate opponents each week assuming my influence only lasts few days.

By the way, just tried the cat experiment, it landed on its feet and the toast still tasted fine! I foolishly added marmalade though so I may have compromised the results

{Ed001's Note - there you go, the marmalade would have ruined it. Still at least you saved the world from catastrophe.}

3.) 21 Jul 2015 10:43:24
I have tried a few things over the years to improve Villa's fortunes.

I once believed I had a lucky old Villa shirt which was made of a very coarse material.

I wore it during the Martin O'Neill era. It had the doubly positive effect of seeming to improve our results and making my nipples tingle which wasn't entirely unpleasant.

Anyway, end of February and we were riding high in the top 4 when I foolishly got carried away and bought some 'lucky' pants made of the same material. After that we hardly won another game and my expectations (among other things) turned out to be embarrassingly premature

{Ed001's Note - lmfao. I remember a few years ago having a shirt that I spilt gravy on, we won so I wouldn't wash it as it was obviously a lucky gravy stain. We were unbeaten and I would just wear the shirt for the matches then take it off and put it away carefully until the next match. I went out one day, my then gf washed it and we went on a terrible run ending up in 6th, depsite being top of the league in a two way battle for the title. I never ever forgave her for that. The moral of the story is, gfs are bad luck.}

4.) 21 Jul 2015 11:08:52
LMFAO - Girlfriends don't get this do they? I bet when you pointed out the enormity of what she had done, she came up with some ridiculous statement that either a) its rubbish, a shirt worn by a fan cannot affect the team's performance or b) why don't you put a new gravy stain on it? - She would never understand that you would not be able to replicate that stain and the positive affect it had on the team!

Fortunately I no longer have that problem with my other half. The embarrassing affect my lucky pants have on me means that she doesn't bother me any more and I can leave her to her own 'devices'.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, she didn't understand. That is why she is an ex.}

Ken.

Could you please explain to my wife that bit about assessing the quality of her shoes before going out and buying another ten pairs.

I knew her wardrobe was full of them but even I was amazed when we were moving house and I discovered another thirty pairs in the loft! Some still in their original boxes and never been worn! #imeldamarcoshaanothingonher.

Yes they asset strip sometimes but a venture capitalist's main goal is to make a tidy profit in typically a five year period when they sell. They are very rarely in anything for the long haul. However, I think the only way they can increase the value of the club by as much as they would want to, would be by getting back into the premier with all my the tv and sponsorship money that would attract. So probably a good thing if it happens but expect them to be ruthless in achieving their goal.

Can I suggest that Kingvilla could be chief scout? He seems to have so many connections and is very much in the know :-)

Played every position except for right back. Most games at left midfield but at highest level centre back and centre forward in my veteran years

Most like Gareth Barry?

Hard tackler. Most would be illegal these days. Opponents would be rolling over and over in exaggerated pain all over the place.

Decent in the air and good left foot.

Except that in one post the Kingster said that only an announcement on the club's website or on SSN would constitute official confirmation. Then when SSN did confirm it, he said it didn't count (as it didn't fit with his prediction) . If only Raheem Sterling could move goalposts as readily as KingVilla, even he might hit the target occasionally.
